I wonder why there is no graphic on my first post this morning.
Something must have gone wrong somewhere.

Nana, nothing in the slow cooker today. When i se it,i like to fill it up.
Then i can freeze some, but i don't have enough room in either freezer to do some batch cooking.
Yes,its fish and chips for dinner today. We only have fish, when its from the fish shop.
Although, i always keep some fish fingers in,we like those.

    Oma,hope the scan goes well.

Forgot to say,the sun is shining. It was quite warm walking back from in laws.

Good morning, terrific storm here last night, thunder and lightening and heavy rain. Just had another very heavy downpour and it looks like more in in the way.

Nan2, there was a lovely graphic from you this morning, very autumnal,

Thank you everyone for your concern, I’m still sore but Definately a bit better than yesterday. I had a good nights sleep and feeling a bit stiff but otherwise not so bad. My fingers are very swollen but not so sore so I’m on the mend. Luckily I heal quite quickly. P is not too bad, he has a bit more energy today and is moving about more.

We have no plans for today. Should have had a check up at the dentist but I changed it a few days ago as I knew DH wouldn’t feel up to it so that was lucky. Hope everyone is feeling well, have a good day 🌞

Nanto - I can see your graphic too. Can you see it now? We have been doing some work behind the scenes, so it might have affected it in some way.

Oma - I was typing when you posted! I hope the scan goes well. Isn't parking at hospitals a nightmare - especially at visiting time.

Enfys - we had the rain last night but I didn't hear any thunder - neither did Eva or she would have let us know. I hope it wasn't too bad. Pleased to hear you're well on the mend, and that P is feeling a bit more energetic. How much longer does this round of chemo last?

Maybe something technical, but when I try to log on to GRU, the home page has new typeface and won't let me log in. But, if I go to Forums, the old typeface appears and I can log in! Am I the only weird one ? On second thoughts don't answer that!!!

Good afternoon all. What a horrible wet day it has been so far . When it rains, boy, it certainly rains!
I had an X-ray done at the hospital this morning and when we came outside it was chucking it down and it had turned really cold .
We weren’t long in town , we just brought a birthday card and OH brought himself some pyjamas, after a lot of nagging on my part as I refused to wash his tatty old ones any more.

Oma hope you aren’t kept waiting too long for your scan this afternoon.

Enfys good to hear that you are feeling a little better today and P has a bit more energy.

Daisy I thought it was only me who felt good with a cupboard stocked up with ‘ winter ‘ foods.
I have several tins of soup , chunky ‘big’ soup , tin potatoes, beans and even tins of rice pudding.
I think it goes back to when we were first married and we didn’t have a freezer . I would have these sort of things as a backup in case we had a lot of snow and wasn’t able to get out . It’s silly really as we now have a huge freezer full of food. Old habits die hard I suppose.

Have a a good day ladies

Afternoon .Hope all your days are going to plan.

I think I mentioned I’ve got a leak coming from the lintel over the window in the bedroom. Well the original roofer(who arrived without a ladder) never got back to me. I know the weather hasn’t been that suitable for roof climbing but I thought I should have heard something.
While we were out yesterday I had a virtual flood on the window sill despite a towel being there.
Today I phoned another roofer who is Which recommended but they are so busy no- one can come until Wednesday. I’ll just have to cope until then and hope for better weather. The thing is we are going away to DDs the following Sunday so I hope at least they can make a temporary repair. I do miss OH coping with things like this.It really rubs our situation in.

We did have a nice day yesterday though OH doesn’t even remember enjoying the coffee and cake we had. I bought 3 jumpers for OH. Two were from George at Asda and I was pleased to find all clothes were 25% off.I also bought myself a new pair of short wellies as I use them in the garden and my old ones have split. Okay for gardening but no use for walking in the rain.

I hope those not 100% for any reason are on the road to recovery.

Busy here with GS2, so I will catch up with you all later.

Is anyone else having a problem seeing graphics? All is fine for me.

No problem here with the graphics.

Clover, have you ever tried getting tradespeople through Checkatrade? We’ve used it a few times and have been very pleased. I had trouble recently getting someone to service our boiler, but the person I contacted through them was very good. Might be worth thinking about.

Pleased you both enjoyed your day out yesterday even if G can’t remember it now, you can. Nice to,get some bargains too. I had a nice delivery today, 2 skirts I had bought from EBay and some tights I had ordered from a new to me site that produces tights in all heights, weights and sizes. Very pleased with all my purchases.

Well I had a lovely couple of days with the delightful little Noah unfortunately my little DGD did not come to play as she was a bit off colour so her daddy put her back to bed for a sleep & he took the opportunity of putting his feet up for an hour or two.
The laptop I am using is the very first one I ever bought and for some reason after being switched off for such a long time has sprung back to life well it would now that I have ordered a new one !!
This week-end we are spending time clearing the back garden now we have taken up the last of the potatoes we have had a nice crop this year not a lot mind you but so so nice we are looking at tomatoes and strawberries for next year we only have a tiny plot but we enjoy the growing process x
The weather certainly does not look like improving here by the River we are plagued by seagulls at the minute some are so big and quite scary when you see them waddling over the sand dune dips not too far from our house Dolly the dopey basset does not know what to make of them and just stops and stare's I don't know what she would do if one approached her though.I will keep my fingers crossed my laptop keeps up until new one arrives and wish everyone a good week-end.xx glamma xx

Just a quick reply to WeeGranny and Nanto.

We've been installing our SSL certificate and the final adjustments weren't made on out control panel until sometimes this morning (I can't remember the exact time without checking back) but it may be that you 'caught' the moment when something was changing.

If you've got a minute would you both try logging out, clearing your browser's cache and logging back in. I've just posted about this in the Official Gransrus Area

We're very pleased to announce that GransRus has now got an SSL certificate. :D This is just another added layer of security, and in fact we were talking about it about recently on this thread. https://gransrus.com/forum/main-foru...secure-heading (https://gransrus.com/forum/main-forum/136738-not-secure-heading) Please

Hopefully that will do the trick, but do let me know if it doesn't.

Glamm - what a pity your little DGD wasn't well enough to play, but she probably needed the sleep. I hope she's ok now. Fingers crossed your old laptop keeps going until you get the replacement. Your little veggie plot sounds lovely, and it's great to enjoy really fresh produce. I shall miss our allotment next year, but we can't maintain it any longer, and our garden doesn't get enough sun in one place to grow more than a few tomatoes. I can just picture Dolly watching the giant seagulls stalking over the sand dunes. Eva pretty much ignores them, but Cooper stalks them (well he is a gun dog breed!)

Clover, we've used CheckaTrade as well, and everyone has been good apart from one chap who never got back to us at all! It's worth a try. I've just asked my OH and he said if the window's double glazed you need a double glazing repair firm, if not just a general builder. Have you got neighbours who could recommend someone reliable? I'm glad you enjoyed your day out and got some bargains as well.

Enfys - I never think of shopping on eBay. It sounds as though the tights firm is a useful contact to have.

Oma - you've got to love auto-correct, haven't you! How did the scan go?

Mimi - I try and keep things in the store cupboard or freezer so on my lazy days I can put a meal on the table with the least possible effort. Haute cuisine it ain't, but sometimes it has to do!
