Hi everyone, sunny here atm but it is supposed to cloud over and possibility of rain later. I have some cooking to do for the barbecue tomorrow, GD1's boyfriend's birthday, not sure why the party is going to be held here, haven't seen them since they got back from Cornwall, they were having such a lovely time perhaps they are staying there. My eye is almost better, still feels like a crumb in there but not a brick. enormous plaster on right temple but it is almost flesh coloured. I can wash my hair tomorrow and soak it off and replace it with another not so invisible plaster. Stitches out next Friday before I go to Yorkshire on the Monday.

Clover I do feel sorry for special children who are different, very sad when they are yours. I have a niece who is blessed with a Downs daughter who is now in Secondary School and her heart breaks for her many times, although her friends are very kind to her but there are many times when she is excluded.

Lovely experience for your GS2 Gemini, special time with GM. You will be very tired when you finish at the Village Fete, enjoy your Pimms.

I wish we could persuade Qwerty to join us all in Birmingham, I for one will miss her very much. Looking forward to meeting our new girl.

I'm glad your neck is easier Oma.
I agree Plant. Qwerty will be much missed (and it's never too late for her to change her mind. It's a pity not to get together with good friends, none of us ever know for sure that there will be another year!) I too am looking forward to Sunshine joining us.

It stayed fine for our carnival, but thankfully was less hot than the previous 2 years, which were very hot. A mixture of bright sunshine and cloudy spells.
We did quite well with our plants, books, raffle and my treasure map. Not many takers for Guess The Number of Sweet this year. They had a much smaller jar then I do when I did it last year. Too small to tempt I fear!
We had less helpers than in previous years, and our only youngish strong man is no longer with us. We managed though ,with OH's help beginning and end. She also brought a sandwich over for me at lunchtime
OH won the raffle! It was a beautiful big arrangement of flowering plants for the garden in a large pot, donated by a local garden centre. I didn't know she was the winner as it was just her number and the person running the raffle had phoned her

Plant - as always, you're a busy lady. I hope the weather's good for the barbecue tomorrow. You'll feel better when you can wash your hair.

Gem - well done on your carnival. Good weather is great to have, but if it's too hot it puts a lot of people off. What a pity you didn't get more helpers. I suppose a lot of people would say they're too busy.

I really do wish Qwerty changes her mind and joins us in Birmingham - we'll all miss her. I had a chat with Sunshine on Thursday evening and she's really looking forward to meeting everyone - I've told her all sorts of things!!!! (Only nice things, I promise!!!)

My lazy day has been lazier than even I had planned, but I am going to mow the lawn now, as I won't have time tomorrow. OH has said he'll borrow DS2's high pressure washer thingy to do the patio and paths, so that let me off that chore.

A very hot day again today. I tried some gardening this morning but I was baking hot, so I came indoors. I’ve had a lazy day just reading my book.
I had a lovely day yesterday at the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. My son treated myself and my sister to high tea as part of my birthday present. We had a lovely time. We had a window seat looking over Portsmouth while we fed our faces with dinky sandwiches, cakes and scones. We couldn’t eat everything, but they gave us a box to put the left overs in rhythm we brought back for my brother in law. He was very happy.
My next treat planned is meeting up with you lovely ladies in Birmingham. I too, hope Qwerty will change her mind and come to join us. I am so looking forward to putting faces to the names.

This mornings rain cleared about 8ish,and it came very warm again.

Oma,hope your neck is feeling better.

            Daisy,you deserve a lazy day.

            Sunshine,your tea yesterday sounded lovely.

My order from Bon Marche came today, but they are all going back.
Glad the price was reduced because i wouldn't have paid the full price for them.
Ordered my usual size, but they are all too big.
The fabric is cheap and nasty in my opinion.
I was surprised about the fabric.I'll just stick to my shorter length trousers in future.

Evening grandmamas a hot day here g/d stripped off lots of cream as she is a ginger 👩🏻‍🦰 makes me get out in the garden though instead of cleaning.
Thank you for saying you will miss me at the meet up , but I won’t be in the country anyway we go back the middle of August and want to stay there for as long as we want I do apologise 💁🏼‍♀️
Nanto my stuff came this morning too , I bought a lightweight jacket which is a little tight but I want to lose some weight and I never fasten jackets half the time, this is the trouble with buying online .
Sunshine I could live on afternoon teas that’s all I seem to want these days sandwiches and cake lol
Gem I thought about you in this heat , I only walked down to the library and was jiggered when I got back. Stroke of luck OH winning the raffle especially with something so practical .
Ouch Oma neck pain is a real bind one little move and the pain goes through you , hope your taking it easy perhaps you have no choice .
Clover it must really get to you about your grandson it does me and I’m not related , let’s hope people rally round and give the lad a chance, I sometimes think children need lessons on how children with these problems feel

Qwerty im being careful it is painful at the minute im waking with terrible headaches with it , its worse lying down , im thinking of buying one of those soft foam neck braces for when I have a flare up , thank goodness its not very often .

