Morning. No sign of the storm here yet. Oma, when you said how much decorating you'd done I thought you'd be achey today. Do take care. Plant if I can help with the knitted squares just say. I'd be happy to help out (for free of course). I've got loads of spare wool.

Nana - I've just seen a Met Office warning from earlier today that shows a much larger 'amber' area than last night's forecast! It looks as though grannies in the far north/north-east will get off more lightly than the rest of us.

Evening All.
Sitting waiting for the storm, hatches battened etc.
Plant, OH said he thought the Ireland and Wales match was better. He blamed the weather for the England match even though they won.
I have had a productive day declagging the iron, kettle, coffee machine and teapot, and cleaning and repairing my jewellery. All shining now.
An evening of dozing in front of the tv beckons.

Plant and Grauntie - I was quite surprised the Scotland v England game took place - the weather was atrocious. OH says the less said about the Ireland v Wales game the better.
Grauntie - what a productive day - all that declagging! I'm impressed that you repair your jewellery too - I wouldn't know where to start (although I do clean it!)
The wind is definitely revving up here.Someone in a photography group I belong to was asking where would be the best places to get storm photos tomorrow. One sensible person suggested staying in bed would be best!

Grauntie I have one of those sonic jewelry cleaners , a little water in put jewelry in and it vibrates for up to 6 minutes and any dirt is shook off , had it for years its brilliant ,and makes cleaning so easy , is that what you use ?

Good morning Nan2 and all ladies passing through.
Staying in sounds a good plan Nan2.
There was heavy rain and wind here all night long. I will see how the day goes as to whether we will go to see my mum this afternoon as planned. Its only 2 or 3 miles away and if we go in OH's bigger car it will be more stable. If it's too bad I will phone mum for a chat and to check all is well. We were right to cancel the lunch out with auntie.

Good morning everyone. What a lovely graphic Nanto - although I think if we open our door at the moment what will come in is a huge gust of wind.
Oma - I didn't even know 'claggy' was a northern word. I might have confused a lot of southerners over the years!
Gem - I'm sure your mum wouldn't want you to go over there if it's dangerous, even in the bigger car.
I think I might tackle the ironing pile today! I'm not tempted to go out. Well, I am - it will be spectacular down on the beach - great photo opportunities, but it's also dangerous and foolish! So I'll be a good girl and stay put.
I hope those who have to venture outside today do so safely.

Good moaning each.
Very windy here, OH has ventured out to get the paper. I hope he makes it back! I would like to go to the beach too Daisy, but as you say it would be a foolish thing to do. High tide is at 12.30 so I will see how bad it is then.
I think I must have got ‘clag’ from OH Oma. He is a Leeds fellow. I made a mixture of salt, bicarb, washing up liquid and warm water as per something I saw on Pinterest, it cleaned quite well but I had to use a small brush. I think Oma’s way is better as I had to re-set a stone in a dress ring.
Love the poem Nanto2, I won’t be opening the door though!
The wanderer returns, I will think about breakfast now.
Have a peaceful day ladies.

Morning ladies gosh we had some rain during night didn't we ,
Wind was strong but not as bad as I thought , I went to bed at 3 but it woke me again at just before 5 , so I lay listening to it and dozed back off till 7.15 .
Cleaned my kitchen doors down and did a general sweep over with the duster , was going to wash the floors but have Storm tomorrow so it will be full of wet paws again so will wait till tomorrow night ,
Tired and still ache today , I did do some washing this morning and got it dried but im leaving it till tomorrow to iron , to be honest I neither have the energy or can be bothered with it .
Have a good day ladies I doubt any of us will be going anywhere , Gem best to just ring your Mum only go out if you really must xxIm not fat just 6ft too small
