Gem, you posted while I was typing, so I've only just seen your post. What good news that DD3 can drive again. Apart from the practical advantages, it will help her to feel better in herself. Well done to GD for staying calm for her first GCSE exam. My GD1 had German Listening on Friday, but her first written exam was this afternoon. Her Dad said she went off to school quite calmly this morning. Fingers crossed for both of them, and Lizzie's GD2.

Oma, the accommodation you'd like MIL to go to sounds perfect. She can be with other people if she wants, but having her own front door is probably an advantage, and so is an onsite cafe. Poor Storm, I don't suppose he minds leaving the door open, but it won't make him very popular with you and B.

Lizzie, belated Happy Mothers' Day for yesterday. It's nice that your GD doesn't want to miss your birthday celebration. The choirmaster's funeral will be a sad occasion, but I hope the choir being there will lift everyone's spirits. His poor wife will have a lot to deal with.

Nanto, I got caught in a shower today as well. Things are starting to get back to normal upstairs! Not long now till Thursday, and then you can relax and enjoy your new bathroom.

My GD2 is back from her school trip to the Island. Apparently she had an amazing time, but hasn't said much about it yet. She was grumpy going to school this morning - probably still tired from all the activities and excitement. I didn't do much in the garden, it was too cold and windy. I've got a dental appointment tomorrow morning, but nothing else planned, so if the weather's better I'll do some more gardening.

      Good morning.

Good luck to all of those doing exams.

Gem,good news that DD can drive again.

Going into town this morning. Hubby is meeting his pal.

I want to do a bit of a stock up at the butchers, and browse in a few shops.

I think it's forecast to be a bit warmer today, i hope it is.

        Good morning everyone.

I'm waking up to a bright morning Nan2 so I hope you are too for the trip to town

Daisy, yes good luck to our girls, Lizzie's GD and my friends C and P's GD1, taking her A levels .
I bet your GD2 has a mixture of being tired and a bit of a let down feeling after a good trip is over!

Oma that place sounds like where my auntie G lives. She has her own self contained flat, but a cafe and hairdressers on site, a very smart communal lounge, and company whenever she needs it. She is very happy there.

Library morning for me. Golf for the birthday girl.

          Morning ladies,
All these GC taking exams , I feel for them , it's a stressful time.

          Daisy
I'm sure GD was tired and as Gem said coming back from a nice trip away is a bit deflating isn't it .
Hope the Dentist doesn't cost you this morning , good luck.

          Gem
Tell S we send hugs and hope she has a lovely day at. Golf.
Are you going out tonight then?
Yes your aunty G's place sounds exactly like this one,
Of course we are not guaranteed a place she may have to go on a waiting list but we have heard from someone who works there that 3 units have been empty for a few weeks so fingers crossed,

          Nanto
Enjoy your trip into town , we must get to the farm shop to stock up on meat also.

Well it's damp and dreary here, hopefully the sun will get out at some point but the sky is very grey.

Storms had his toast and treats , he is now asleep in the garden,
I got up during the night as I heard him coughing and was worried he was going to be sick , but he was fine
Opened one eye looked at me and went back to sleep,
Of course I couldn't get back to sleep as I was listening all the time.
It's like having a baby overnight and you listen for any noise 😁

Nothing planned today , I have the washer on just dressing gowns this morning all the rest was done yesterday.

Oma, I can imagine having Storm to stay is like having a GC, you listen for every sound
Mind you now we have little E every Thursday night I sometimes forget he's here!
My auntie owns her flat. I think there are a mixture of owned, part owned and rented where she is.

Thank you for OH's card 😊

Finished planting my pots so no more shopping for plants. I suppose we shall have some hot and dry weather so they will need constant watering. As I said this is the last year I will be planting them and I know no body else will.

Oma, I hope your Mil goes ahead with the sheltered housing idea. It will give you peace of mind too knowing she is safe. It will nice for you to have GS nearer again. I wonder what job he will find.

Daisy, sounds as if GD had an enjoyable time, I expect she needs to catch up on her sleep.

Gemini, how nice for DD3 to be able to drive herself again.

Would you believe we have had hailstones , it's been sunny, wet, dark hailstones and stormy winds all in one day 🙄

SIl rang MIL wasn't well today so she rang the Dr and she came out , MIL has a infection so started her on antibiotics again,
She told the Dr she's going to move into sheltered accommodation so that's a positive sign when she is telling the Dr ,
Dr encouraged her to do it as soon as she can as it will be much better for her,
Hopefully we are on the right track and she stays on it .

