Quiet day for me after the crowd yesterday. Lovely lunch cooked by DD mainly. DS, Dil and GS3 popped in in the morning. GS2 and his wife came in the afternoon, they are still here.

Daisy I hope you are both feeling a bit stronger today but don’t rush it.

Gem, busy day for you, another family gathering.

Oma, so pleased Mil was in a good mood and enjoyed her day.

WG, power cut not good on Christmas Day, I suppose it was an overload.

Plant the power cut was in your neighbouring village and old Amersham! So quite a large area! I’ve just had a message to say my water supply has been restored! Lots of problems it seems!
Absolutely beautiful day, but the wind along the Danube is bitter!
Have a good St Stephen’s day ladies x

Happy Boxing Day greetings to everyone.

The sunshine we had this morning has now disappeared, ad it's very chilly.

We are having another lazy day. DS2 and GD1 called round briefly but kept their distance. We certainly don't want to pass anything on to them. It's GD2's birthday tomorrow, so we gave them her birthday card (with a little something inside) and we'll have a proper birthday present opening session later.

OH is feeling a bit better, but still not great. I just feel tired. I'm due an injection tomorrow which I hope will help my Hg levels and give me a bit more energy. We've both got more appetite though, and that helps.

It's the lull before the next injection isn't it ,
Good to hear you have some appetite back though.

MIl managed to split just above her eye this morning,
Went to put stuff in the wheelie bin instead of waiting till SIL1 got there, and the lid came down and caught her,
Of course with her skin being so thin now it split easily and bruised, she's ok though,,
Then her toaster blew up 🙄

I've just been up to close. The bedroom windows, I forgot I had opened them this morning,
It's freezing in the bedrooms now .

Oh dear Oma, MIL in the wars.Glad she's ok though.

Daisy, its a start having a bit more appetite.

Been a more normal day for us. I did some washing this morning.
We've been sitting in the garden with the fire pit lit. It was lovely.

DS1 came for dinner again. He didn't stay long,he was going to see his DD2.

Bro in law from the bungalow came about 3ish and stayed for an hour.

                    Keep warm WG!

Plant, you deserve a quiet day after a busy social one.

We had a g0od day. It was lovely to have everyone here. No GS1 again, same as last Boxing Day. It's his choice and they only live two miles way so he knows his mum or one of us would go for him if he decided to join us.DD thinks he's done his limit of Christmas socialising this year!
Quiet evening for us now and not much planned over the weekend.

Nanto, how wonderful, sitting in the garden enjoying the fire pit. What a pity your dS1 couldn't stay to enjoy it as well.

Oma, oh dear, poor MIL. I hope she's ok - things had been going well so I hope this doesn't send her back into a mood. Typical that her toaster choses today to blow up as well. I sometime forget to close bedroom and bathroom windows, until the howling draughts remind me!

Gem, Perhaps GS1 does feel he can't cope with any more socialising at the moment. As you say, he's old enough to know how he feels. Relax and have a lovely week-end.

WeeGranny, I hope the wind has dropped a bit now. It must feel raw blowing along the Danube like that.

Plant, I hope you're feeling rested today after your busy Christmas Day.

Good morning everyone, DS1 and family picked me up to go to DS2 yesterday afternoon, we should have arrived there at 5pm, due to a massive motorway being closed we arrived at 7pm! I have just read that is was a multiple vehicle collision, we thought as much as they don't often close motorways completely here. The meal was very good and I enjoyed us all being together. GD1 had made the dessert, tiramisu , it was delicious even though I am not keen on desserts!

Oma, my bedroom window is never closed! I like a cold room to sleep in. It is cold here as well, it was -6 on our way home last night.

GD2 is working this morning at the supermarket so I will wrap up well and go on the bike to do some shopping there, I am expecting a parcel delivery later so want to be home for that.

It is 56 years ago today that we arrived here, how the village has changed over the years!!!

Daisy, I hope that you feel better after the injection and that you both soon get well.

                        Oma, your poor MIL!

Gem, I expect teenagers get enough of socialising, they like to have their own lives as well. The girls had the choice to go last night, they did both go as they don't get to see DS2 and partner that often.

I treated myself to a comfy dressing gown, Hecket and Lane? Is that known in the UK, it is 100% cotton, so soft and cosy.

I am going to get myself dressed.

Nanto, you would be warm with the fire pit.

Good morning Lizzie and all who follow.
Both of us had a dressing gown bought for Christmas.
Personally i don't particularly find them comfortable.

The only plans for us today is going to KFC, so no cooking.

Daisy, hope you are both feeling a bit better today.

                          It's another frosty morning.

I'm not good with dressing gowns ,
I have two hanging on the back of the bedroom door , I usually end up wearing a long cardigan,
Although I wouldn't mind a cotton one to try,
                              Enjoy your KFC
I had a bacon sandwich last night for tea ,
                              Neither of us was hungry.

                              Lizzie
Pleased you had a good time ,

I hope there wasn't any fatalities in the pile up .
I think I will Google Hecket & Lane see if we have one.

                              Daisy
I hope it goes ok at the hospital this morning and you start to pick up after your injection xx

At GSs age they don't want to be dragged everywhere do they,
You want them to come but they are happy with their own company.

Nothing planned for us, Martin and Clare going to MILs so I suspect they might call in for Finn's gifts .

                                Oh dear re MIL Oma

Lizzie, GS1 is a teenager who DOESNT see his own friends, as he doesn't go to school and rarely sees anyone! I think that's why socialising is hard. I was a bit disappointed he didn't at least come for the meal, but there you are. GD is 16 and I'm sure has lots she would rather do, but is always at family gatherings. We are used to GS1 though, he has always been a bit of a law unto himself

                                No plans for us today.
