DS just phoned to say he will be popping in, shame really as I am going to a tea party at our village hall so he will not be able to stay long. Gardener just left he planted some hardy geraniums for me, not good in this heat, I shall have to keep an eye on them, I am sure H will be pleased to water them for me.

Oma, your GS loves you both and likes to keep an eye on you.

Good afternoon ladies. Late check in for me today as not long after little E was collected I went to my 11 am aqua class. Then something to pick up from M&S, home for lunch, shower etc, but here I am now

I hope it's not too hot when you are grass cutting Nan2. It's so much warmer than yesterday!

      Enjoy the tea party Plant.

Oma, I agree with Plant, your GS loves you both and likes spending time with you!

Daisy, I hope all went smoothly with the appointment, and travelling to and from.

OH is playing golf. This evening we are eating out. It is DD2's FIL's 80th birthday this weekend and some of us are going to an Indian restaurant with him tonight.
GS1 was to spend the day here today, but last night DD said she wouldn't bring him as he has had a really bad cold or virus all week. She was worried about passing it to either OH or DD3, which we all appreciate. A shame not to see him but we will catch up again soon I'm sure.

Hallo everyone, it has been far too hot for me. Even warmer next week whilst I am away!

I still have the blocked sinus, if that is what it is, I have a few more days medicine then see what the specialist says.

I hope that you all enjoy the Indian meal this evening Gem, one of my DS1 and DIL favourites when they are in the UK, and you the pub meal Nanto, also a very keen favourite of theirs!

My neighbour put my cycle carrier on my car this morning, everything works!

GD1 will be home tomorrow from Malta, she has loved it all!

Daisy, I hope that all went well at the hospital!

Oma, I saw that you had got the medicine, when do you get the results of your heart scan?

I will be pleased when this Lidl is open, I can't get used to the other one at all, I am not the only one! It will be open whist I am away, I think on Thursday.

A shame DS decided to visit today , but even seeing him for a short while will be lovely ,
Hope you enjoyed the tea party.

              Gem
We like a good Indians, enjoy and I hope the birthday boy has a lovely night ,
Sensible of your DD to keep GS away when he has a cold , no point in taking chances is it.

              Nanto
Did you have a nice meal.
Always nicer when someone else has cooked it and you don't have to do the dishes after😁

              Lizzie
I hope your sinuses don't spoil your trip away ,
The time in Malta for your GD has passed quickly hasn't it,
It will be good to see her though.

You will certainly be pleased to have the Lidl opened ,
I'm not sure how long the results will take, they don't hurry themselves even though it's all through computers now,

Hasn't it been lovely to have doors and windows open today,
We haven't really done much this afternoon just rested really,

We have booked to go to Hamburg in Germany for 5 days late November,
It will be strange going and not seeing Aunty Ingrid ,
We might meet up with the cousins while we are there .
Booked into a hotel right in the centre.

                Hello everybody.

They were very short staffed at the hospital and most of the nurses were borrowed from other wards. They know what they're doing, but aren't so familiar with the record keeping on the laptops, don't know where things are or quite how the system runs. My injection and another patient's hadn't arrived so we had to wait for that. The meds to take home took ages to check, and I asked where one of them was. I said it was probably in the fridge, and it was.

I haven't counted how many traffic lights there are between us and the hospital but every single one (apart from a pedestrian crossing one) was on red all the way there, and all the way back. We were beginning to feel we were in a parallel universe. We didn't get home until 12 o'clock, after going out at 7.30.

I felt totally exhausted after everything, and slept on and off all afternoon.

It's been an exhausting day, and I'm off for an early night, hopefully to sleep and get ready for doing it all again tomorrow for OH's eye injection - another 7.30 start.

I hope to catch up with everyone tomorrow.

Going to be another warm day. Take care in the heat ladies.

Daisy, hope your day is less exhausting. Another early start for you.

Lizzie, where are you going for your holiday.

                  Oma, how is MIL.
We did have a nice meal yesterday. When we go to that particular pub, I always have gammon and pineapple, hubby always has scampi.

Gem, hope you enjoyed your meal last night.

We are going to Wakefield today, so eating out again.

                    Good morning everyone.

More eating out Nan2, and why not!

Daisy I hope you got a good night's sleep. What bad timing with 2 consecutive days of early appointments to get to.

Oma you will enjoy Hamburg, but I'm sure you will also miss seeing Ingrid.

I hope they can sort out the sinus problem for you Lizzie. You don't need that alongside the heat.

We had a lovely evening. I would go there again as they achieved the almost impossible for me, a delicious Indian meal with no chili. My school friend that I meet up with regularly with C ( we all went to grammar school together) was there. She is a mutual friend of SIL's dad. I knew that of course, but we didn't know who was going last night, so a nice surprise.