We enjoyed our trip into town, but everyone was commenting about how cold it was.
The sun is shining but the wind is wild.

Oma, tha is a good sign if MIL has told the the doctor about sheltered accommodation.

Gem,hope OH is having a lovely birthday.

Same here Nan2, sunny but too cold!

I hope MIL is better soon Oma. Its sounding promising about the sheltered housing.

Well done on getting the pots done Plant.

OH enjoyed her golf and played well . DD2 gave her a big Happy Birthday badge and she wore it all day

The restaurant she fancies for her birthday dinner isn't open on Tuesdays, so we are going tomorrow night instead. I think she's quite glad to stay in after a day on the golf course actually!

Hello everybody. Sorry I've been missing all day. Nothing wrong, just busy, and still is. I'll be back later.

Gem, I don't know where the time goes sometimes.

The day started with a check up at the dentists. All ok, and we had quite a useful chat about Myeloma. Our dentist is lovely - very gentle and kind. He doesn't do anything that's not needed, and you really feel you can trust him.

I had several messages to catch up on, including two from different nieces. It's lovely that they keep in touch and updated on family news, but it took quite a while to reply to them today. OH has been busy all day with life admin stuff, and getting frustrated with overly complicated computer systems and call centres where English is definitely a foreign language to the staff, but I managed to get some washing done and it dried well outside. Made lunch and did a few essential jobs round the house. Eva isn't going to hydro this week, so I took her down to the river for a paddle. It wasn't very deep so I took her further upstream where it's narrower and faster-flowing. She really enjoyed it. Then, of course, we had a longer walk back to the car. OH was still struggling with phone calls, so I made dinner. I've just finished watering some pots. It's so dry they were looking very droopy.

Oma, I had to smile, thinking about you listening out for Storm, like a baby. When Cooper stays he makes sure we know he's around. He will charge up and down stairs at great speed in the middle of the night for a drink - he forgets we keep a bowl of water upstairs. Fingers crossed your MIL doesn't change her mind about sheltered accommodation. Gem's aunt's flat sounds similar to the one my Mum had, except she didn't have an onsite cafe, but the social life was very good and the Warden lived in.

Gem, I'm so glad S enjoyed the golf today, and even wore her big birthday badge. Going out for a meal tomorrow is a really good idea. I hope you're both having a relaxing evening.

Lizzie, is it still very cold for you?

Plant, what have you put in your pots - bedding-type plants?

Nanto, everybody is complaining about the cold, aren't they. We got used to that warm weather in April and didn't bargain for going back to winter temperatures.

Good morning. Heavy rain this morning.

As of yet, no plans for us today.

Gem, hope you both enjoy your meal out tonight.

Daisy, hoping you have a less busy day today.

Good morning, Daisy, it is very cold here!!! I was even cold in bed!!

It is bank holiday here tomorrow, Ascension day, a long weekend, people had plans to go camping etc, they could easily change their minds as rain is forecast as well as hail!

GD1 is enjoying Malta, only she got sun burned, went from cold to hot so thought they would enjoy the sun!

It would be good to do homes like that here Oma, years ago they got rid of all the homes, said the elderly needed to stay in their own homes, now they are regretting the decision! There are care homes when care is needed, not many of those either. My ex is in a care home but not locally as there are no spaces.

I miss my old dentist Daisy, the clinic that took his customers over is more like a factory, they are good, I won't deny that, not the same though. A visit to the dentist is also a visit to the mouth hygienist.

Gem, S will be pleased that she is back to playing golf.

I met the lady yesterday that almost knocked me off my bike, she now says she did see me, but some how or other she didn't brake!!! She said her daughter screamed at her because she didn't brake, a strange story!

                                Good morning all.

Not raining here Nan2, but I think we may get it. I want to wash towels, but looking at the forecast I cant see a day ahead with no rain forecast!!

Lizzie, it sounds as though that lady shouldn't be driving any more!

Aqua for me, then we are going to see my auntie this afternoon. We would like to take her out but she seems to have lost confidence in that way since breaking her hip.I think we will try for next time we see her later in summer. We will choose somewhere with almost no walking, and we take her walking thing.
Out to eat tonight with OH.
