Good morning ladies sunny here and no rain! My dog hates the rain so no walk for her yesterday. Just a long walk today, then back to make a venison casserole for tea. Hope everyone is well and had a lovely day. xx

Good Sunday morning everyone. Guess what? It's raining here. It' a steady downpour but there's not as much flooding in the garden as yesterday. Eva's still not a happy bunny, though! Bless her, she's such a wuss.

No plans for us today, although I might get bored enough to do a bit of dusting (only a bit - not in Oma's league). Oma do rest your arm and shoulder today - you know you'll only make it worse if you don't have a rest - reading sounds a good idea. xx

Enfys - how are you feeling today? I'm sure this wet weather doesn't help, but sending hugs.

Clover - did the scaffolders get the scaffolding up yesterday ready for the builders on Monday? I hope it doesn't get held up by the weather.

Gem - yes, you deserve some treats while S is away. I'm sure we'll get to meet up at some point - just hope it's sooner rather than later.

I'll write about yesterday in the 'pandemic' thread in a minute.

      Take care, ladies.

Here I am again, 10.15 and still not dressed.

Oma, sorry to hear your shoulder is painful, a day of rest sounds like a good idea.

Gemini love the avatar, I love M&S food, as Oma said treat yourself. I hope the golfing ladies have a good time.

Just had a message from GD2, she needs a pair of jeans turned up when she comes home next week. My favourite job, not.
GD1 and her partner came over to show us the clothes they had bought for the baby, lots of Ooos and Aahs.

Our gutters were having a job to cope Daisy, we have an enormous roof being two bungalows and the gutters are, I think, too small for the amount of rain so are constantly overflowing in heavy rain. I had my down pipes and soakaways cleaned last year. Daisy, a question for you. My DD and I stayed in an hotel called The White Buck some years ago, it was just outside Burly and close to the golf course. Has it changed its name?

I have been talking to my Sister for quite a while this morning ,
Today our Dad would have been 99

He was the most wonderful Dad a true Gentle Gentleman never once raised his voice to any of us and he didnt need to we would do anything he asked without any fuss we all loved him so much and would have hated to upset him in any way .

Its been 48years since he died and i talk about him everyday still ,
I have his photograph on my dressing table and i chat to him as im getting sorted , we put the worlds to right me and my Dad

The sun is out this morning and I have been able to put some washing out to dry just need to keep a sharp eye for rain.
Poppy will not go out in the rain but Oliver will stand in the garden getting soaked and it doesn't bother him at all his fur is so thick I don't think he feels the rain on him.
This morning I have ordered a new duvet as the one I have seems to have gone really flat its still warm but just doesn't lie right on the bed iyswim it was on offer from Next in their sale I also ordered one of their deep sided double sheets I have never had bedding from them before I usually use Dunelm I hope they turn out to be good quality.
I am waiting to have my gutters cleaned out I was listening in bed last night to them overflowing with the amount of rain we had, there is allsorts growing in them it looks like Que Gardens the workmen are due before the 20th of this month. One thing though the water draining into the water butt at the front saves me carrying water through to water my plants and baskets at the front of the bungalow.

Plant,It clouded over an hour or so ago but the sun has reappeared so we may just get a nice afternoon after all, considering the new regulations the promenade and beach area by me are packed with visitors making the most of the weather.

It is pouring with rain here and has been all day. I just feel so thankful that I have a lovely cosy home, so I do t mind what the weather does.

Its getting dark again here so i think the rain is coming again ,
Sunshine your right , we should be thankful for our cosy homes there are plenty who dont have our luxury xx

Glamm our gutters get full of leaves and they compact like bricks so we get them cleared before the winter after most of the leaves have fallen , but you can bet your life at some point they will block again and its like listening to a water fall coming over the top in heavy rain ,
We were thinking about getting those wire meshes put on but a friend said they had them and the gutters still get blocked with debris so seems a waste of time .

Oma those mesh little cages over the down pipes do stop the soak away getting blocked.

The sun came out after the rain stopped. Still sunny now.
Noticed the wind seems to be getting up though.
Oma, hubby got his baterry and i got all the meat i wanted, except for braising steak.
I forgot about it until we got home.

Aww that's so nice Oma. Your dear dad sounded lovely.
We had mixed weather today. Sunshine, then it came dark as if it was going to rain, then brightened up again.
I went to M&S for my shopping, came home and had lunch and watched some TV. I then put the fire on and settled down to watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
I fed the cat and went out to feed the hedgehogs before dark. The dishes were full so OH must have done it this morning before she went!

Plant - yes, the White Buck is still there. I think it's a Fullers place. I've only ever been there for a drink, sitting in the garden, but it seemed very nice. Burley itself can get even more touristy than our village in the summer, but it's easy to find nice walks nearby.

Gem - I hope you found something really tasty at M&S. Sometimes as sunshine says, it's nice to be all warm and cosy when the weather's atrocious. I always find myself thinking about people who are homeless and living on the streets - it must be truly awful. Will your hedgehogs be hibernating soon?

                                Good morning all.
The sun is shining here. I will hang washing out too Nan2 I think.
Daisy I got an M&S ready meal which was lamb in mint and redcurrant gravy with colcannon mash and carrots. I added some green beans and a glass of wine. It was lovely I also bought a little trifle.
Last year the hedgehogs didn't seem to hibernate. They slept in the hibernating boxes, but still came out to be fed most nights!!

Reflexology for me this morning, then library all afternoon. Phone quiz with friends tonight.
OH has her second day of golf today. Not sure what time she will be back.

                                Have a good day everyone.