No plans today, but I would like to go to a garden centre to buy summer bedding plants for the tubs and hanging basket.
I would normally avoid a weekend, but we didn't have time in the week ( or when we did, didn't get our act together ) Next week is looking busy too, plus it's half term.
The sun is out already, another lovely day I think.

                      Morning ladies

                      Nanto
It's good when you enjoy the food isn't it ,
Enjoy your trip to Wakefield, your cooker will think you have gone on strike 😁

                      Gem
Lovely you had a good Indians without chilli,
Not easy as they do use a lot in some dishes .
Time seems to dash by doesn't it ,
I'm off to get a couple of plants this morning as well,
We will then pop. In and get MIL a cream cake to take in .

All the main roads are blocked off as there is a huge BBC festival going on on our country park they are expecting 100,000 people over 3 days ,
Every side street is blocked to prevent parking ,
My sisters road is blocked and there are wardens on to ensure only locals can park.

Then yesterday all day we were hearing gun shots as there was a clay pigeon shooting event going on at Lord Lambton's estate.
It's about a mile away but sound travels doesn't it.

Good morning, I have been and done my shopping, early!

I saw GD1 was at the airport, early!

Nanto, I am going to a place called Maasbommel, it is between 2 rivers and on the waterside, good for lots of cycling, I hope, if it isn't too warm.

You would enjoy the meal Gem, was it local?

I met. a friend at the shops, she was one of 9 children, just 2 of them now, she was the youngest, is now 86, the eldest is in Australia, she is 100!!! Still cycles to do all her shopping etc.

Daisy, I hope that you can both relax when you get back home from the hospital. It was a long morning for you both yesterday.

I want to get a bike ride in before it gets too warm, just deciding which direction to take.

I forgot to post this earlier! Just got home, cycled to the goat farm, was getting very busy when I left, very popular!

Been to see MIL she is doing well , they are taking her out of isolation tomorrow,
It was so hot in that side ward ,
We took ice cubes in , put them in a little food flask , filled her jug up and they were melting fast.

Went to B&Q this morning for a couple of plants , got a kiss and a hug from GS2 , he is a fine lad,
First weekend shift back after knee surgery in April ,
He is the double of his dad my DS .

Oma, glad MIL is doing well.

Gem, that was good to provide a meal minus the chilli.

We enjoyed our day i Wakefield. Sadly it is looking very run down now.
They are supposed to be refurbishing it. Don't know what or when.
                            It made a change though.

                              Good afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, how lovely, eating out. What a pity about Wakefield though. Sadly it's happening in so many towns and cities. I hope Wakefield improves.

Gem, what a treat to be able to enjoy your meal without worrying about the chilli. It makes you want to go back when they go to that much trouble. Did you go and get your bedding plants? I expect the garden centres are very busy this week-end, especially with the fine weather.

Lizzie, Maasbommel sounds very interesting, and I hope it's not too hot for cycling. What a big family your friend had. I was wondering about how your sinuses are, as well. GD1 and family are certainly well-travelled. Is goat meat popular in The Netherlands? I'm told it's very tasty, but I've never tried it, although I buy it for Eva!

Oma, MIL must be making good progress if they're moving her out of isolation tomorrow. Was she pleased with the ice cubes to chill her water? It was a very thoughtful thing to take. GS2 must be so pleased to be back to normal after his knee surgery. It seems a long time ago, but I hope it's healed well.

The trip to the hospital was much less fraught this morning (although I don't know if OH would agree with that- he's a nervous patient at the best of times). Typically I didn't sleep well last night. Although I'd had a rest in the day I was still-overtired, too hot, and couldn't get comfortable. I got up and made a milk drink and read for an hour about 2 am. Today is another day, though, and I've got plenty of energy probably because of steroids, but I'm glad to be able to get things done for once.

We were back from the hospital about 10.30, but OH's eye was throbbing quite badly. Drops, paracetamol and a sleep helped. I went to DS2's to fetch Eva back. For a sunny Bank Holiday the Forest roads were quiet, and I'm sure the newly introduced parking charges are deterring visitors. Both Eva and Cooper have slept all afternoon. They tire each other out.

I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather. It's 25C here, quite hot for May.

Daisy I'm glad the hospital trip was less awful and hope your OH feels more comfortable soon

Nice to see GS2 I bet Oma.

Lizzie, the restaurant was only a short drive into town, close to where I used to live.

We didn't get any plants, we will tomorrow. We started doing some gardening, then had a cool drink in the garden.
Then we remembered a friend's birthday tomorrow so went over to pop a card in. However her dog came running and jumping and barking with excitement, which alerted our friend, so we ended up going in for a cuppa
