Lizzie, I love my Kindle, and have never regretted getting one. This is my second one, a Paperwhite which is brilliant for reading in any lighting conditions. I get very frustrated when I can't reach things, and when you're not very tall to start with you can't afford to shrink as well!

No, it's not half term for the GDs. Their parents are going to a trade show at the NEC in Birmingham on Monday morning, coming back Tuesday evening. They're currently making some changes to their business and need to see equipment, suppliers of consumables and just keep up to date with the industry in general. It will be a very early start on Tuesday as GD1 has to catch the school bus at 7 am, and we are about half an hour away from the bus stop. Then another trip to GD2's school for their 8.30 start. Still, we're looking forward to having them, and Cooper as well, of course.

I managed to get about an hour's gardening done, but there's not much to show for it.

Daisy, everything does seem better when the sun shines I agree. Coffee and catch up with your friend will have done you good.

Oma, what a lovely mother's day present

That sounds a nice day Lizzie.

We went to the coast after an early lunch (Hunmanby Gap Lizzie) It was sunny but very cold and certainly blew the cobwebs away! Lovely to be out and by the sea.
We had fish and chips on the way home.

        Good morning.

        Happy mothers day.

Gem, a trip to the coast makes a nice change.

We are going out for a meal with DS1 and xDIL.
Don't know where, all i know is a table has been booked. Unfortunately DS2 and DIL can't make it, they are both working..
We will plan another meal out with them at a later date.

        Oma,the floor looks nice.

A very belated Happy Mother's Day to everyone.

Nanto, Thank you for the lovely graphic. I hope you had a delicious lunch and were throughly (and deservedly) spoiled. What a pity DS2 and DIL were working, but at least you get a second celebration. As Oma says, you will have extra cause to celebrate next year. xxx

Oma, that's a spectacular jack-knife! Hopefully nobody was hurt, but it will certainly need heavy equipment to move it. I hope MIL was in a good mood and was pleased to see you on Mother's Day. Your SIL has given you a very good deal on your flooring. What a lovely man he is.

Our GDs are 15 and 12 now. GD1, like Gem's GD is doing her GCSEs and has almost finished her mocks. GD2 has settled down very well in her new school and loves the independence of either walking home with her friends or walking to her parents' shop, and having a browse round the town, usually Boots which is her idea of bliss at the moment.

We had a surprise visit from DS2 and GD2 this morning, with a card, beautiful flowers and a lovely framed photograph from our holiday with the GDs taken on holiday. GD1 had a 2-hour karate class preparing for grading last week, and for reasons I'll explain at some point her Mum has to stay with her. I then had another lovely bouquet delivered from DIL1 who happens to be away this week-end. I've been very spoilt, and I love the house being full of flowers.

I hope all our Grans and Great-grans have felt special today. xxxx

                  Daisy
The lorry was supposed to be over the road at a double football field,
They set up once a year.
                  He took the wrong turning

On the left is a small sideroad,
He tried to back into that to turn around,
As it was so long he had to go onto the grass that is very Wet,
The lorry was so heavy it sank and the more he turned the wheels the deeper he sank.

They eventually rather than bring a crane in brought a huge recovery wagon in and dragged it out,
It's made a real mess of the grass but the council. Were out looking at it while we were there so must be going to repair it all.

The girls are growing up fast aren't they
Sounds like you have had a lovely day ,
I remember my DD at that age loved boots and the makeup counter

We have just had the Cornish pasty's they. We're lovely but huge , I couldn't eat it all,
I need to leave room as B has made a lovely apple and blackberry pie food later 😁

Daisy I am late to the party too!
                    Happy Mothers Day to all.

It sounds as though you have had lovely Mothers Days, as you all deserve

We did celebrate Mothers Day together at DD2's in the end. DD3 was released from hospital. OH and I collected her and drove to DD2's where little E and his daddy and everyone was waiting.
DD3 was VERY tired, but still enjoyed her afternoon and was happy to be with us all. I felt very lucky to be with my 3 DDs.
