Gem, it is sad really, they do need friends etc to progress in their life.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. The sun's shining, but it's chilly.

Lizzie, that sounds like a really bad accident. It's sad any time, but over Christmas everything feels much worse.

Nanto, a KFC is welcome after Christmas food. Enjoy.

Oma, I hope MIL is ok this morning, after her injury yesterday. I haven't got to go to the hospital today - that's next week. This is just an injection before a blood test on Monday, and I can do it at home. I love my nice cosy dressing gowns!

Gem, I know you worry about your GS1, and I can understand it. We want our GCs to have good, fulfilling and happy lives and it must make you sad to see him living a rather solitary life at the moment. But I'm sure he knows he's loved and things change over time. I have a rather odd theory - some children just don't "suit" childhood. It's as though they are waiting to grow up. Perhaps they are old souls - I don't know - but eventually things change for them and they grow into the person they were meant to be.

No plans for us today. It's GD2's birthday and I'm very sad we won't be seeing her - but we don't want to risk passing on OH's flu germs.

No plans for us - just another lazy day.

Quiet here today, all guests departed last evening. Clearing up being done next door then I hope they have time to relax. Nothing takes place in my rooms so I am nice and tidy. H is fascinated by the baby. He was so good, they are amazing parents.

Fire pit, how lovely Nanto. We have had a lot of wind, not good for an outside fire.

As I mentioned, we had a very windy day yesterday, the trees in the woods were bending over, quieter day today, sunny but cold.

Gemini, I can imagine how you feel when your GS1 does not join in family events.do you think he is happy. How old is he now? How do you think he would behave if you all went to his house?

Daisy, I hope you will be able to join in family events soon.

Oma, Oh dear, sorry to hear Mil had a fall, at least she didn’t hurt herself too badly to finish up in hospital again. I love my dressing gown but try not to spend too much time in it, very tempted sometimes. I hope you find one you like.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant it wasn't a fall , she was putting stuff in the bin outside rather than wait till we got there and the bin lid fell and caught her face just above her eye

How lovely for little H to have the baby there ,
Do you think she will maybe get a little brother or sister in the future😁

          Daisy
I'm sure GD understands and she will see you soon,
Hope your having a lovely quiet day and getting stronger XX

          Gem
It is a worry with GS not having friends around him and being a bit of a loner,
But Daisy may be right on her theory that's some children don't come into their own till the mature more.
You can only watch and wait,
Have you discussed it with his mum?

I've stood and done all the ironing , I washed and dried this morning,
5 pairs of Bs trousers, 3 are cargo pants and I hate ironing them , so many pockets drive me mad.

It's wet and dreary here never been light all morning

We popped to M&S this morning it was empty,
Then to pet at home stock up on Storms treats,
They have. A pick and mix section and they are so much cheaper than the supermarkets,
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Gem, what a shame GS1 didn't join you all yesterday.

Oma, been dull here all day.

One of the jobs this morning was tidying the drawers in the kitchen freezer.
After we got back from KFC i did the drawers in the out side freezer.
Over the next few days i need to stock it up with some homemade ready meals.

Daisy, I hope your GD has a lovely day. Keep getting better and celebrate with her soon xxx
I have a lovely fleece dressing gown btw! Very cosy

I like your theory about GS1 actually . He definitely prefers the company of adults and even as a child although he had friends he talked a lot more to to the adults. All the teachers and dinner ladies at school knew him!

Plant GS1 is 13 now. I think he is mostly happy, certainly a lot happier now he is home schooled.

We washed some towels but apart from making lunch and clearing up neither of us has done much today. Watched a fair bit of telly and played rummikub and a new card game we got for Christmas. To add to the laziness we are having fish and chips for tea

Plant, I bet your DD and SIL were ready for a quiet day. It's lovely to see small children enjoy ing being with babies. I remember how fascinated both of our GSs were with our GDs (their cousins) when they were tiny, and in fact they are all good friends, especially GS2 and GD1. It has been less windy today, thank goodness.

Nanto, it looks as though you are going to have a busy few days in the kitchen getting your freezers restocked.

Oma, I had a quick chat on the phone with GD2 today. She has had some lovely birthday presents and was very excited. Her other grand parents would be going over to see her, so she will at least see some family. Oh, how I feel for. you - ironing cargo pants. Such an awful job, but J is like B, he loves them! All those pockets to put things in, and some of them always seem to end up in the washing machine.

Gem, what colour is your cosy fleece dressing gown? My really cuddly one is a bright raspberry pink with a hood, but I have a more sober one in grey and white! I think it's fascinating to see just how different children are, and if GS1 is healthy and seems happy then those are the most important things. It's interesting that he has always been comfortable in adult company.

