Good morning, I arrived safely, the farm house is a dream, the gardens and orchard, fantastic, the couple moved here from Amsterdam 18 years ago, designed this apartment for the ladies mother, well, the mother designed it actually. She lived here for 8 years before passing away, now it is the Airbnb.

I had a bike ride yesterday afternoon in the area, too hot really, 32+🥵

I have a route planned for today, at least it is cooler. Along the river to Tiel using cycleferries to cross the river.

        Good morning.

Lizzie, glad you arrived safely. Enjoy.
I think it's going to be cooler today, then temperatures up again tomorrow.

I think hubby is hoping to get the parcel box done today.

          Morning Nanto, Ladies,

          Lizzie
Don't you worry about us just enjoy your holiday, it sounds idyllic,

          Nanto
Today might be the day for hubby to do his jobs as it is a tad cooler this morning.

It's our turn to visit MIL today,
Martin was in yesterday and he said she was more lucid than she has been.

It was stuffy during the night , at one point. I did think about getting up and having a cool shower , but then I must have dropped off to sleep 😁

It's a bit overcast but warm and it supposed to be sunny after lunch.

I've had a good clean through only the bedrooms and landing to hoover now
But B will do them later.

            Good morning everyone.

A much more comfortable night temperature wise and we both got a decent night's sleep.

Pretty window box Nan2. It reminds me I haven't bought my bedding plants yet !

The farmhouse sounds lovely Lizzie. Have a lovely holiday, we will look forward to hearing about it when you get back

I hope MIL is ok when you visit Oma.

Aqua this morning. Then hopefully coffee with my friends as this is my only aqua day this week.
Hospital with OH this afternoon, it's the day with two appointments, one with consultant then treatment .

We may go for plants afterwards, otherwise it will be Saturday.

              Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, your holiday area sounds idyllic. Enjoy. I hope it isn't too hot for you to do the activities you've planned. I agree, one finger typing is so slow! Enjoy your holiday and catch up with us when you get home. xx

Nanto, it must be feeling cooler for you if your hubby is going to make the parcel box. It will be very useful.

Oma, I hope MIL is lucid when you go to visit. It will be less stressful, I'm sure.

Gem, A good night's sleep makes a difference. Enjoy your aqua and coffee. I hope all goes well for S at the hospital. Bedding plants make such a great splash of colour. What will you choose?

It's still super-hot down here on the south coast, currently 27C and rising. Although it was hot in the night I slept really well, thank goodness.

Just had hairdresser, curly again. Board games at the village hall this afternoon.Feels cooler today, I found yesterday far too hot for me. Living in a bungalow and I am on the North side, the nights are not as hot for sleeping.

Oma, I hope you find Mil less confused when you visit. Is there going to be a discussion what are the plans for her? They can’t keep sending her home.

Gemini, It is still a bit too hot to do any planting, I am having to keep mine well watered.

                Have a lovely holiday Lizzie.

Did you enjoy Aqua , lovely I imagine to get in the water on a warm day

                  Daisy
Pleased to hear you slept well.
It's overcast but very stuffy here.

You will feel like a new women having your hair done ,
                  Enjoy your board games,
I'm with you the heat is not my friend .

MIL was much less confused today
She was asleep when we went. In ,
I had to go get the nurse when she woke her legs were bouncing off the bed and she couldn't stop them.
                  It's happened before.
They took her vitals all was ok so they got a junior Dr that was on the ward to have a look at her,
She said are you doing this yourself Ursula😮
I looked at her and said of course she isn't , she has just woken up and she isn't strong enough to do this herself 🙄.

She said well I will have to speak to a senior Dr , went away and never came back, we were there two hours.

She didn't want anything they were serving for dinner , so I said can she have rice crispies we know she will eat them,
The young nurse said of course anything that will help , so she went off and brought her a big bowl with lovely cold milk,
She never came up for air , wolfed the lot down.

They came with a cup of tea and we had taken a bacon sandwich in so she ate that as well.

The leg shaking seems to be connected to her hip that she broke in our opinion as when this happens her hip hurts ,
It's like a nerve thing we think .

Its a lot cooler today. I've had a cardigan on all day.

Hubby has got the parcel box fitted on the wall.

Oma, good to hear MIL is eating well.

Gem, hope the appointment go/went well.

                      Good afternoon .

I hope it was cool enough in the village hall today Plant.

Good day for fitting the parcel box Nan2 as it's not as hot.

Keep as cool as you can Daisy!

Oma, it does sound like a nerve thing with MIL. She sounds on quite good form otherwise.

Still no bedding plants!! We were ages at the hospital, when there are 2 appointments there are always delays.
After that we both felt we only wanted to choose plants if we could have a cuppa first. I checked the websites of the centres we would go to and both cafes shut at 4. We would be there just before that, so didn't go.
We bought scones on the way home and sat and ate them with a cuppa in the garden.
The new revised plan is maybe go tomorrow afternoon with GSs 2 and 3 with us!
All ok at OH's appointment, so that was good.

I forgot to mention that the King visited York hospital yesterday, in the department we use. I wondered why the entrance looked so very spruced up and tidy, until I remembered

Had rain during the night, good for the plants.

Gem, what a shame you didn't see the king.

My stress levels will be sky high today.
Hubby wants to replace some of the guttering on the back of the house.
He bought the part he needed when we were on our way home on Tuesday.
I hate him being up on the ladders.
When I suggested getting someone in to do it, he said no, not when I can do it myself.

Got the washing out for 6. Did a bit of a tidy up,then made a coffee.
Started getting dark the the rain started. Dashed out to get the washing.
The heavens opened and we had the mother of all thunderstorms.
Sunny again now,so hopefully will get the washing back out.

                              Morning Nanto,ladies.

Nanto same here but no thunder,
I know what you mean about husbands up ladders, I made B sell our big ladders that reached the roof ,
I didn't trust him, I know he would wait till I'm out to have a go .

So pleased the hospital appointment went well, did S tell them about her hip pain?
I'm sure the boys will enjoy helping you choose the plants you want , only trouble is I bet you spend more than you intended😄

We have to stay in for the boiler service this morning and I did intend having a tidy up in the garden ready to paint the fences before the new turf goes down ,
Those plans won't happen now the garden is too wet having no astro turf down it's just sand .

SIL rang MIL last night she didn't know who SIL was said she didn't know anyone of that name, , insisted we hadn't been in ,
Couldn't remember eating the bacon sandwich or having any meals at all.
Other SIL rang the ward , they said yes she had eaten all her breakfast and tea and the same nurse was on when we were in and noticed she had ate rice Krispies and the Sandwich we took in,

Oh the sun is peeping out fingers crossed it will dry up .

                                Good morning ladies.

Oh Nan2, I can imagine how you feel! Some OH's forget how old they are - mine included!

No garden tidy up in this rain Oma! My friend who was a nurse said that older patients often become a lot more confused in hospital. It seems to come and go for your MIL doesn't it?
Yes the consultant thinks OH's hip pain isprobably the hip arthritis and so something for GP. She's going back to GP for different or increased meds.

What a dark and gloomy morning! We have the lamp on in the living room.

There was rain, thunder and lightening overnight, and rain this morning with thunder rumbling. It is due to brighten up I think.
                                OH is at the chiropractor.
GS2 all day and we will collect little E after lunch. We are going to the library, as the manager who had to move branches (not her choice) will be providing staff cover back at our branch today. We have kept in touch and she became a grandma for the first time a couple of weeks ago
Little E will be with us until Saturday as his mummy and daddy have a couple of nights away booked.
