A real mixture here Oma. Heavens opening then bright sunshine.
Little E and I called into the local shops on the way back from nursery but we're staying in now!

Well, i'm not in the best of moods.
Flooring company have let us down. Someone didn't update the system.
It will be monday now. We would have cancelled it if we could have found the same flooring elsewhere.
Hubby has given them a rare old b********g.

It never goes to plan ,
I'm still waiting for the plinths to be put on my kitchen , they came and the joiner was going on holiday the next morning so it will be the 26th when he comes back.
It's disappointing when your looking forward to it being finished isn't it.

Not a day to be going out , best you and little E stays in 😁

This is a very late quick "hello". After the relaxing day yesterday today made up for it.

I met up with my group of friends from College, picking one friend up on the way there, It was great to spend time with this lovely set of pals for the first time since before Christmas.

The weather was chaotic. I set off needing my sunglasses and even before I picked the friend up it had clouded over, threatening rain. By the time we got to the Golf club for lunch the rain had come and gone and it was sunny. It carried on like that all day until I took Eva out about 7.30 this evening. I could see a storm cloud but it wasn't moving very fast so I didn't worry. Silly me. It rained, it thundered very loudly, then lightning and hail! Eva was less than grateful for the walk. In fact she pulled all the way home, terrified.

We're out for the day tomorrow. We're meeting up in Wimborne with some friends for coffee and lunch. We'll take Eva to DS2's first so will have to leave fairly early (for us) so I'm getting everything ready tonight.

I hope to catch up with everyone tomorrow. xxx

Good morning. Nice and bright but cold.

No plans for me but hubby out for a couple of hours.

We'll see what today brings or doesn't bring.

                    Good morning everyone.

Aww, nice to get surprise birthday flowers Lizzie

Oma I hope MIL is improving, and in a good mood!

Nan2, you will find something to fill your day I'm sure.

Nice sunny morning here. Little E woke at 5.40 and our hairdresser was here before 9, so it feels like halfway through the day already!
No GS2 school pick up today so I will be free once little E goes home.
I am glad of a few hours rest. I haven't really felt 100% well since I had that cold. I think I am so in need of our holiday!
I cancelled this morning's aqua, I wasn't really up to it on Wednesday, so it was the right decision.

                    Have a good day everyone.

                      Afternoon ladies

                      Lizzie
what a lovely surprise and they are beautiful flowers,

                      Gem
You really need that holiday , I think your wise to cancel Aqua , you might feel more like going next week ,
Enjoy the rest once E goes home ,
                      Is S playing golf today?

MIL was so much better looks better too ,
She had a laugh and was very cheerful,
We spoke to the ward sister,
They are doing further tests to see how her oxygen is acting and the COPD nurses have been to see her.
If she gets discharged soon they have referred her to the social worker who deals with getting her moved and they will be in touch when she is home.

They brought lunch around while we were there,
                      It was disgusting
The tail end of a cheap slice of fish , the fish was grey and the batter was soggy , chips that had never seen a pan and rock hard cauliflower,
How poorly people are supposed to get better eating that muck.

She did have a lovely full English for breakfast and she said she ate it all.

                      This weather is bizarre,
Sunny and hot then the temperature is dropping and it's going dark,
We have heavy rain now ,
It's all seasons in one day.

Oma, most hospital food is appalling. Someone was telling me what the budget per head is, shockingly low, so I don't know how they feed patients at all really.
DD3 mostly got us to take food in, or had Deliveroo bring it to the front of the hospital. As you say, anyone in long term has no chance of good recovery on hospital fare only.

Little E went home mid morning, and I have rested since I do feel better than I did. I am having a relaxing bath now. No golf for OH today no.
OH did our shopping and picked us a ready meal for tonight.
DD and SIL3 are going to a wedding tomorrow and we will have little E all day and overnight. So recharging batteries this afternoon and evening seemed a good plan
E is adorable, and a really good boy and very independent for 3, but it's still hard work when you're not firing on all cylinders yourself!

Oma, pleased MIL was a bit better.

                          Lizzie,lovely to get surprise flowers.

DS1 was on his day off today. He joined us for dinner.
Then, we all went to shopping park about 20/25 minutes away.

Nanto, your chilly penguin made me laugh - so appropriate for this weather. Your "no plans today" days nearly always end up being busy, but I'm sure it was lovely to see DS1. Did you buy anything at the shopping park?

Lizzie, what thoughtful young men. The flowers are beautiful and I love the colours.

Gem, it's not surprising you haven't fully recovered from that cold. You are under so much pressure, and are always busy it doesn't give you much chance to rest and recover. I always think it's tiring looking after our grandchildren, no matter how delightful they are and how much we love them. We're that much older than when we had our own children, and things have changed in so many ways. I hope DD3 and SIL enjoy the wedding, and I'm sure Little E will be more than happy to have an extra sleep over at Grandma's.

Oma, I'm glad your MIL is looking and feeling better, but that hospital dinner sounds awful. I know the budget per patient/per meal is abysmally low, but good food, properly prepared is essential to patients' well-being. Some hospitals seem to make a speciality of spoiling even the simplest dish. At least the breakfast was good.

We have had a lovely day out. We picked up the friends who live nearby and took Eva over to Ian's. The sat nav sent us a really slow route to Wimborne where we were meeting our other friends. We all arrived at the pub at the same time. We haven't seen the friends from Somerset for ages and it was lovely to spend time with them. I had lasagne and salad for lunch, followed by treacle sponge pudding and custard. It's a long time since I went out for lunch two days together - I could get used to it. We got back home about 5 o'clock after picking up Eva and dropping off our local friends.

It's a good job we've got nothing planned for tomorrow - I think I'll need a day at home.

That sounds a lovely day Daisy. Treacle sponge and custard is one of my favourites!
