Enfys, that must have been scary. I wonder what your body is reacting to?
I hope you managed to keep the CG amused Nana, and your mind off things.
Plant, my mum is watching the snooker on BBC2 every day. She has been to The Crucible once with my dad, and The Barbican once with my ex. She enjoyed it but says it is much better on the TV screen!
OH wanted to go to The Barbican once, as she did with Wimbledon.
When I got and switched on the TV home it came onto the snooker. They were talking about someone being taken ill! I texted OH, worried, and when there was a break she texted back to say 3 people had been taken out during the match! Thank goodness none of them were her, but very worrying for those involved.

My little cat is failing I think. Last weeks antibiotic hasn't made much difference. She is eating on and off, but shes very clingy, and the tablets to control the fluid build up due to her heart, which were working well, seem to have stopped working' The leaking of fluid which no one could explain when it happened a few months ago has started again. Puppy pads everywhere including on our knees when we cuddle her. I was sad to find two bleeding patches on her back when I came home today. You may remember her having a radical fur shaving last February for her knots. It hasn't grown back in some areas. I think she must have fallen off a windowsill or something and grazed the delicate skin on her back. I have bathed it and she's asleep on me at the moment. I have a lot to be getting on with, but she needs me. I have made a vets appointment for tomorrow morning. Our vet is away until Monday, but I'm not sure its fair to wait that long.

I still don't know how GD2 is today. They didn't answer the phone this morning - hopefully because the shop was full of customers clamouring to be served. I'll try again later.

Enfys - how scary to wake up with your tongue swollen. I wonder if it's in any way connected to your neck problem. I'd mention it to the osteopath in any case. Yes, I think osteopathy is gentler, and comparing what my osteopath says/does compared with the chiropractic my OH went to he seemed to work with my body, rather than trying to get it to conform to a 'desirable' state. I hope the car comes back all nice and fixed without ruining your bank balance. I agree, it can seem like a bit of damage, but can be hard to mend.

Nanto - glad you weren't stumbling though the dark. We have street lamps but they're few and far between - there's one at the end of our cul de sac which doesn't give much light at all, but a couple of us have motion sensor lights which come on if someone happens to walk past, so they don't fall in the potholes.

Nana I hope the little ones are ok and not running you ragged. xx

Gem - poor little kitty. I can understand you being worried about her, and I think you're doing the right thing taking her tomorrow. It's lovely that she wants you and doesn't just want to go off in a corner on her own - she sounds a little sweetie. I would be the same - give her the cuddles. xxx

I've been a busy bee in the kitchen today. We've got visitors for the day on Sunday so I've made a cake and an apple pie, with pastry left over to make some mince pies later on. I've done a few loads of washing - but the dreaded ironing is still piling up. Even worse - I need to defrost and clean out the chest freezer before the dog food order arrives on Saturday. I can't face doing the freezer today - it's just too cold! We'll be out all day Friday - our first Christmas lunch, at a hotel in Bournemouth, and I know I won't feel like doing much when we get home. There's always tomorrow.

Oh Gem leave everything. Poor little kitty needs you more. Do you think her time has come? It's heart breaking when they get to this stage in their lives. Xxx

Enfys those little jobs are always bigger than our men folk think so just as well you insisted in professional help 😀

Daisy does Freezer really need defrosting or could you just sort out for now? It's a big job defrosting when you have guests coming xx

Nana hope GC are settled now and mummy will be home soon xx

Just been to Sainsburys. I was there this morning and seen some cushions I liked but couldn't justify spending money on them this time of year. Then this afternoon B said why don't you use your Nectar points and get them or you will regret it
Good idea and just as well I did as they only had the two left when I got there. They are large sort of off white fur with Stags heads on. They will go well with my Sofa. Plus they didn't cost anything using my points My type of shopping

Forgot to say Enfys could it be something you are drinking or eating? When it makes your tongue swell I would see Dr again that could be dangerous xx

Good heavens Enfys, you are certainly having a rough time at the moment, I wonder if it’s got anything to do with all the stresses you are going through?

Gem so so sorry to hear that kitty isn’t well , it’s so hard when our pets can’t tell you how they are feeling. Hope the vet is able to help tomorrow.

We spent most of the morning waiting for a plumber to arrive ( toilet cistern was making a dreadful noise every time we flushed it , rather like a ships fog horn ) , he was due at 8 am, arrived just after 1 pm . It’s fixed now, all that was needed was a new washer and ballcock .

We are putting up the Christmas tree tomorrow and judging by the houses in the street we will be one of the last to do so .
When I was a child mum and dad never decorated till Christmas Eve night when I was tucked up in bed as , according to them, Father Christmas did it after he had filled our stockings. What a busy man he is !
It was lovely coming down in the morning and seeing the tree and all the streamers mind , so magical for little ones. There would be a real tree in the sitting room , streamers , paper bells and balloons hanging from the ceiling, even the hall got decorated.
Mum would never allow holly and mistletoe in doors until Christmas Day as she claimed it was bad luck
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Just a thought Enfys, could it be something you are allergic to, have you any antihistamines you could take till you are able to see or speak to a dr ?

