Well done Nanto getting your OH to throw away a broken drill bit.

Oh dear Oma, now you have told me about the croissants I shall be tempted, love the almond ones.

Good news about the Panto Gemini. Pleased your aunt is happy with her flat, I am going to visit my friend tomorrow afternoon in her Mc/Stone flat, she said don't come in the morning because she wants to attend the keep fit class in the morning. Also she gets her nails and hair done.

Aqua was a different instructor today, she is more of a keep fit lady and really works us hard. Called at Charity shop on the way home, sign outside saying no donations today. There was a man talking to the assistant complaining that he had wasted petrol getting there, the assistant was explaining that they hadn't got enough staff and you could see the stuff piled up. He kept on with his complaining and I could see the assistant was close to tears so I pointed out to him that they are not paid staff and that I had a car full too. He had obviously already been told off by another customer and his voice was getting louder trying to defend himself. I said to him can't you see you have reduced the lady to tears. The assistant allowed him him to bring his donation in to shut him up and he came in with 2 quite small packages. The poor assistant then rushed into the back room. How can people think they are more important. Needless to say I still have 2 boxes in my car.

Good afternoon all. It’s been very dreary and rainy here all day.

DH went to a meeting about his Men’s She’d this morning, they are looking at a new venue. So I had the morning to myself, got my jobs done in double quick time then settled down to watch an episode of Downton Abbey and do some crochet.

Nan2, my DH is like that.....goes to sort out the garage but hates getting rid of anything. Everything ‘might come in handy one day’ 🙂

Plant, what a nasty man. As you say, the staff are volunteers and shouldn’t have to out up with that. I can’t bear rudeness, well done for telling him off.

Oma, I wish you hadn’t said about all the croissants etc at Tesco’s...now I want some 🙂. Will have a look next time we go.

Every evening we watch the street lights come in later and later, not long ago it was dark by now and they’re not on yet. Spring is on its way 🌺

Good morning ladies , its just starting to get lighter ,
Had a nice meal last night but it wasn't as Jolly as usual , Clare, Martins new wife has been having tests found out yesterday she has a Brain tumour , its on her Piturity ( spelling ) gland
She starts meds today to try to shrink it if that doesn't work it will be Brain surgery , She cant work for a month as she may get several side effects from the drugs ,
Naturally she's upset and scared she's only 31 but otherwise very healthy so that will give her a head start .
After our meal we went back to their house and talked till late , we did manage a few laughs and jokes , she doesn't want us to stop teasing her she doesn't want sympathy she wants things to go on as usual . B just text her to say get her lazy A**e out of bed she text back with a rude word hahaha

Got Dog today so a day in for us just as well we both had a disturbed night .

It's been a windy(as in weather) night. A bit calmer now.

Sorry to hear the news about Claire.

My sister in law who lives in Wigan, rang me last night to see how mam and dad are.
We talked for a while, then she told me she has lung cancer. She had breast cancer 5 years ago.
In fact come May, she would have got her 5 years without cancer.
She was quite upbeat though, and because they have found it early, she is convinced she will beat it.
I really hope she is right.

Oma, I hope the medication helps your DIL, so young!

Nanto, the same for you, poor SIL, my friend has lung cancer, she has been having immunetherapy? for a year now and the tumour has almost vanished, so, there is hope. She looks so well, does everthing, never complains so I do hope it continues to help her.

Good morning Oma, Nan2 and everyone.

Plant good for you for defending that poor lady.
Enfys, that sounded a nice morning for you while OH was at his Men's Shed thing!
Oma, I am so sorry about Claire, I know what a nice person you always say she is. Wishing her all the best for the drugs working. Is it a benign tumour?
So sorry to hear about your SIL too Nan2 . I hope she can beat it again.
Reassuring news about that from Lizzie.

So much sadness, but we must not be downhearted!

In our Tesco they are in the top freezers in the ice cream / sweet treat isle
Oma - you temptress, you! I don't often got to the big Tesco but I could always stock the freezer up with those pastries - they're like my GCs, I love them all equally and unconditionally!! I hope all goes well taking your MIL to M & C's this afternoon.

Nanto - I hope you took a photo of the broken drill bit in case OH misses it. If the freezer's taking up too much room it's easy - no freezer = no food!

Gem - great news about the panto. I bet you'll be first in the queue the day the tickets go on sale. Also good that you can have an injection to help your knee before you go on holiday. I was wondering how your aunt was settling down in her new home. It sounds perfect for her. What a shame your mum is jealous of her, she sounds such a lovely lady.

Plant - what an awful rude man in the charity shop. If he was that desperate why didn't he phone and ask first - or go to another shop! As you say, they're volunteers and sorting out stuff they get given isn't a nice job. It's disgusting what some people put in charity shop bags and boxes - they ought to be taking it to a dump!

Enfys - it's been the same here. I haven't been out apart from escorting Eva into the garden (she likes company!) It is getting lighter - yesterday we were out with Eva until 5 o'clock and it wasn't dark. Today it hasn't been light though.

I think Nanto's, Enfys' and my OHs were cast in the same mould. Everything must be kept because sooner or later it will come in useful!

I've spent most of the day on the computer - lots of odd jobs that needed doing. OH is going to a meeting tonight and it includes a fish and chip supper, so no cooking for me. I shall have mushrooms on toast probably.

I hope Qwerty has landed safely.

EDIT I posted (or thought I had) the above yesterday. I don't know what happened. If it's landed twice pleased don't feel obliged to re-read it - there's nothing new there.

                          FRIDAY MORNING

                          Good morning (just)

Oma - I'm sure Clare's fighting spirit will stand her in good stead, and Nanto, I do hope your sister-in-law's cancer can be treated. It's always hopeful when they catch it early, so everything crossed for her.

It's another dreary day here. It's very misty and sort of drizzling with rain on and off. The garden is looking very sad again.

We've got Cooper today - DS and DIL needed a dog-free day in the shop and he's no trouble. But he was sick last night and only growled at his breakfast this morning. In Cooper-language that means "I think I'm hungry, but I've got a tummy ache and it hurts. If I growl at my food it will all get better". I'm defrosting some trips for him for lunch-time in the hope he'll eat that.

Gem - have a lovely day with GS2 and GD after school.

Good afternoon. What a day, it hasn’t stopped raining all day.

Met a friend for coffee this morning. I had t seen her for ages so it was nice to chat and catch up. Her DH is going to help P dispose of the old dishwasher, so that is kind. He has a trailer and is going to take it and any other junk down to the tip for us. I was concerned about how we would manage so that is one thing less to worry about.

Dexter is here and doesn’t like the fact that I won’t go and play with him in the garden. He’s been in and out with his toys, looking at me with ‘that’ face, poor boy....so hard done by 🙂
Thinking of Qwerty in the sunshine 🌞, lovely.