I finally felt well enough to take Eva for a short walk this afternoon. I wrapped up well, and it was nice to be out in the sunshine. I made a curry for dinner tonight, but was shattered afterwards. I can have a lie in in the morning.

Good morning, the cold wind from Russia has moved on! I went to see GD2 at work yesterday morning, it was bitter cold on the bike but I survived.

I can't have fleece dressing gowns or clothes as they irritate my skin, I am not an easy woman to please!!! I have fleece dressing gowns hung in the wardrobe from when the GD's slept here.

You would be pleased to get out with Eva Daisy.

My new duvet arrived yesterday, I slept well, it is not as light as down or polyester, I don't mind that though.

I hope to get to the gym at 8am, I will catch up on all the chats later on.

                    Good morning ladies.

Daisy, such a shame about missing GD birthday, but I'm sure you'll make up for it when you can.
Glad you felt a bit better yesterday.

Lizzie, pleased you are happy with your new duvet.

No plans for us today, but as I always say, things can change.

                      Good morning everyone.

Brrrrr, Lizzie, thank goodness that Russian wind has moved on!

No plans days often end up being something happening days Nan2, don't they?

Daisy my dressing gown is white and my favourite shade of blue, patterned.
The walk although tiring will probably have done you good . I hope your household is soon feeling a lot better.

No plans here. We haven't left the house for several days so I think we should in some way! I could go to deep water aqua this afternoon, but I'm leaving it until next week. I will be there tomorrow morning for the other class though.

                        Morning Nanto, Ladies.

A quiet day for us ,
I have stripped our bed that's in the wash,
After that a pile of towels to be done ,
I did intend doing them yesterday but I forgot,

GS1 has just phoned he's on his way to Edinburgh to play in a golf match,
                        He's coming for tea tomorrow,

                        Lizzie
I'm pleased you like your new duvet,
I have been looking at the coverless ones ,
They come in a variety of colours and you just put them in the wash ,
I'm not sure though I will research them a bit more.

                        Daisy
Don't overdo things let yourself get stronger before you tackle big jobs,
At least with this weather you don't have the garden to do😁
                        That's a bonus.

I found a plastic carrier bag in one of Bs cargo pants , it had been washed and dried ,
It's usually the odd screw or even a drill bit ,

Last wash it was a little pencil and some rather crumpled paper,
If it had measurements or anything important on it was impossible to read.

I check the top pockets but can't be bothered with the others😁

Gem our posts crossed again 😁♥️

                          Good Sunday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, thank goodness that cold wind has moved away. I hope your new duvet proves the perfect one for you.

Nanto, yes, we will catch up with Christmas and GD2's birthday at some point. We had a little chat on the phone and she could have had her presents yesterday but she didn't want to open them if we weren't there, which was very sweet of her.

Gem, your blue and white dressing gown sounds lovely. Yes, you could probably do with a bit of fresh air today if the weather is reasonable. I hope S is ok.

Oma, the washing continues to pile up, no matter what, doesn't it. Whatever OH leaves in his trouser pockets stays there. Like B, it's often a pencil, screw, drill bit or unidentified paper. Plus, pooh bags! I never check. I started this when the DSs were teens. I was working long hours and they had basic jobs they had to do, which included checking their own pockets and putting things in the clothes basket with zips done up, jeans turned inside out etc.

I've been looking at those duvets you just put straight in the wash. I wonder what they're like - I don't think the adverts say what tog they are.

We're having another lazy day. OH is starting to feel a bit better, thank goodness, but still quite weak and tired. Apart from a dry cough, I don't feel too bad, but am going to take it easy anyway.

I have a summer weight all in one duvet which I really like and it washes and dries well. Not sure about washing and drying a winter weight one though.

Our no plans day didn't get changed.

Just been a normal kind of day for us.
I've done housework and hubby has cleaned the car inside and out.

off to amend my Sainsbury order now for the millionth time.

WeeGranny, it's useful to know the summer weight all in one duvet works well. Do you dry it in a tumble dryer if it's raining?

Nanto, that must a a first - none of your plans got changed. I don't think I'll need a Sainsburys order at all this week. We've still got lots to eat up.

We've got an early (for us) start tomorrow. OH has to drop his glasses off at Specsavers to have new lenses fitted, then I've got a blood test at the local hospital, and then we can go back and collect OH's glasses. Apart from walking Eva yesterday and today, I haven't been out of the house since about the 17 December, and OH hasn't been out at all.
