That’s strange, I thought I’d put a long post on here earlier.....obviously I did something wrong. So here goes again....

Arrived home yesterday after a great week away, weather not too bad. We had a few short showers but nothing to spoil our days. Used the hot tub a lot 😀, so relaxing. So nice to spend time with the family especially as DGD goes back to Oz tomorrow.

Amongst the post waiting for us was Ps scan appointment...on my birthday, so no lunch out for us that day 😕. Will make up for it later.

Shopping and washing all done, lawn needs cutting but I think I’ll do that tomorrow. Have a good day everyone 🌞

DD3 and SIL are at their friend's house in London
Tomorrow is DD's birthday, so she will spend that with London friends, then back on Monday for the family get together.

Enfys, do you Preview your posts? I often do, and on the odd occasion must have forgotten to then Post, and like you I look back for it later and it's not there! It's easy to do that if you are in a hurry and don't check it has posted.
Good to hear you had a lovey holiday. I hate it when hospital appointments spoil a special day. Celebrate the day before or after!
Washing out here too Mimi. sunny but very windy so lots of pegs needed!

It is the annual scarecrow festival in our village this weekend, including Monday. Not sure when we will have a walk round to see some, but we will at some point. Today's windy weather is not so good for them

A bit too late for 'good morning', I'm afraid.

We've just waved the Omas off on their much needed holiday. It's cold and windy, but the sun is shining, so I think they felt in holiday mood. It was so lovely to see them, and if Oma found any unscrubbed bits of skirting board she kindly didn't mention it!! Apart from me setting the house on fire, all went well.

It was great to meet Mr Oma at long last, and he looked very well indeed, especially after over 8 hours of driving to get down here. We had a nice relaxed evening and a chance for more chat and laughs over breakfast this morning. It was sad waving them off, but at least it's for a good reason. Have a wonderful time, you two lovely people. xx

Gem, enjoy your evening out - what a kind friend, and she obviously appreciates your hospitality. The excitement must be mounting by the minute today. What time do DD3 and SIL land? I'm sure she'll be on the phone straight away. Lovely that Monday is a Bank Holiday and you can celebrate her return home together. Pleased to hear GS2 was such a good boy. I love my GD1 being the age she is, and I can imagine what a great chat you and your GD had.

Nanto - thanks for the sunshine. It arrived safely on a stiff breeze!

Qwerty - what a shame you aren't there in Spain to see the Omas. but hopefully there will be other chances to show them round your new life in the sun. Enjoy your quiet week-end - sometimes it's exactly what we need.

Mimi, Qwerty - I think a lot of people didn't vote on Thursday - the turnout here was less than 35%!

Mimi - your sensible shoes sound very trendy - and everyone in the fashion know is wearing trainers with everything these days, so comfort rules at long last.

Plant - it's a good job your DD has got the distraction of her GS and his soon to be brother or sister. She's had her nest occupied and busy for a long time - it must seem very strange to her.

Gem - that's great news. I'm sure they're very happy to be back in the UK, no matter how much they've enjoyed their Canadian experience.

Sunshine and showers here and VERY windy! Washing on line has been rinsed again by the rain, but there's no way I'm rushing out to bring it in. It can stay there until this evening when hopefully it'll be dry.

Hope the Omas aren't having too rough a time on the high seas with this wind.I'm sure you all enjoyed each others company last night Daisy.

Think I may go and bake some shortbread as I don't fancy going out and getting caught in one of these downpours.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend ladies.x

                    Did supermarket shopping this morning.
Then on to the butchers to pick up a pork pie for dad that we had ordered.
Didn't know what to get him for his birthday tomorrow,so the pie is one of his presents.
We had dad written in pastry on top of the pie. He does love his pork pies.
Gave him it today, while it was fresh and still warm.

Still very sunny, but it's cold. We were talking to our niece this morning, and she said SNOW has been forecast for bank holiday monday.

Nanto - what a lovely idea to have the pork pie made personal to FIL.

WeeGranny - I've just checked the local sea forecast, and hopefully Mr and Mrs Oma will have a smooth journey into the Solent - wind Force 4, and sea state moderate to slight. Fingers crossed for them. Tomorrow should be calmer still.

Oma - I might not show my OH your post - what on earth am I going to do with him after he's read your very kind comments!! Eva is resting after working so hard on giving you cuddles and kisses! I've never managed to flambé anything so successfully as those tomatoes! Quite proud of myself. What is your cabin like?

Well, Nanto, it was like this. I was cooking bacon and egg for our lovely guests' breakfast, seeing as how they might not get fed much for the next two weeks. I grilled the bacon and popped it into the oven to keep warm while I grilled tomatoes and fried eggs. And chatted. It never occurred to me that the fat in the bottom of the grill pan would ignite under the tomatoes - but it did! It was like a flame thrower. OH grabbed the grill pan and blew out the last of the flames as all the fat had burned off. By then the tomatoes were cooked!!! Multi-tasking was not one of my skills this morning. Our guests were very brave and didn't dial 999 or dash out of the house clutching their worldly goods.

I've managed to catch up I think. I had to go back to page 265 & now look at the time! Well it's all been happening on here. I won't comment on everything as too much time has elapsed.

Would just like to wish Oma & B a fantastic holiday. You certainly deserve it❣

Will try to write when I can.x

Nana, nice to see you popping in.
