    Afternoon all .
I have been busy this morning, In between chatting to neighbours I have cleaned the windows, dead headed the flowers in the front garden and got lots of washing on the line which means I can put my feet up this afternoon and watch Wimbledon

WeeGranny the garden furniture looks really comfortable

Plant so sorry to hear that your eye is still painful

Nan2 I sympathise with you with the non sleep malarkey, most of the weekend I have struggled to get any sleep, flipping hay fever has been keeping me awake.

Enfys good to see you and OH had a wonderful time in Devon . Welcome home

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Been one heck of a busy day. Done a shift at in laws.
      Came home,had a quick cuppa.
Cut half of the grass, then broke off for food.
Finished the grass then had a lovely refreshing shower.

Weather is a mix of sun, cloud and wind. Quite cool when the sun clouds over.

Good afternoon all. Much cooler here today but still lots of sunshine this afternoon. DH has been busy fitting little lights at the edge of the decking, he says he wants to get jobs done whilst he is still able ☹️. It looks lovely. He looks and feels so well, it’s hard to remember what’s going on inside.

We also had a couple of chaps round to look at doing our hedges etc this year. We weren’t happy with the two we had last year but these two seemed very nice and knowledgable, a father and son team. We have someone else supposed to be coming later so then we can make a decision. I want someone I can feel happy with and be able to contact whenever I need something doing, I can cope with small jobs in the garden but the hedge cutting would be too much for me.

Also dog sitting for one mad dog! He’s just been chasing around with a squeaky toy, got a bee in his bonnet from somewhere...now flaked out on the tiles.

Hope your eye is improving Plant. Lovely garden furniture WG.... looks very comfy.

Good morning, Gem, and all who follow. Make the most of your last day - I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.

My usual manic Tuesday, but I'll pop in later if I get a minute.

It's a glorious sunny day again - hope it's the same for everyone.

Hope to hear from you later Daisy.

Nanto, love the graphic. Pleased you had a better nights sleep, enjoy the sunshine.

I watched a bit of Wimbledon yesterday, I hesitate to say eye felt slightly better. Have to pop out for a few bits this morning, perhaps more tennis later. GD1 and her boyfriend are off to Port Isaac for a few days, very envious I am not going to Cornwall this year but I have my Yorkshire holiday to look forward to in a couple of weeks.

Ladies, the garden furniture is very comfy, but need a blanket as the cushions are waterproof so make you a bit sweaty!

Thank you all for my Birthday wishes. Another year older......

Don't know what's in the air at the moment, but after years of not suffering from hay fever ( was desensitised ) I'm really paying for it this year! Off to the chemist shortly to see what they can give me.

Warm and sunny here....hope it is the same where you are!

                        Enjoy your day ladies xx

                          Morning Grannies

Back from our time with family.Always an anti climax from a busy household to virtual silence. Feeling a bit down but to be expected I suppose.

Good drying weather leads to piles of ironing which I ‘m leaving until I’m in the mood.

Hope everyone is well and ticking along nicely.

I’ve had to contact someone to do two minor repairs on the guttering and clean out some weeds I can see growing. He’s coming on Saturday.I still hate having to do this sort of thing, sorting out workmen etc.

Grass cutting is planned for this afternoon and I’ll have to start in the front as I don’t want to miss my Tesco delivery. No idea what to do for tea tonight, perhaps something in the shopping will give me some inspiration

Clover I bet it sounds so quiet till you get back into the swing of things ,
Your doing a marvellous job of sorting things G used to do , give yourself a pat on the back , its not a easy job but your managing , you can do more than you think well done xx

WG , GS1 is starting to get a bit hay fever he's never had before , came home from school yesterday and I had to give him antihistamine 's they were cutting the grass at school and he said his eyes were itchy and he couldn't stop sneezing , His Dad suffers from it badly this time of year but we thought GS1 had gotten away with it seems not ,
The pollen count has been high these past weeks hasn't it .

Went to Morrisons this morning for fresh bread , came out with two Fushia plants full of flowers and buds 48p each as they were the last two and a yellow Lily 98p
Love to see lily's in the garden but not in the house , They will get planted out later im giving them a good water first so as not to shock them when re planted ,

Bin man just been so im off now to hose the bin out in this weather they tend to get a bit stinky don't they
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Still very warm here. Have popped out quickly to get a few supplies for when DS etc come this afternoon. Most importantly, English sweets for DGS 😋
They are not staying with, we don’t really have room and I think they felt it best to be stay somewhere else as her parents are local too and they wouldn’t want to upset anyone. DS doesn’t get on too well with them so we shall see how it goes, better to be apart I think. At this time of year they only get a coup,e of weeks hols so they are fitting in visits to Paris and Florence so will only be here for a week. That’s fine, it will be lovely to see them. We are all having a takeaway at DDs this evening and Will (Gs) is having a sleepover there. He’s looking forward to spending time with his big cousin and playing FIFA!

well done. Clover, on tackling those jobs. It’s hard to take over from a DH. P gets cross when he sees me having to do stuff he would normally have done....he has also put together a tool box with small tools I might need....later, don’t want to go there, but he insisted 🙁. We have another chap coming round in Sunday to talk about the hedges, then we can make our decision.

off now to push the hoover round, then lunch. Haven’t had time to cut the grass but green bin is full anyway so that will have to wait.

Nanto - I'm sure you feel better for getting a better night's sleep.

Plant - hopefully the rock will disappear quickly now it's started to feel a bit better. I hope GD1 and her boyfriend have a lovely time in Port Isaac - it's a good job you've got your trip to Yorkshire to look forward to.

Clover - no wonder it feels like a bit of an anti climax after spending time in a busy teenage household. I know you miss them, too. You're doing brilliantly sorting out all those horrible jobs that need workmen. It's not easy and you have to find people you can trust. Let me know what you get for dinner - I need inspiration, too.

I really sympathise with the hay fever sufferers. My DS1 and DIL both suffer from it. I remember when DS1 was doing his A Levels I arranged for him to take them in a room where there would be no sun, as that affected him and made it much worse.

Oma - have a lovely afternoon with GD and the birthday boy. I'm glad you're getting close to feeling human again. You did well with the bargain plants. I love Fuchsias. By the way, the lovely plant you gave me is still a mass of really pretty white flowers.

I think I would really hate to have to have a wheelie bin. We have black sacks for general rubbish and clear ones for recycling and they are collected every week.

Cooper is currently lying on my feet, snoring, and Eva is stretched out on the landing where she can keep an eye on me and OH! They've worn each other out playing all morning!

I think I will have a very excited little GD2 this afternoon. They've been on a school trip, looking at bugs and insects in a lake, a meadow and woodland. She's fascinated by them, so I'm expecting lots of exciting bug stories!

                                Edit:

Enfys - our posts crossed. I'm sure you will have a lovely week spending time with your Aussie family. It will be strange to GS, I'm sure, as he probably doesn't remember much about the UK. He'll have lots to tell his friends when he gets back there. It's probably better they're staying elsewhere - the last thing you want is any family upsets. Our Aussie friends who are in the UK at the moment had to take their children out of school for a week and a half because they don't have much holiday now. Enjoy your evening at DDs, and take lots of photos this week. Sending hugs. xxx
