Qwerty - well done to your OH for sticking with the no smoking effort. It must be hard for both of you.

Nana - I hope you get some sleep tonight, you sound exhausted.

Plant - it sounds as though lunch on Sunday will be a very jolly celebration. But it's a lot to organise. Look forward to seeing some pictures.

Mimi - I can never understand how my children can be in their 40s, when I'm so young still!!

Gem - I hope GD and GS2 have entertained you nicely, and have a bit of a lie in in the morning. xx

Tomorrow night we are celebrating a friend's birthday at another friend's house, and I've said I'll make the birthday cake. I'm very tempted to get two '7' birthday candles (he's 77) or should I just get 'Happy Birthday' candles and give him more to blow out?

DS1 and family are due back home on Sunday afternoon, and we've said we'll take Bailey back to them to save them driving down here when they're jet-lagged. I hope he isn't sick, like he was on the way down, especially as we'll have Eva in the car as well.

Nanto we have heavy rain and it's cold enough for snow and we did see the gritter lorry go down the road at the back of our house 😲
I'm sitting with a blanket over my legs I don't want to put the heating on in the middle of the night but might have too .

It's a cold morning.Winter is upon us.

Oma and Nana, i was still awake at ½ past 2 this morning.
About 10 years ago i mentioned it to the doctor.He wanted to send me for counselling, but i refused.
He did give me some sleeping tablets for about 2 weeks.

Daisy,hope Bailey isn't car sick again. Poor thing.
Gem,hope the children slept well.

2 little people are in our bed for a drink and biscuit and Topsy Tim, treat when staying at Grandma's!
We were planning to hide rocks this morning, but we won't unless this stops

I hope all you sleepless people dropped off in the end. It must be so frustrating.

We've had a slight frost overnight but the sun is struggling through and it's dry. For now!

It looks like a day in the kitchen for me. I've got to make a birthday cake for tonight, and portion up dog food for the next couple of weeks.

Gem - I bet the GCs love their sleepovers with you.


Bailey isn't a good traveller, but isn't sick every time now - he was when they first got him. But he was sick first thing this morning!

Good morning all from deepest Hertfordshire.

We are dog sitting for DD while family has a long weekend in Amsterdam.They should be on Eurostar now.Dog is keeping close.I think she wonders where everyone has gone.

Sorry I’ve been out of touch for a few days but I hope everyone is as well as they can be.

Gem I could hardly believe it when you mentioned snow.

Off for walk soon with hound,not looking forward to poo picking up

We have Sleet and its very cold ,

Clover that's the joys of having a dog to walk ,having said that Storm never does one on his walks no matter how long you have him out but as soon as your back he rushes into the garden to do one

Gem I can just imagine them tucked in between you both having their drink and biscuit chatting away , they will remember these times when they grow up , they will remind each other of these times ,so sweet

Nana I did go to bed just before 4 but I didn't put heating on B told me off when I got into bed when he cuddled me in I was freezing ive had to promise to put heating on in future

Had BIL &SIL till late last night they had gone to MIL's to do a few jobs for her after work then popped to see us nice visit and laughed a lot , I like these unexpected visits always lovely to see them

Have fun dog sitting Clover

It has certainly turned very cold here but no snow or frost, sun is shining. I am off to the local theatre with my Guiding friends to see Evita later, having lunch there.DD is going to take myself and a friend who has to use a walker so if we get there early she will be able to drop us off and having lunch there avoids the crush. Looking forward to it.

Good morning all , its a tad cold out isn't it.W e haven't had any of that nasty stuff known as snow so Gem there is no need to share it , you can have it all with my blessings .

Middle DS called by this morning and we told him of our plans to change the sitting room considerably . At the moment we have a brick surround fire place with brick corner unit and a horrible low brick wall with a shelf . It all joins on to the fireplace and we want to do something with the horrible wall . He has suggested that he takes part of the low wall away , leaving a small part that is joined to the fire place , that way we get away with out having to plaster the wall . He is a brickie by trade and all round handy man. If he can't do it, it can't be done. All this isn't going to happen till well into the new year. We want to take the carpet up and put floorboards down but its all subject to cost and how much we want to put up with the kerfuckle of it all !
Eldest DS will be here soon , looking forward to seeing him, we hardly see at the moment as he is so busy at work


Daisy have fun at the party , how is the birthday cake coming along .

Afternoon all, cold here but no snow thank goodness, OH putting 3 wall lights up remember the last time he put the mirror up and these wall lights are very much in the same vicinity, I’ve gone in another room.
Hope the dog sitters on here manage to keep the dogs from stuff coming out of both ends lol
Quiet here DS and family are at dil family, and today I’m not my usual chirpy self can’t put my finger on it maybe it’s the change of weather will have to book my ideas up before the clocks change now that is depressing

Gem it’s lovely having the kids overnight isn’t it but I wouldn’t trust my youngest two with tea and biscuits in bed !!!

I booked for Sunday lunch at our local steakhouse for our anniversary normally take the family and pay 🤦♀️ There is 10 of us and I’ve had to pay a £50 deposit cheek of it
