Lizzie, it might be cold, but the sun is better than all that snow you had recently. You must be pleased to be out and about again with no fear of slipping over. GD1 would find it hard to get nice stylish clothes without her personal dressmaker. She a very lucky girl. I can imagine how excited GD2 was to have an unexpected chance to drive. It's interesting young drivers have to wait until they're 18 before they can drive on their own. Once they're 18 could they then have passengers in the car. There are so many accidents involving young drivers here, and changes in the law are being discussed. A lot of the accidents involve speed and a car full of youngsters. I hope they can frame legislation to keep them safer. Your DS1 and DIL are going to have a busy time in the UK. I like lambs' liver, but I've never tried calves' .

Nanto, Ev's social life is nearly always better than mine! She and Missy (our neighbour's dog) were funny tonight. They took it in turns to lie in Eva's doughnut bed. It's lovely and soft and probably quite cosy, and they both like it. Missy brought a toy with her and without prompting picked it up to take back home when they were leaving! We had a lovely evening.

Daisy, children had to wait until they were 18 to start driving lessons, a few years ago they changed the rule that they could start at 17, with the rule that they can only drive with another license holder until they are 18 years old, then no one else in the car.

I do read about the accidents with young people in the UK, it does happen here but not as often.

My nephew lives in Northumberland, when his eldest first got driving, he was speeding round a bend, he ended up going through a gap in a stone wall, he learned, whilst he was in the hospital that the gap was made the week earlier and the young man was killed!! That did slow him down after that! He now has teenagers of his own and tells them to be very careful!

Good morning, its another murky morning. Drizzling.

Lizzie glad your nephew learnt his lesson about driving.

No plans for today in this household. Another take it as it comes day.

        Coffee time now.

          Hello ladies
I'm still reading all your posts, even if not replying to everything

I'm staying at home today. I cancelled this mornings aqua class asI have a cold. I wasn't feeling too well yesterday so probably shouldn't have done the deep water one.

I just saw a fox in the dark, coming out of next door's drive and walking fast along the street . This is only the second fox we have seen in our road

I hope everyone has a good week.

            Morning ladies

You need to stay in and get yourself right ,
You did the right thing cancelling Aqua ,
How nice to see the fox , do you think it's his or her normal early morning route?
They are creatures of habit so you might see it again😁

            Lizzie
A lesson learned for your nephew , hopefully his teenagers take heed ,
I bet your GD was very excited getting to drive,

My GS won't get in one of his friends cars ,
He said he's an idiot and shows off,

Many a time they have been to a friend's house and rather than this friend giving him a lift home if he hasn't taken his car ,
He will ring his parents or us to pick him up,

            Nanto
Enjoy your free day , although you know it won't be , someone will call in 😁

Off to SILs shop this morning to pick flooring to go through Dinning room , kitchen, utility & Downstairs loo.

No idea when he will be able to do such a big job as he's very busy at the minute ,
All my old flooring has to come up and screeded to levell it off,
We won't be able to walk on it for a couple of days so we will have a few days away and let him get on with it.

it's a calm quiet weather day here, and not too cold. I'll pop back later and catch up.

Oma that is very sensible of yourGS to avoid going in his friend’s car. I expect he might get a bit of teasing but good for him to sticking to his guns.

Talking of accidents. I was on my way to Pilates this morning and have to go past the Surgery car park. As I was approaching I heard the most terrific bang and shattering of glass. A car had overridden a quite wide pavement and smashed into the surgery wall. The wall was collapsing and a window was shattered. People came running from the surgery and adjacent pharmacy. Someone called for a Doctor who soon ran out. As there was nothing I could do I carried on to Pilates but I admit it did get my heart pounding. When I was in Pilates we saw a fire engine go past. On my way home all was quiet with the car still wedged in the wall with a barrier round it. I hope the driver wasn’t injured too badly and had an airbag though I couldn’t see one.

