Good morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here - but less than 5 minutes ago it was torrential rain! I thought it was November, not April.

Nana - enjoy your week in the Lakes. Get plenty of rest - you need it after last week. xx

Oma - nothing to do! You must be slacking, girl. Did you sleep ok again?

Gem - I'm glad you knee isn't so painful today, and hopefully you won't have to carry all your equipment too far. I'm sure your ex-neighbour looks forward to your visit as well as the treatment.

Plant - so glad little GGD's feeding has been sorted out. I'm sure things will be much easier now. Fun and cuddles sound the perfect way to spend an afternoon with your GGCs.

I think my GDs are ready to go back to school! GD1 has her nose firmly attached to her Fire. She doesn't know yet that she's not going to be using it all day! GD2 is being a 'pickle'. She forgot to clean her teeth before getting dressed and then managed to spread pink and blue toothpaste all over her favourite white bolero type cardigan and her white t-shirt.. I managed to clean up the t-shirt but the cardi had to go in the wash, even though it was the only thing in her whole wardrobe that she really, really wanted to wear. Grandma failed to work miracles though!!

I hope everyone's day goes well.

Daisy, my client/friend/ex neighbour and I have lovely chats. We are both theatre lovers. When either I retire or he stops booking me, I hope we will still meet up once a month or so.
Yes I think the girls are maybe ready to go back to school

What a situation to be in. The cottage we're renting is on two levels. Lounge upstairs. I knew this when we booked. What I didn't know was the gradient of the stairs. They're steep & without carpet so awful to use. The owner refuses to refund our money, even tho the description is misleading. I either go home (OH comes back) or go up & downstairs on my backside for the rest of the week. All I wanted was a stress free week.😢

Nana - what a disappointment! Of course you will survive, but that's not the point of a holiday. If you do shuffle down the stairs make sure you've got a nice comfy cushion or pillow to sit on!

Nanto - pleased to hear your in laws are ok. I bet they were pleased to see you. x

                    Afternoon all.

Nana hardy the makings of a stress from holiday is it . Hopefully the rest of your holiday will more than make up for the disappointment of those flipping stairs!

Oma, do my eyes deceive me, you are having a lazy day?

Yesterday we went out for Sunday lunch with OH’s and her husband. We went to a country pub and it’s a good job SIL booked as the place was packed. Because of all the rain we have had almost half of the car park was still flooded so BIL had to drop us off near the pub entrance while he parked in a fairly deep puddle.
Lunch was lovely and I had sticky toffee pudding for afters , a rare treat as I hardly ever have afters.

I have spent the day looking on line for Christmas present ideas but haven’t got very far .
Just a thought when can we shout out
Christmas , is it too soon ?
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Morning all, another miserable day. I need to get on with some housework today, bathrooms certainly. Bowls this afternoon, I know I will not feel like turning out. Had a good game of bowls and enjoyed seeing bowling friends.

Nana, I am really sorry to hear you are disappointed with the cottage you are renting. I hate steep winding stairs.

Hello everyone.I’m back from deepest Hertfordshire. Feeling rather tired and lonely as OH is no great company, only in a physical sense. I do miss the family.
We ,well I really, had a lovely noisy time with them all which makes me miss them even more.

I hope everyone is okay.I’ve had a quick skim through but too much to comment on individually.

The estimate for my roof repair came through.A large sum even without VAT! I contacted the house insurers and as I can’t prove it’s storm damage, which to be quite honest it probably isn’t, I can’t make a claim. Hey-ho must be done though or I’ll have an even bigger bill.

My BIL is still in hospital and stressing my sister as she says he seems to be getting “ institutionalised” It’s another 3 weeks before they next take his plaster off and assess him.

                        Best wishes to all

Mimi, it is November, I think it is fine to say Christmas out loud now

Clover, the contrast of a lovely noisy family time, with just you and OH back at home must be hard to adjust to.
I'm sure you will but it can't be easy. Focus on the next time you will be together if you can xx
