    Good morning everyone.

Definitely a better day here today, although it is still windy. There was a lot of tree debris on the roads this morning, but less flooding than I expected.

Plant - hopefully you'll be ok going to bowls and your Embroidery and Textile group this evening.

Gem - it sounds like a busy day for you, but it makes sense to take GS2 back to his house when you've got to collect GD as well. I hope the dark clouds didn't result in rain. We've all had enough for the time being.

Oma - I'm just about to strip out bed. I usually do it at the week-end, but I didn't want to have it med-wash in case we had a power cut yesterday. I hope B's check up goes ok. Eva and Cooper say to Storm they'd come and help him with that juicy bone if it's too much for him! After both of them having the zoomies round the garden earlier they're now 'resting' before the next game.

Right - time I got on with the chores.

Changed and aired the bed, dusted bedroom and sitting room except the dining table and chairs as the cat is asleep under the radiator and I don't want to spook him, well that's my excuse. Really need to push the sucku thing around but that can wait too.

In between dog management and washing, I've ventured out into the storm (yes, it's back!) to pick up a large Hydrangea pot and shards of glass from a shattered LED light. I couldn't leave it because of the glass and the potential for 8 cut paws, but I got soaked (yes, I know now I should have stopped to put a coat on!) and freezing cold.

I'm sure there'll come a day in Summer when we'll be saying "do you remember that lovely cold wet weather in February, we could do with some of that now"!!

Yes Gem, been a lot of flooding again.
Storm seems to have passed for now. Just a slight breeze ans sunny.
Hubby heard this morning that there 4 more storms to come.

Gem, i always do the ESTA's when going to America.
A few years ago we were going away, can't remember where.
While i was round at in laws, hubby booked travel insurance.
Problem was, he booked it 4 times. Why i asked him, well he said i didn't get any confirmation.
He never thought to look in my emails,(always use mine).
I had to ring the insurance company and cancel 3 bookings.
The young man i spoke to, said i have never had anyone do this before.
Hubby now leaves this job to me.

Still windy here and we've had torrential rain this afternoon. Daisy do you really think we'll be looking back fondly on this weather in the middle of Summer?

House a bit empty without DD and DS, but they did help us get our thoughts and plans in order. So that was good, the emptiness of the fridge and cupboards after they'd gone wasn't so good!

Been to Art this afternoon and did a bit more free style painting. It's quite nice not trying to make whatever you're painting look real! Could get used to this new me!!

WG, it sounds as though you had a good visit from your family, despite being left with an empty fridge
Plant, of course your couldn't dust near that radiator. Cats can NOT be disturbed for housework!!
Hmm, Nan2, leaving the bookings to you sounds a good plan! I was surprised this time that we had to give our parents names on the ESTA form. That's new since we last went to the states.
No wonder you were cold with no coat on Daisy. In my warm duvet type coat I was nithered in the playground waiting for GD this afternoon.

A lovely afternoon with the GC. I hate routine and love a change, so it was nice to do something different.

Daisy, i don't think we will be wishing for this weather when/if summer comes.

WG and Nanto - I bet at some time in the summer when the temperature's climbing up into the 30s (I hope!) someone will be wishing for a nice blast of cold air, granted they may not also want the rain and wind though!

WG - I'm glad the time you've spent with your DD and DS has helped you to clarify your thoughts and make plans. You just need to do a big supermarket shop now and restock the fridge and food cupboards. Enjoy your new art form - it could be a whole new world of artistic achievement for you.

Gem - I wasn't out in the rain for long - I just heaved the plant pot back onto its base and picked up the broken glass. We've had really high winds again this afternoon and when I opened DS2's front door to go home at tea time it blew right out of my hand.

Nanto - I think your OH is right - more storms on their way. Has anybody had snow today? It was snowing in Stoke this afternoon, and I think in North Wales.

It sounds as though the paperwork needed to travel abroad these days is getting worse and worse.

Plant, the Scots supporters were booing & making a racket when England's captain was lining up for the goal posts. The England manager also said a plastic bottle was thrown & it hit one of the coaches (man, not the bus). One of the reasons I like to go to an actual game is because there's never any trouble in the crowds. Fantastic atmosphere. Families go too with young children, so I hope it won't change.

Gem, I saw York flooded again by the river & other places on our local news. The wind has really got up now. WeeG there's nothing like art to sooth the soul. When my DD1 gets twitchy she has coloured pencils & an adult colouring book. She said she finds it relaxing & distracts from her overthinking.

Daisy I might just be the one who says about the rain. I'm finding our summers too hot now.🤦‍♀️😉

                      Good morning ladies

Yes, some flooding in York I think Nana. The Grand Opera House, which is close to the river are urging people who want to book when the pantomime priority booking opens today to do so online rather than in person to avoid the floods!!
It sounded pretty wild outside again last night.

Another disturbed night for me so at 6am I thought I may as well get up as sleep wasn't going to come.

Tonight we are going to the theatre to see an Alan Aykbourn play. This morning the booking opens for card holders at the Opera House, new home of our annual panto. I will be online at 10am trying to book, along with many others! Only 4 seats to book this year, as DD2 and are are taking the 2 older GC, no one else is joining us.
OH's golf course is closed so no competition today. Some of them are meeting at the clubhouse for coffee. Depending on how long my panto booking takes me, I may go with her.
We will probably go to my mums too as she's having a problem with her TV, and we didn't have time to go yesterday.

                      Have a good day everyone.

A quick Good Morning from me as I rush round getting ready to collect Cooper. It's still pretty dark, but the wind's dropped and, joy of joy, it's not raining!

I'll pop back later (I hope). We're going up to Leek tomorrow - still trying to sort out my Cousin's house and other things - so I want to leave things tidy here, apart from the ironing pile, of course. Plus, it's my usual busy Tuesday with the girls this afternoon and dog training tonight.

Good morning from a very windy Holland! We had the storm on Sunday and seemed to clear yesterday but heard it again during the night! I am supposed to go and take my E bike for a service, will see how it is, otherwise I will phone them. Decided not to go on the bike, just phoned them and can go next week.

WeeG, hope the art works out, the lady I go swimming with is very talented!

I will go and see if it is safe to go on the bike. I went to the pool yesterday in the car, I have been going almost 5 years, always parking places, but, the area has now paid parking and EVERYONE parks their car at the pool park. Not one empty place yesterday, I had to wait until someone left, I was telling our instuctor and he said it is a problem and the council are trying to sort it out. I have just sent a nice mail to let them know another one is complaining.

I have to go to the post office, apart from that i ain't going out.
Hubby going to help his pal do something in his house.

                            Stay safe and warm.

Lizzie, that's so unfair that pool users are having problems parking. Good for you for emailing.
They need a system. Perhaps a sticker for pool users, and others have to pay?

They will have to find a solution, soon, they will be losing customers this way. People were even parking on invalid spaces yesterday, not me, heavy fine!
