Oma, we have decide to just ring mum, and only go over if there is any sort of emergency, which hopefully there won't be. I shopped for her on Thursday, so she has everything she needs. She can settle down in front of her fire and watch snooker!
    It is getting worse here.
Grauntie good to hear OH made it back!

I have done nothing today except have a shower and get dressed. Lazy mare.
It certainly was a strange match Daisy, Sil was cross that England were playing a kicking game in view of the wind, did your OH want Wales to win Daisy?
I don't do housework on a Sunday Oma, sitting room could do with a dust, that can wait until tomorrow.

Love the poem Nanto, hope the in-laws are keeping well.

Good afternoon. We arrived home at lunchtime after an uneventful journey. We left early, straight after breakfast and it was not too bad at all. We stopped for coffee at about 10.45 and noticed it was getting more blustery after that. The worst bit was a high road between Bridport and Dorchester, Daisy will probably know that road. It was very misty, you could hardly see the tail lights of the car in front and yet still some idiots went zooming past! Apart from that it was ok. Very wet and windy now and I’m glad we’re home.

Had a nice break, over eaten as per usual, but it was all so nice. Did a lot of walking, DH did very well, better than me in fact. Did something silly.....when we got home I found I still had the room key in my coat pocket! I phoned the hotel and will post it back tomorrow, what a fool I felt 🤭

Hope everyone is well, will catch up later. 🌞

Enfys, pleased you both enjoyed your break.

Still windy here, but the sun is shining now. had heavy hailstones about 11.30.
I saw on Facebook that Gem had a thunderstorm.

Grauntie, good to hear OH made it back safely.

Sun shining here too now. Had the worst storm that I've ever seen this morning. Watching Italy v France now. Better weather than at Murryfield yesterday. Some of the Scotland supporters let themselves down ... not at all sporty. We're not impressed, as supporters of Scotland. It was always going to be a heated game.

Enfys, glad you had a good break & home safely. Key easily done. You'll not be the first.

Nanto - I managed to steer clear of the ironing pile. We had an unexpected visitor, so I have the perfect excuse! I know you're all shouting at me that it's still lurking there waiting to pounce on me, but I don't feel like doing it now, so that's that!

Grauntie - I'm not sure when our high tides are, but I wouldn't risk driving through the Forest in this wind. I'm not easily frightened, but there are some huge trees that could fall. Glad your OH made it back with the paper this morning.

Oma - I'm glad you have left washing the kitchen floor. You still sound worn out from the decorating and haven't had much sleep again. It's a feet up sort of day today. xx

Plant - yes OH did want Wales to win (it's his home side!). He was very disappointed with the Ireland v Wales game, though!! Nana - it's disappointing when sports fans forget it's a 'game'.

Enfys, I'm glad you had a lovely break and are home safely. I'm sure the hotel will have spare keys. They obviously didn't ask for the key when you checked out.

It's now really dark here with a huge black cloud chucking buckets of water at us again, and the wind is still howling like a banshee.

Daisy I had a 20 minute nap then tackled the ironing . Not much to do but I also ironed the fresh bedding , I will strip the beds tomorrow . I'm surprised it's taking me a while to get over the papering . Although I was tired beforehand so that didn't help I suppose . Did Eva go out for a wee ? DD said she had to force Storm out of the door 😱😁

Good afternoon. I have just completed our ESTA applications, I need to lie down in a darkened room!
This is the online application which replaced the green visa waiver form we used to do fill in on the plane on the way to the states.
I have done 2 previous applications, I don't remember it being this stressful!
I spoke to mum on the phone. She was fine and didn't want us driving in the bad weather.

Your body is telling you not to overdo it Oma.
Welcome back Enfys, I'm glad your journey back was uneventful. As you have the room key, maybe you should book another break to take it back
Nice visitor preventing you from doing the ironing Daisy!

I've got some more ironing now, washed a load of darks earlier today.

Gem, you did the right thing in not venturing out.

We had thunder and hailstones about 5ish.

Oma - you probably should have left the decorating until you were less tired. Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing! As Gem says, your body is screaming at you to slow down and rest. Please listen to it. xx

Gem, glad you mum was ok. It's always nice to be rescued from the ironing. Gem - I don't know why the ESTA applications are so stressful, but they do seem to be. Still, once they're done, they're done and it's another job you can cross off your list. You'll need your holiday at this rate.

Nanto - that's the trouble with ironing - you do some washing and it results in more ironing!

I hope the winds have died down wherever you are. It's a bit quieter here now, but I don't think the forecast for the coming week is anything to get excited about.

Raining and windy, but i don't think it's as bad as yesterday.
Seen it on the local news, parts of Yorkshire flooded again.

Yes Daisy, more washing does lead to more ironing.

                          Have a good day ladies.

                              Good morning everyone.

There have been some very flooded areas haven't there Nan2?
Here this morning there is no rain and it is bright with sunny spells. Still very windy, but less than yesterday.
I hope doggy has got over his sickness Oma.
OH says she could never do all the ESTA and fastpass orginisation, she would give up! There is a lot she can do I can't, and a lot you can do that I can't Oma

Today is GS2 and GD day. Usually Friday, this week it is Monday. Instead of GS all day we will pick him up from preschool at 12.30, as Monday is his morning there. It is on the same campus as GD's school. Back to their house for a couple of hours, rather than drive all the way back here to go back again. Then to collect GD from school, back here with both for play and tea, then SIL will collect them after work.

Having said there was no rain there was brief shower! It's looking very dark now, so more to come I suspect.

I hope everyone's day goes well.

Bowls for me this afternoon and Embroidery and Textile group this evening but I will not be going anywhere if that storm returns.

I didn't see the bad behavior of the fans at the rugby matches, very unusual, they are usually well behaved.

Oma, I hope the aches and pains as a result of the decorating go soon. We are lucky to have a self-employed man in the road who will tackle most jobs.
