      Good morning all.

Thank you for my scary email , it was so thoughtful of you all.

      How are things with everyone.
We have been busy these past few days.
We took eldest son out for lunch on Monday as it was his birthday and he had the day off so we thought we’d take advantage of it.
Tuesday and Wednesday we were in the garden tidying it up , well as much as you can this time of year as I think Autumn tends to make every thing outside dull , damp and miserable.
Tomorrow DD, SIL and two youngest GS’s are coming up from Cardiff.

Enfys how are the painful ribs? Good to see that P is feeling well.

Daisy !!! What’s with the bad language. Ironing that’s considered a bad word in this house hold . 😉😆

Gem your evening out sounds wonderful.

We had a lovely weekend in York a few years ago and York Minster was one of the first places we visited.

      Have a good day everyone

Thanks for your compliments re the quilt. I'm getting there. It's on hold now til Monday. I made a mistake in my tick list. Said GS1 was coming for a sleepover. In fact it's GS1, GS3 & mummy. 😨💞

Nanto - you sound very relaxed. I'm pleased you're getting good weather.

Mimi -you have been a busy bee. I agree it's a bad word to use - that's why I typed it small! But don't worry - I haven't started on it yet.

Nana - oh my goodness - your tick list gets longer by the minute. Don't over do things.

Nana, is the quilt for a bed? I am going to a class next week hoping to make a Christmas table runner which is quilted. Fabric all cut by the instructor, ready to go. I have also been making felt flowers for a decorated tree for WI. Flowers on a Christmas Tree (village competition in the church) mmm no sure, but that is what was decided. We were second last year and first the year before.

Aqua morning for me, very active class today, then lunch in my favourite cafe.

I need to go to the tip WG, can't go tomorrow and weekend it will be busy so next week sometime. Have a nice time with DD.

            Enjoy your evening out Gemini.

We will not get any little people calling this evening Daisy, no pumpkin out and being up a track they don't call here. I expect the children are excited.

Oma, I am sure your friends will be pleased with your help sorting out the kitchen and poles going up.

              Good morning ladies
A wet and dismal one here. 3 dry days had seen the river go down a lot, but now it will rise again unless the rain stops.
GD and GS2 are coming today. We planned lunch at our favourite cafe then the park, but it will be far to soggy for the park.

The York Minster event last night was fantastic. I am always proud to live in York and I love the Minster. So good to be there at night and par of something so special.

All this active aqua must be doing you good Plant.
Mimi, what a busy bee you have been! I hope you enjoy the time with your family.
I'm sure your friends will love their flat Oma, it sounds very like the new one my auntie has moved to.

              Have a good day everyone.

Good Friday morning to everyone. Don't the weeks fly by!

My car's going in for a service today. The garage we bought it from said they'd serviced it but they gave us no documentation, and we're not at all sure what they did - if anything. So today it's going to be pampered at our local Skoda garage. So a day around the house for me. It looks very damp and dreary outside, and there's no incentive to go out.

Gem - The evening at the Minster sounds wonderful. Definitely not to be missed. I hope you don't get too much rain today. Enjoy your lunch out with GD and GS2, even if the park's too wet.

Plant - your table runner sounds interesting. I've got fabric left over from having our dining chairs recovered and I'd thought about a table runner - but have no idea how to do it. A flowering Christmas tree should be very pretty and certainly different.

Grauntie - how are your craft projects going?

Nana - I hope today's sleepover on your tick list goes well. Try and give yourself a break if you can. I know that's not easy!

Mimi - have a lovely day with DD and family. Are they staying or just with you for the day? I'm sure you'll have lots of fun.

Enfys - it's probably as dreary for you as us this morning - a good day to get on with that knitting. I hope all is well.

Good morning all. How did Halloween go in your neck of the woods.
Like I suspected there was trouble from the ‘big kids’ yet again this year. Fortunately our side of the street wasn’t involved.
Pumpkins that had been put out on doorsteps have been smashed in the gardens and on the pavements. Tinned coloured string has been sprayed over doors and cars .
Its surprising to see the difference in either side of the street . The only conclusion we can come to is that a group of teenagers live in a few of the houses that have been effected and during the school holidays there was a lot of arguing with others further down the street so perhaps they were targeted.

November already , it’s Christmas next month!!!

Daisy they are just coming for the day . It will be lovely to see them .

I hope you have all recovered from Halloween. Sounds like fun was had in your street Mimi!

Wish I lived nearer Daisy, I perhaps could show you how to use that fabric to make a table runner.

Miserable here atm, have to go to the local hospital to pick up and have made up a prescription for my heart fibrulation. Then I will go onto Waitrose for food shopping.

I would love to go to York again and for longer, you do live in a lovely City Gemini and you do appreciate it. I am sorry not to have visited the Minster but there was a service taking place.

Good morning, sorry to have not been anwering or posting, but, there is a reason! I went with both DSs and families for a long weekend away, a LONG drive, traffic, delays etc and my car decided not to start when I stopped! Arrived at the house and got the service out and they ordered a new battery for me, long story cutting short, then next day, same problem, wouldn't start! How I managed to find the garage in the small villages of Friesland I do not know, but, I did. The owner was so helpful and came to the conclusion that it was the clutch switch, I didn't now there was one. He showed me how to start it and I coped all the weekend, enjoyed the weekend, we all did, went to a seal hospital/sanctuary on Sunday, I took the girls there 5 years ago so knew they would enjoy it. In the evenings playing games was a success, they all left on Sunday evening to get home in time for work and school the next morning. I stayed and left Monday, phoned the poor garage man first to ask if it was safe, he said it was and if I had the same problem on my way home I had to phone him and he would talk me through it, then phoned my dealer and he told me to call in on the way home. It was a 3 hour drive but went smoothly and no problem, only when I stopped to use the toilet and I had to start again but I arrived home safely then went to the dealer and he put new rubbers in the clutch switch so the nice man in the garage was right!

I have been ill since though, I am allergic to dogs, cats etc, had to find a home for my own dog a few years ago, I felt in the day we arrived in the house and on the Saturday I mentioned it but DIL said it was a dog free home, it wasn't!!!! I didn't make it a problem as it would spoil everyones weekend, so came home to suffer, I could hardly get my breath at times so went to the doctor at 8am this mornig, she said it is very close to phneumonia, got antibiotics and a spray to help me cope, got to go back next week and let her listen again to see that it has cleared. So I now hope I on the way to recovery.

That's the trouble when you don't know if anyone has had pets in a place , even if its very clean hairs can linger everywhere ,

Thanks Oma, I should have taken more notice really, never mind, I
                            will recover!!!

Lizzie - when I posted earlier I nearly asked if you were ok, but then thought you might just have been away. What a time you've had with the car and the pet hair. Thank goodness you're now safely back home and hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quickly. I read somewhere it can take 7 years to totally get rid of pet hairs in a house.

Oma - it sounds a lot wetter up there than here, but I'm sure we'll get our share eventually. Could the rash be an allergy?

Plant - I wished we lived closer to each other as well - not just for help with my table runner (although that would be fun).

I'm having a lazy day. I even watched the Wales v New Zealand rugby match with OH for a while. Poor OH, his team losing twice in a row!

Lizzie, not a nice experience for you with the car and then to suffer badly from a reaction to the animal hairs.

Didn't watch the match Daisy, Wales probably need some new blood. Of course I will be watching the match tomorrow, must set the alarm.

Called at the hospital for my prescription and then went on to Waitrose, saw GD and her partner (they are looking after boyfriends Grandma, parents are away). I called into the new Aldi which is quite close, bought some wine and their version of J cloths. I don't think I will be changing my allegiance.
