Well according to my friends on FB it is illegal not to buy something new to take on holiday so that means I definitely need to buy something new. I shall be popping off to Debenhams with my charge card PDQ .......

Well I didn't do Debenhams but I did do my on line retailer. Bought a really nice, slightly sparkly red light top for evenings, some blue and white patterned Palazzo trousers, also some blue crepe ones but they look hideous and are supposed to be for shorter people but would fit a six foot two woman!! Off they pop back to the company. I also bought two lovely cashmere v necks, jade and lemon, with elbow length sleeves (not for holiday) and a lovely swing type white top which will be perfect for holiday.

I did forget to mention previously that I bought two pairs of very plain bog standard flip flops, one gold pair and one black pair, in January plus a pair of pink leather flat mules BUT in my defence when we were in Tobago in November three pairs of various patterned flip flops broke one after the other - they were quite old.

So I did not do Debenhams however PLAY DANGEROUS MUSIC I have a meeting tomorrow in a library in a rather large shopping centre that has a .............. DEBENHAMS next door HA HA watch this space.

Nothing to confess I must confess. I didn't buy anything, it is sales time and there was nothing that really took my fancy, well there were some handbags but I felt that would be treading a very thin line with the husband so I resisted. BUT I got a Debenhams card holder 25% off voucher today and I have fifteen quid in reward vouchers so I may HAVE to do a little spend. Would be rude not to use the vouchers wouldn't it?

I am very busy with work at the moment trying to fit lots of things in before my holiday so may well be a bit sporadic on here. Looking forward to my holiday. Sum1 and I are having lunch next week which I am also looking forward to.

Zizi - your virtuous resistance yesterday means you can be extra naughty spending those vouchers. I'm sure new stock will be in very soon.

There always seems to be a lot of work to do before a holiday - don't overdo it and make yourself poorly.

I seem to have acquired a lot of extra jobs since my return from secondment and most of them involve either a lot of time on the computer or travelling into town. I am London Ambassador for Hospice UK which is the charity that has been adopted by my company for the next two years. So I have five hospices to visit. I can only fit one in between now and holiday and the others will have to be done when I get back. I am also interviewing for chair of trustees for my beloved Mulberry Centre (cancer care) on Tuesday. I am not sure how I will do but I think I have the background. This is hopefully going to replace my Time to Shine when I bow out.

Other than that I have been put in charge of sorting out construction apprenticeships and also the "Open Door" programme which is when construction sites give the general public tours of the sites (national not just local role). I am on the employee nomination committee (company donations to nominated charities) and co-ordinator for my homeless/vulnerable work experience programme and CRASH which is the construction industry homeless charity AND I have just been asked to liaise with Lambeth (SW London) college to get their students work experience (not just construction). I also seem to be the "go to" recently for colleagues who don't know how to use their six days paid volunteering..........

At least I can pace myself, I don't have anyone looking over my shoulder. I really am looking forward to the holiday. Husband is going to get the summer clothes out of the loft. It seems only weeks ago I packed them up, well it wasn't long, end November. They are all clean, I just need to put whichever ones I am taking into the basket for the ironing fairy.........