Daisy what a good dog Eva. was for walking nicely with her new friend. I loved how Missy picked up her toy to take home😀

Gemm do take care of yourself and hope your cold soon clears up.x

Quiet here, I thought I was out this afternoon but I had the day wrong. GD1 did a on-line shopping order for me, I make mistakes. Watched some bowls this afternoon, takes me back to when I played. I do miss it but I decided the time had come to stop.

Oma, have a nice time picking a new flooring, I hate choosing new household items, I am so indecisive. Your GS is very sensible not taking lifts from friends if he isn’t happy with their driving.

Gemini, Wise lady take care of yourself so you can be there for your family, you must all be under a great strain atm.

Plant we all forget things. If I didn't write things down I would have no idea what I should be doing half the time!

Gosh that must have been scary to witness Clover. At least it happened in the tight place to be helped.

I have had a quiet day reading, watching TV and going online.
I'm sure my cold will be much better tomorrow but I have told them I won't go to the library. I don't want to spread my germs.

I'm the same , I have to have everything on my calendar, otherwise I would never know from day to day what I'm doing ,

Today ended up being busy, but I got a lot of jobs done, so am quite pleased but very tired now.

Lizzie, I hope your nephew's teenagers take on board his warnings about safe driving. Our family were all worried about our two GSs when they passed their tests. GS1 in particular thinks his right foot should be flat on the floor at all times. Last Christmas Grandparents and Mum gave them an advanced driving course each, and it's going well. GS1 has learned that he doesn't have to drive flat out all the time, and GS2, a much less confident driver, has gained confidence and improved his driving skills considerably. It was money very well spent.

Oma, good for your GS1 for refusing to go in the friend's car. Hopefully it might make that young man think about his driving habits and drive more sensibly and safely.

Doing all those floors is a big job, to say nothing of the disruption of screeding and having to let it dry. Going away for a few days makes sense, as long as you leave tea, coffee and plenty of snacks for your SIL.

Gem, I'm sorry to hear about your cold, but you've done the right thing staying home and resting. Another day's rest tomorrow will do you good, too. I think foxes are creatures of habit. We sometimes see one on our Ring doorbell, and one time when I was coming home from a late evening activity every week I used to see one crossing the road in the same place every time, going from one garden to another. It explained why Eva always had a good sniff around there.

Clover, what a terrifying accident. The noise must have been horrendous, and I do hope no-one was badly injured. At least there was medical help on hand, but worrying that a fire engine was needed. I wonder why the driver mounted the pavement - something going badly wrong with the car, or the driver being taken ill. I'm sure you felt quite shaken.

Plant, it's so easy to make mistakes with online grocery shopping. I recently ordered the same rubbish washing up liquid three times because it looked very much like our usual one. You may have got the day wrong for your activity, but at least you've still got it to look forward to - you haven't missed it. I find it quite hard to keep track of dates at the moment. With nothing much on the calendar one day merges into the next!

Clover, hope the driver who had the accident is ok.

A big job Oma, having the floors done, it makes sense to go away.

I know it's still dark, but it's doesn't look murky like it has the past couple of mornings.

                            Going into town later.

                              Good morning everyone.

Have a nice town trip Nan2.

I'm not going to the library today, don't want to spread my cold germs. I am free to spend the day with DD3, but she is going to her dads today. A good thing really, I don't want her to catch a cold.
We are invited t0 good friends for a meal tonight. Only small talk and board games on the agenda, which they are fine with.
I will see how this cold goes today, I don't want to cancel but we'll see.

DD spending time with her dad will be a distraction and something else to do , is E going with her?

Are you going into town for anything nice or just your usual Tuesday stuff.

I hope you slept well after a tiring day,
I can imagine Eva liking to smell where the fox was ,
Storm goes crazy when he smells them and squirrels 😁

It's not a bad morning, damp but no rain ,
I was up early , cramp in my foot woke me at 5 and it just wouldn't go away ,
As soon as I came downstairs it's started to go 🙄

I got on with my housework and a few jobs I had put off from yesterday ,
I had breakfast then cleaned the stairs hall and landing , but to be honest it didn't need doing .

Not sure what we are doing today , we will see what turns up .
