That sounds good Oma, you will have a very tasty freezer. DD went into M&S and they had loads of food, then she called into Waitrose and their food shelves were nearly empty and milk only in 4 pints. Her delivery of milk hadn't turned up because they were taking on a lot more customers and therefore would be late. DD felt they should be looking after their regular customers first. DD called and got my prescription, only two persons in the chemist at once, I did go into M&S Food hall with her, very quiet in there.

The supermarket shelves seem to be very variable - sometimes they're fully stocked then in seconds it all disappears.

OH went into the village this morning. I know, he shouldn't really, but I sent him armed with what's left of a small bottle of sanitiser and very strict instructions on using it! He picked up a prescription for me, and the chemist had no hand sanitiser and didn't even have a delivery schedule for it. Needless to say there was none in Tesco Express, but there weren't any pears either! I know pears aren't a direct substitute for hand sanitiser, but they taste a lot nicer and I just fancied some. He bought me some Granny Smiths instead and a couple of magazines, bless him.

I'm going to increase our doorstep milk order for the duration, because with being home all the time we're using more. I can highly recommend Milk and More - they deliver lots of basics and some fresh stuff along with the milk.

I didn't get round to starting on the greenhouse (very lazy!) so after lunch I went out and spent a couple of hours on my hands and knees weeding the patio. It's too much to do in one go, but at least I made a start. My new table for the summerhouse is due tomorrow, so I'll have to give that a clean out and sort out all my bits and pieces.

OH got me some tinned spaghetti from Iceland (I do like a bit of tinned spaghetti with cheese grated in ) She said stocks were generally a lot better in Iceland than Tesco.
I had a good catch up with my friend. It was quieter than usual in the cafe and people were practicing social distancing, we all kept at least one table away from each other.
Walking through the furniture shop to reach the tea rooms was nice. Lots of normal stock and no one grabbing. The world seemed a normal place for a short time.

Gem - I think you've hit on something there - we all need to find a bit of normality in our worlds just now.

Just watched PM's daily broadcast. Announced school closures from Friday. Also private schools & Nurseries. This is for the foreseeable future. There are exceptions of course. Advised for parents not to ask Grandparents to look after the children as they're among the 'at risk' group. Help will be given to those needing free school meals.

I'd like to know who'se looking out for the homeless.

Nana - there's a £3.2 million emergency support for rough sleepers. I'm sure it won't be enough, but it's something. Sorry I can't find a link for the precise details, and I'm just off to bed. I'll try and find it tomorrow.

I hope all those parents who need help with their children not at school can get it. So many families reply on grandparents normally.

It was on the news here that the flower/plant market has completely crashed! They are having to dump so many flowers, the growers in this area have stalls to sell their flowers, these are €5 a bunch.

                      Good morning Nan2.
Your lovely graphics are needed more than ever now. Good morning everyone else.

Daisy I'm sure many grandparents will be helping out and to be honest, many grandparents are well and below the Danger Age (I became a Grandma at 55 and many do a lot younger) My GC won't go to the over 70's GPs. We are having them as usual for now, if no illness or exposure. We are not seeing GS1 atm as he may have been exposed.

I need to shop again today, for my mum. I hope to get a lot of the things she usually has to avoid doing it every week.
I will see her this afternoon.

DD3 and SIL are coming to eat here tonight. DD worries there may be some sort of lockdown where we cant see each other so wants to visit. I know they saw her dad the other night.

Try to have a good day ladies. Keep well.

Sad that we can't meet up any time as we had planned though.
Won't you still be able to have the dog?

Oma, the restaurants here had to close on Sunday, but, a lot are trying to keep the customers with takeaways. That is still allowed. I am going to the shop in the village, if he is open, to see how much paint I need for 10 doors!!! I can do one at a time, DIL has just phoned, they are so hoping that at least one of their houses gets sold then they are certain about the one they want to buy. They have been looking for this for 17 years, find it, then this happens. I was saying, this has such an impact on so many aspects of life.

Good morning. Dull and drizzly here this morning. I’m so pleased I managed to get the grass cut the other day.

DD has just phoned, she is in Asda, just checking did I need anything so stephe is picking up a couple of bits she didn’t manage to get for us yesterday. We are so lucky she lives nearby and is watching out for us. She is also picking up a couple of things for her neighbour, who is older than us but on her own.

we won’t get out in the garden today, unless it really dries up later but we still need to make a decision about the mini greenhouse so will be browsing online and try and agree what to do. P is always better when he has a project in mind.

Have a good day everyone 🌺

Gem, keep your chin up. Understandable that you are feeling down, especially with the holiday going for a burton.

We are trying to keep things as normal as possible for now.

                              Flowers for everyone.
