Gem - he really is a little character, your GS1. I can see he's going to be a great organiser and planner in whatever field he works in. How on earth would you have managed without his help! Glad you enjoyed your trick and treating.
This is a sticky topic.

Adorable Gem.
My GS2 goes to Nursery & the nursery worker was trying to encourage the little ones to sit down for a story. Two girls were happier rolling around on the floor. My GS turned round (as he was sitting on his chair) & said to the girls " If you don't come & sit down you won't get a sticker & then you'll not be happy". πTo think he was born 7wks early & mummy & daddy were worried about his future."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Tonight I was in the kitchen with GS1. He had helped me feed the cats (which he loves to do) and was waiting most impatiently for his tea to be ready.
'are those matches Grandma?' he asked. 'yes I replied, and you shouldn't leave them where children can reach them. I know you are really sensible boy though. I wouldn't leave them where younger children could reach them'.
'Like T? (toddler cousin) 'yes' I replied.
GS then took the box of matches , walked to the far side of the kitchen and pushed them far back on the worktop.
'There Grandma, now you and I can reach them, but T and the cats can't'
Note to self, GS1 is tall, keep matches in a higher spot. I trust him, but you can't be too careful!!βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

He is such a good boy but as you say just in case as curiosity could kick in ,
We bought one of those gas matchstick things thinking it would be better but O was fascinated by it so we had to keep it up high
Then we found one with a locking switch but he figured that out too ,
We only use it to light Candles then most of them are battery ones
Better out of reach of temptationIm not fat just 6ft too small

Yesterday, when I arrived at DS2's GD2 was still asleep. She woke up just before the rest of the family left for work and school, but was still quite sleepy - unusual for her. Anyway, we were in no hurry, so we had a leisurely breakfast and I put some washing in the machine, made the beds etc. I got her clothes out and put them ready for her and suggested she went upstairs had a wash, cleaned her teeth and got dressed (she's very independent!). but five minutes later she was still in the living room, so I suggested again that she got ready.
"Grandma", she said, "it's not often I have a day off, so I'm taking it easy."
That was me told, then!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