Im not a fan of ordering clothes on line , I do but you can almost put a bet on that they will go back

Sizing isn't standard either is it , I have several different sizes depending where I buy from , its so annoying .
We will be thinking about you lazing in the sun Qwerty especially if its a bit wet and chilly that weekend
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Sunshine - looking at your photos on FB there were enough sandwiches and cakes to feed a small army - I'm glad they gave you a doggy bag. Did you do the glass walk before or after? (For those who don't know the Spinnaker Tower - right at the top there's a glass floor where you can see down 344 feet.

It's disappointing when you buy clothes online and the sizes are wrong. I wish they were standardised.

Oma - I do hope your neck gets better soon - it must be very draining. Do you use one of those herb-stuffed collars you heat up in the microwave?

I did have a lazy day until tea time. I cut the lawn and trimmed the edges, did a bit of weeding, staked half the tomatoes and tied them in. The sideshoots seem to pop up even as I look at them, so I nipped those out as well. We sat in the garden for a while with a glass of wine, then I did the watering and finally got dinner. Definitely time for bed now after all that!

Sun is shining. Hubby gone to a car boot with his brother. In fact i think they are going to 2 this morning.

Not too disappointed about the items going back.
I would have reordered in a smaller size, but i don't like the fabric.
They certainly wouldn't have been worth the full price, not to me anyway.

                    Enjoy your day ladies.

Good Sunday morning Nanto and all who call in later. Another pretty graphic, Nanto - I wonder what's behind that magic door?

It's really hard to tell what fabric is like when you're buying online. I wish they would describe the weight/thickness of the fabric - I've sometimes ordered t-shirts and found they were either too flimsy or too heavy for what I wanted.

It's a busy day for us - I've portioned up a load of dog food already, then we're popping round to a friend's for coffee first then going up to DS1's for a quick lunch, dropping Eva off there, DS1 is coming with us back to Basingstoke to see a car, then back to DS1's to collect Eva. So I may have a new car by the end of the day - or I may not!

Have a happy and peaceful Sunday everyone. xx

Good morning Nan2, Daisy and everyone else.

Let us know if you buy the car Daisy!

Free day here today. Nice to lie in a bit after having to be up for something every morning since leaving Majorca!
I want to go to the station, as cheap train tickets are now in for both the Friday and Sunday of our Birmingham trip.
OH wants to hit a few balls in practice for playing tomorrow and I will go to see my mum. So, maybe not as free as I thought

                        Have a good one everyone!

Sun is appearing after a dull day yesterday.

I need to shorten some curtains .I hope I have the nerve to cut them off at the right place.

Daisy your feet won’t touch the ground today. I hope you get the car if it’s the one you want.

                          Have a lovely day.

Morning ladies. Happy Sunday to you all.

It was very hot yesterday and the garden looked very thirsty. Last evening (once it had cooled down a bit) I went out and gave the garden a thorough drenching. This morning I woke up to find it had been raining heavily overnight. The grass is looking much greener now and none of the plants have drowned.

I am off to a family BBQ at lunch time. Hopefully the rain will have stopped by then. It is just drizzly now.

Daisy, I hope you get your new car today. Exciting. You'll need a rest after your hectic day today. You could try out your new car on a trip to Emsworth. That would be fun.

Oma, I hope your neck settles down soon. Ibuprofen is my preferred pain relief for something like that, but I know not everyone can take them.

Nanto, sorry to hear your Bon marche bargains weren’t really bargains at all. That’s one of the problems buying online. You just can’t tell the quality. It is a bit concerning with so many retail shops closing down. We might be having to buy nearly everything on line. It will be good business for the post office, with everything being posted out and then half of it being sent back. Ha ha.

Good luck with the car viewing Daisy, I hope it fits the bill or the dogs.

Hope your OH and his brother find a masterpiece today Nanto

Oma, how is the neck? It must be like a constant toothache, do you know what causes the pain?

Barbecue planned here today to celebrate GD1's boyfriend's birthday. We haven't met all his family, just his mother. It has been raining so hope it improves so we can be in the garden.

Good luck with the ticket buying Gemini. S will be pleased to get back into her golf competitions. I hope you find your mum in good spirits.

I am allowed to wash my hair today and remove the dressing on my face, I wonder what it will look like. I have to cover it again with another waterproof plaster, couldn't find one that was skin coloured like the present hospital dressing.
