Qwerty, enjoy your visit to DS's for lunch bet the children will be all over you. Your DD is having one disaster after another, I am sure they will enjoy their good soak.

Clover, hope your gardening injuries are feeling less painful.

Oma, enjoy your coffee and chat with friends, hope you don't fall asleep

Family due back about 6pm, I will be pleased to hand over the responsibility of the kitten. GS1, wife and GGS are popping in about 5pm, I have a banana cake for them and an apple crumble. Looking forward to seeing them.

Clover - sorry, I meant to ask how you are today. My fingers ran away with me. I do hope you're ok and your Harry Potter injury is healing up.

Oma - I know you always enjoy your Sunday meet up. I hope you got your painting done before gallivanting off out.

Gem - we have one or two friends with 'perfect' houses. But it's quite unusual not to use the bin! But you're right, it's hard to relax and it doesn't feel homely, but if it\s what makes them happy ...

Qwerty - Your poor DD. It's one thing after another. I hope they can get the flood damage repaired quickly. Enjoy your lunch at DS's.

Plant - not long till you can hand over kitten-caring.

I've just noticed our landline isn't working. You can ring in, but it doesn't ring in the house and when you pick the phone up the line is dead. I just came on here to check the internet was working, and it seems to be ok. Much more important than the landline!

        Back to the chores.

          Good afternoon

Plant, I'm sure it will be good to hand over responsibility of the kitten.
Qwerty, I think we ordered our sofa about 3 weeks ago. If we had wanted manual recline we could have had it much sooner but we want the electric kind.
Good to know you still have the internet Daisy

I got my hair colour from Holland and Barratt, I always get it from the designer outlet branch as everything is buy one get one half price permanently there. OH bought a golf top, and we bought cake slice. A simple item which we have searched for with no success for a long time!
I was not successful in finding slippers, but never mind! We had a sandwich in the food court there.

You're right Daisy. After yesterday I slept until nearly 1:30pm. It wasn't just yesterday that tired me out as compared to my normal week it's felt non stop.

(Don't know if new school starters goes somewhere else?)
I didn't drop him off Qwerty, I collected him. One of the 'rougher' boys said he was 'naughty' & he's such a sensitive soul he cried buckets. Seems one Mum was angry as the class teacher is deputy head & she's been out of class a lot therefore different teachers. He goes full time this week & then onto Nursery til mummy collects him from work. Hope it's not too much for him. Cluck cluck๐Ÿ”

Nana - poor little lad. It's worth his teacher knowing that the other boy has upset him. I hope he soon realises that he's only naughty when the teacher tells him!

We can't help worrying about them and wanting to protect them from the tougher aspects of life, but all we can do is make them feel safe, loved and happy when they're with us.

He told his teacher then cried. Awww๐Ÿ˜ข. You're right in everything you say tho Daisy. The school is in a bit of a rough area tho. He just has to find his own strategies to deal with different natured children. He didn't go to the school Nursery so he's at a bit of a disadvantage in knowing other children. It'll work out...It has to.

Nana, I sympathise! Most of the families at my grandsons school are quite different to his, and the boys in particular are quite rough. His little friend, isn't, he is lovely, but GS seems drawn to those naughty ones!
You just hope they find their own level in the end, Grandmas can't help worrying though!

Thanks Gem. The naughty ones rule I'm afraid as no children has courage at that age to stand up to them. So they're popular & gain more clout. You can only hope that the teacher's on top of it. I've got two younger GC & so will have to go through this again twice over.๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Gem - it's good that GS1 has a good friend at school, and he will learn coping strategies to deal with the ruffians.

Nana - I'm sure the school know which children are a little bit more vulnerable and keep an eye on them. Schools have robust anti-bullying policies these days too.

Good morning Nanto and everyone. Dull and overcast here, too.

I'm just off to collect Cooper and bring him here for a play date with Eva. Then later back to pick up the girls from school.

Have a good Monday, everyone - see you later.
