Oma, it's a pity your GS worries about his exams, when he is such a hard worker. The break with his Dad playing golf will do him good. Yes, I hope my GD1 will stick to her plan. It's been sunny here but chilly as well, until tea time when the wind dropped.

We didn't do any gardening today. I swept the front doorstep and started to sweep round the edge of the border in the front garden, but realised there was an ants' nest, so left it alone. I don't mind them in the garden, as long as they don't try and move in with us!

My GD2 is off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow on a school trip. It's just for the week-end, but she's very excited.

Nanto, our posts crossed. It must have felt like Piccadilly Circus at your house today with so many comings and goings. At least hubby was there to put the shopping away. I bet you were glad you didn't have to cook as well.

Good morning, catching up on the chats! I managed a bike ride yesterday, not too far, strawberries for the GD's. I took them to their house and DIL was very busy, she has fully arranged a congress in Amsterdam for next week,, she has been months organising it all, the people come from all over the world so she was busy sorting the last minute things out yesterday, I think she said that there will be 100 people there.

Then GD1 came here yesterday afternoon, she had those awful nails fitted a few weeks ago and they needed removing, I got to the internet and saw that the chemist in village had special acetone for "biab" nails, it actually worked, she was so pleased, I was as well, she said "never again" so I hope she sticks to that!!! She goes to Malta on Sunday for 10 days, work experience.

GD2 is busy getting ready for her exams, I think she starts next week.

Nanto, you would have a busy day.

I mentioned there were celebrations in the village on Tuesday, well, they were cancelled, the Shanty choir were doing a concert to start the celebrations, they were ready for the photographer to take a photo when the conductor had a heart attack! Everyone thought he had just lost his balance, poor man, he was rushed to the hospital etc but didn't survive.

        I am cheerful this morning.

Daisy, the treatment must be helping Eva.

          Good morning ladies.

Lizzie, that was sad about the conductor.
Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday.
We bought some strawberries yesterday , also got some for hubby's pal they will be meeting up later.

Looks nice and bright so I'm off to get some washing in.

                Good Friday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, it's such good news to hear you're feeling better. Your DIL has a lot of responsibility organising an event like that. I hope it goes smoothly after all her hard work. Good luck to GD2 with her exams. I bet we've all experimented with make-up etc in our youth and said "never again", so GD1 has probably learned that those nails are not for her. I must admit, I think they must be damaging to your natural nails. What an awful shock for the choir's conductor to have a fatal heart attack, especially just at that moment. Does he have a family? They must be devastated.

Nanto, let's hope the day stays bright to get that washing dried. How kind to get strawberries for OH's pal, too.

Oma, fingers crossed for a good day with MIL. I spoke to GD2 last night. She was beyond excited. We had a giggle about her packing 6 pairs of undies, and 6 pairs of socks, plus a pair of warm fluffy socks for evening for 3 days. They will be kayaking and other water sports. The first time we took them in the caravan she ran out of clean dry socks on day 2, so it's become a joke between us that she takes plenty. She was proud she'd thought about the fluffy socks.

I'm hoping the ants will find the aphids on the roses. They usually do a good job of keeping the plants clean.

We had a nice surprise this morning. Eva's a dog of routine and habit, but for ages she's stopped jumping on the bed for a ritual morning fuss from OH. OH was drawing the curtains and turned round and there she was, in her usual place wanting her tummy tickled. Her leg must be getting stronger.

We want to get the new plants in the garden today, and I'd like to cut the lawn. The edges badly need trimming too.

Daisy, the man was 76 years old, I don't know about the rest of the family but a lady I know works with the mentally disabled and he has a son in the home there. Sad!!

                    Well done to Eva!

Lizzie, what a sad situation. The choir will miss him, too.
