What a lovely sunny morning after the early frost

We got rid of a lot of stuff at the tip. As much as we could in recycling the rest for landfill.
We then came back , collected the leaflets and did our round, which has increased. We met 2 separate people we know along the way and stopped for chats. Once we got home I decided I just want to stay here until it is time to get ready to go to my client. OH can go to the carpet shop alone, but I think she will wait and we'll go another day.

I’ve given up trying to sort out my I-pad until I can get professional advice.Using a split screen is a pain but at least I can still use it

GM, yes thank you I did see your post My problem is not being able to see my typing when it is at the bottom of the screen so I have to deliberately split the screen and use it like that . I can unsplit the screen and use normally when typing is at the top . It’s hard to explain

Nana....Waitrose do spatchcock chickens and I think I've seen them in Sainsbury's too.

Grauntie...... I think you've got to be a certain age, like 74 or 78 before you get the shingles jab! That may have changed by now of course! I think there's also a pneumonia jab when you reach a certain age!

Qwerty.....did you know there's a new series of Shetland starting soon. Was getting withdrawal symptoms from not seeing Mr Henshaw!!

Gem, this afternoon there was a new programme I think called Britain’s Best House? Looking at houses in York and deciding which was the best. I happened to catch the end of it just after 4 o’clock. It’s on all week.

DD1 came this evening with a tale of woe about a cat which has been dumped at her livery yard. DD2 had the last one and we had the one before that. (No longer alive) I would have it in a heartbeat, but I still have my original darling who is now at least 20. She has seen cats and dogs come and go and tolerated them all. I’m not sure she would take kindly to another cat at her age. I will go and see it tomorrow.

Ladies, just a very quick post from me.

When I was 70 you could have both the shingles and the pneumonia jab. There is a small window of opportunity for the shingles jab, and then another one a few years later. I think it's to do with rolling out the vaccinations gradually, and they worked out two or three points in life when you're most at risk, 70 is the first one! How they do this I don't know, but I had both jabs when I was 70 and so did OH.

I haven't had chance to read everyone's news, so I hope you're all ok.

Gem - thanks for passing on the link to the book for Qwerty. I'm hoping GD2 will be well enough for school tomorrow. I little bit of her sparkle was coming back this afternoon. Fingers crossed, she hates missing school, and was very happy to do some reading this afternoon, so I was able to write nice things in her Reading Diary.
