    Good Friday morning, everyone.

Thank you all so much for your kind enquiries and good wishes for OH. His blood oxygen it still on the low side, and he's not sleeping because he says there is a noise going on all night and when he closes his eyes computer-like images flash before them. I've phoned the surgery and the doctor will call me back.

I think I've got it as well! My throat is sore and it hurts if I cough. But I'm feeling better than I did first thing. My neighbour is collecting OH's prescription for me. Sainsburys are due 1-2.

It's a much better day today. The rain has stopped and most of the floods have cleared, thank goodness.

Plant, I agree, the mince pies in the shops nowadays are good.
Some years I don't make them but decided to this year. I will buy a few extra as well

Oh dear Daisy, what a worry for you and you not 100% yourself. I hope the doctor can help.

You must tell the Dr your picking it up,
You may need preventive meds , or ring the hospital, just to be on the safe side.
Poor J he sounds delicious doesn't he , that will be the low oxygen , MIL see's and hears things when she isn't getting enough oxygen.
A very worrying time for you.

I had a 30 minute nap after lunch and felt so much better so I washed all the doors and skirtings then as B wrapped GS's and Lucie's gifts I did the bedrooms , they need hoovering now then they are done.

It's only took ten and a half year but Storm has finally picked up a stick to take home,
              He's a very slow learner😂
We just need for him to chase a ball now and he's a real Dog 🐕 🤣🤣

That’s so cute Oma. A “proper” dog made me chuckle. I hope B’s sore throat eases soon.

Oh Daisy I’m so sorry to hear J is so poorly and you don’t feel so great either.I really hope the drugs help soon and you don’t go down with it. What a lovely neighbour you have.
Wishing you both a speedy recovery xx

Storm sounds like DD's previous one.....he'd chase a ball/stick and just leave it lying there for someone else to pick up! Unlike this one, throwing, catching, rope pulling, he loves it all! It's funny watching him go through his toy box to find the one he wants!

Daisy, I hope you're both feeling a bit better this evening, but I'll echo Oma and say you need to let your GP/consultant know as your immune system will be low and you may need something to to avoid it getting worse. Please don't try and do too much over the coming days. Sending hugs ((()))x

Hope too that anyone else under the weather is soon feeling better.

I'm trying to get myself organised for my trip away, but I keep getting distracted! DB is coming tomorrow and I've finally got the housework done, so I can concentrate on my suitcase before he arrives ( fingers crossed).

Have a good evening ladies. Take care xx

Thank you for all your kind thoughts. The doctor was very reassuring. Basically, for OH to keep taking the meds. He said it's very early days and by the beginning of next week he should be feeling much better. He's also now started on the antiviral tablets, which should help. We've had a relaxing afternoon doing nothing except chat.

I felt a bit better as the day wore on - like B, it's mainly a sore throat. I hope a good night's sleep tonight will make a difference as well.

Oma, be careful what you wish for with Storm. Eva loves to chase a ball, but won't give it back. She teases you with it, or rolls on it. Our lovely neighbour took her for a good walk with their dog this afternoon, and she (Eva) had a lovely time. Sticks are banned, because she gets possessive about them if another dog is around.

I don't know about Storm being a slow learner, though, I think he's very picky and it has to be exactly the right stick for him.

Gem, I'm still determined to make our mince pies. Shop ones feel like cheating to me, and are often rather bigger than I like. I make them a bit smaller and then don't feel guilty if I have 2, or 3 or more.

EDIT. I typed this a few minutes ago but must have forgotten to actually post it!

Wee Granny, dogs always seem to want the toy at the bottom of the toy box, and it's often the one with the loudest squeak! You sound very well organised for your trip. When do you actually travel? Is your DB going with you?

Daisy, I am pleased to see that you are both feeling a little better, the medicine will help your DH, it can last a while though, I am still not 100% over the virus I had.

Oma, my dog loved to run after balls, the only thing was , he would run to the ball, give it a smell then carry on leaving the ball! I lost a few balls like that until I gave it up!

Good to hear your both feeling a bit better Daisy!
Meant to mention mince pies in previous message but forgot. If you have a Wenzels near you, there mince pies are lovely, deep with Demerara sugar on top! If you’re not a fan of traditional mincemeat, Waitrose’s limoncello ones are delicious!

Daisy I’m not organised, just made a banana cake. OH used to say I was a great procrastinator! DD managed to order 5 bunches of bananas in her Tesco delivery, so I got given two. I’ve used one and will freeze the other. DB only here for weekend and will head home on Monday.

Nan when we had Doggo while DD was on holiday we used to walk him along the river. One day he found a grotty half tennis ball which he picked up and carried before dropping it. Next day the ball was in a different place. This went on for several days before it disappeared. We had visions of other dogs doing the same as him!

Night night ladies, hope you all have a good night! Xx

Hope the poorlies are soon recovered.

We are going into town. Just need a few bits.
Hoping to see DIL at the cafe where she works.
Then meeting DS2 to exchange presents.

                                Good morning everyone.

Nan2, I hope it's fine for your trip to town.

Daisy, I'm very glad to hear of improvement in your household. How are things today?

Lizzie I have have heard that the current viruses seem to last ages.

Are you all ready for your trip WG? I thought I was the only one to make silly mistakes over supermarket orders!

                                Oma, well done to Storm

I dropped DD and SIL2 off in town before bringing GS back here for the night. SIL drove as the right turn from their road to the main road can take ages, and he is more forceful!
He parked in town, we swapped seats and off they went. I then discovered that I couldn't release the handbrake I phoned both DD and SIL to get them back but no answer. So I had to stand in the street accosting men to help me! A nice young man listening to headphones told me that he couldn't drive yet as no licence, but could release a handbrake! He did this and I thanked him, we would have been stuck there - in an area you are not meant to park! GS was talking to his mum on the car speaker phone when I got in, she having phoned back.

We are all in our pyjamas , GS2 is being picked up late morning. No Saturday morning choir for him as it's the Christmas break.

Our 'Christmas' Tesco order is due between 9 and 10 this evening. I hope at least one of us is awake!!

I was awake a lot during the night with a sore throat
