Oh Elisi I do hope I haven't caused offence. I think after all the effort of walking (or being dragged is a more truthful expression) up the hill, I expected something like Windsor Castle........

No NO not at all not in the slightest I just mentioned it as it is a place close to my own heart, but it is a blooming trek up there! Val used to love it and Lisbon in general and went there often which is why her husband took her ashes there.
I personally would not go back to Lisbon now as I have been about 4 or 5 times and 'done' the city, but for someone who hasn't it is an enjoyable trip, as like all major European cities they are infused with history. XXX

As I mentioned on another thread, I've almost gone off holidays, I like being home, and I used to adore travelling, now I get anxious, but I guess this has to do with my depression. We did manage to do long weekends in Sardinia and Copenhagen in early summer, luckily as things then precipitated at home, work, health etc. When MIL is settled somewhere, I might consider a short trip mainly to please my caring and very patient OH...A day without wine is like a day without sunshine....

Skye, do you think if you had a holiday it would improve your depression and anxiety (I feel worse when I haven't had a holiday for ages and nothing planned) or does the planning etc just make everything worse?“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem weirdly enough when I arrive at a resort/city, even a place I've always wanted to see, I feel uncomfortable, no particular reason, cannot stay longer than about 3 days, otherwise I pass the time wishing my life away. I want to be back home, so strange , I remember years ago when friends were telling me that their partners no longer wanted to go away, could not understand how you could possibly not want to go on holiday, and now it's happening to me!

Well our holiday plans have changed yet again. Husband looked and we cannot get on the direct flight (I think I told you that) and the way he has got us going to Tobago is:
London Heathrow to Miami 09.30 am, four hour wait until 9pm for internal transfer on American Airlines to Trinidad arriving 11pm, leaving Trinidad at 6am for 20 minute flight to Tobago. I predict the first day of the holiday is going to see a tired and grumpy Zizi. We will be flying back into Gatwick so will have to get the National Express back to Heathrow. I am not happy with the outward journey but keeping it zipped. I am hoping the wonderfullness of the holiday will drive away the horribleness of the journey....................If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