My goodness what a lot has been going on today. I’m about to go to Pilates so can’t reply individually but I do hope those not 100% or worrying about people or pets feel better soon.xx

Enfys....I hope that your mouth is now easier than it was and that you've got something to reduce the swelling if it happens again. It sounds like an allergic reaction to me. I swell up if I have something that I'm allergic to and it can be quite scary when it happens in the middle of the night, so I do sympathise with you. Hope the visit to the osteopath helps. I certainly thought he helped me when I had shoulder problems...helped sort out a hip problem as well!

Gem, I'm sad that your little cat seems to be failing. Will be thinking about you tomorrow x

Hope Nana isn't too kna****** with the GC!

Been for OH's 2 monthly check up today. His medication has been stopped for 2 weeks and then he's on a reduced dose to see if that helps get rid of the side effects he's been having. His bloods are OK though he did have a good look at the results before he said it. OH sees neurologist next month and I'm not optimistic about the outcome there, but we shall just have to wait and see.

Going to get my beard waxed tomorrow........how does chin appear overnight ?

Have a good evening ladies and keep warm xx

Such a lot going on Nana thinking of you, hope the boys are helping to keep your mind occupied.

Enfys, I feel it must be an allergy, this swelling of the face and now tongue, can you tie it down to anything.

Wee Granny, Hope the change of tablet dose helps your OH's health.

A good buy there Oma, it is nice to get something for nothing.

Gemini, It does sound as if your little kitty is nearing the end. It would be nice if she passed away naturally. I think it must be better to watch snooker on the TV, the camera coverage is so good, but being there you experience the atmosphere, I hope OH enjoyed it.

Off to a local eatery in an hour to celebrate GD!'s 26th birthday. there will be 11 of us. Must start to get ready.

Oma - I agree. It's heartbreaking when our furry ones reach a great age and you can't help worrying about them when they're ill.

Plant - enjoy your GD's birthday feast and wish her Happy Birthday from us Grannies.

Many years ago snooker championships used to be held at the Bournemouth International Centre and for some reason we had complimentary tickets. I felt quite guilty, because I've no real interest in snooker and we had seats right at the front, but really keen fans, who'd paid for their tickets were further away from the action. But, having said that - it was more interesting being there, and also being able to see two matches being played at the same time, plus you could always look at the TV monitors if you wanted a close up.

WeeGranny - I'm pleased to hear your OH's blood results were ok. One less thing to worry about. Let's hope reducing the medication will get rid of the side effects he's been having. Everything I have is crossed for the results from the neurologist next month. xx

Mimi - I'm glad the plumbing problem was relatively straightforward - and hopefully not too expensive. What a lovely memory, coming down on Christmas morning to find presents and the tree decorated. Santa certainly worked hard in those days.

Oma - sadly the freezer does need defrosting and tidying out. Basically it's the dog food freezer, and I foolishly ordered extra this month, just in case the weather is bad and the company can't make the January delivery (it's based in Devon and they can get snowed in). I also like to give it a regular clean out. Even though everything is in sealed containers and frozen I like to make sure nothing spilled or anything, especially as I sometimes put things like milk and a spare loaf for us in there! Your new cushions sound very festive - glad you didn't miss out on them.

Enfys - how are you now? I hope the swelling has gone down. xx

My challenge for tomorrow is OH wants me to take a photo of a hologram for him to put something on a well-known auction site. Not something I've ever tried before and I think it will either be easy-peasy or one of those tiresome jobs that whatever you do it's not quite right. Generally he does his own photos. I used to spend hours doing them for him, but it's his hobby, not mine, and photographically it was soul-destroying. So I showed him how to do them himself and how to tweak them, size them and upload them. This is the first time he's asked for help for ages.

Sunshine - is it this Friday you go on your pre-Christmas cruise? I remember you saying you get back a few days before Christmas, and I've just realised that time is flying by.

                              Good morning everyone.
Nan2, beautiful photos, that pink sky is exactly what I can see right now from my bedroom as I sit here drinking my morning tea!

I hope everyone is well today, and the day holds something good for you.

Little cat seems a lot better. The fluid has gone I think and the sore spots look to be healing. Last night she ate one and a bit cat food pouches and quite a lot of OH's fish from the fish and chip shop. I am going to cancel this morning's vet appointment and take her to our regular vet who has been treating her, next week .

I might be able to get some cards written this morning if she is less clingy!
My mum is going to see her friend this afternoon. I will do her shopping then drop her off there for a couple of hours.

                              Happy Wednesday ladies.

Well done little cat. Will your mum miss the snooker or will they watch it together Gemini?

Lovely pictures Nanto, we are having some lovely sunsets, not up early enough for sunrises.

Aqua for me this morning, I will pop back later.
