Good morning all
DD looks so tiny on that photo Oma! Mimi, 4'8" is very small Several tiny DDs on here. My youngest is just 5 foot and a size 6. A giant compared to Mimi's DD though
I have a committee meeting at 9.30, which means I need to be here by ten past. No idea how it will go today. Chair has a child ill off school and it looks unlikely she will come. Treasurer can't come (which I knew) but now tells me he will be stepping down as treasurer and the group as it will conflict with his council role with delivering the new library. He has been my rock in my secretary's role and such a good guy. He was my boss when I worked in the council creche and I always liked him, I will miss him!
From the meeting I will go to my mums house. She is having a new gas fire fitted and wants me to be there. I told them I can't be there until 11.
I was originally to go from mums to collect GS1 from school. Now this has been swapped for Thursday which is good for several reasons.
Better get moving!
Have good day all. Don't forget the advent calendar“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

We're back home - more or less in one piece. Actually Cooper is very good in the car, it's just when we get here and he realises Eva is just the other side of the front door!
Gem - what a pity your Treasurer is standing down, but he obviously has to be neutral. I'm sure he will still give advice if asked on an informal basis. I hope you can find another library enthusiast to take over.
I hope your mum is feeling more upbeat today, and looking forward to her lovely new fire.
Nanto - that cup of coffee looks inviting! We have only had the odd shower so far today, and it's quite mild - 10 or 11C.
Mimi - enjoy your lunch - you need a treat after losing that Prosecco! I'll think about you when I'm having my cheese sandwich!!! And you will still have the excitement of a new kitchen bin to look forward to! Santa's come early to the Mimi household.
Qwerty - if you think the cough is like the one that lasted for 3 years perhaps you should go to the doctors and try and stop it in its tracks. Look after yourself. xx
I'm going to try and do some baking now - dogs willing!! Wish me luck."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Mimi my DD has the same problem with dress shoes , she can buy children's clothes too , ok for casual wear but not for Office clothes .
Gem hope your Mum likes the fire when its installed and doesn't decide she doesn't like it after all the trouble of getting it
Daisy good luck with the baking , I wonder how much they manage to steal when you turn your back for a nano second
Been to our Shopping centre this morning and bumped into the world and his wife ' seemed that everyone we knew was out today ,
Went into Sainsburys and im pleased I did , a huge bronze effect stag ornament I wanted had been reduced from £32 to £15 so he was first in the trolley
Missed my Brother while I was out he had called into my Sisters then came to me , so when I got in I phoned him and we had a long chat , then I phoned my Sister to chat , she's full of cold and coughing for England
We keeping away till after Christmas when hopefully all the family are over itIm not fat just 6ft too small

Bit of a sad day today. OH had to take our cockatiel to the vets as he couldn't stand. Just huddled up in the bottom corner of his cage. Kindest thing was to put him to sleep as vet thinks it was a neurological problem.😢"Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Nana, I am sad for you. We pet owners know that sadness, but you did the kindest thing for him xx
Oma, I will update about mums gas fire saga later!
She was much more upbeat today Daisy thank goodness.
This morning's meeting went well, and was short. The members now know our treasurer must leave us and that we will need to refill that role at the AGM at the end of January. One lady will be away on a cruise, poor excuse!
We are going to friends tonight to deliver cards and presents. It is so wet and nasty I wish we could stay in!!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Sorry your cough is no better Qwerty, hope it’s not affecting your sleep as well. Hope you feel better soon. So sad Nana, when we lose a pet, but you did the best for him.
Another very wet day here but luckily we popped out early this morning so missed the worst of it. Sorted out the kitchen cupboards this afternoon and decanted the sloe gin, it’s looks and smells delicious but we resisted. Friends coming for coffee tomorrow morning, they have just come back from 3 months in Australia so we will catch up on all their news."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Nana - I'm so sorry to hear about your cockatiel. I'm sure you will miss him, but it was kinder to let him go. Sending hugs xxxx
Qwerty - poor you. I'd be moaning a lot more if I was feeling that poorly. Coughs are exhausting especially when it seems almost anything can set them off. Is it keeping you awake at night?
Enfys - you know you want to try the sloe gin! How lovely to have done your kitchen cupboards. I need to do some of ours, sooner rather than later as I have nowhere to put Christmas goodies.
Gem, so glad your mum was more cheerful. I hope you can find a new Treasurer before the AGM in January.
Oma - I got some scented candles in Sainsburys a few days ago - all half price. They're discounting most of their Christmas stock by the look of it.
Just got back from dog training. We had lots of games tonight. One was retrieving a sausage back to the owner. Eva brought the sausage back beautifully, the only trouble was I didn't fancy trying to remove it from her stomach!!! She was the Champion at Catch the Treat in Mid-air - no surprise there, and not very good at musical mats (similar to musical chairs!). Still it made a change from the usual things that we do."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
