      Good morning everyone.

I posted about half an hour ago and it's not here, although the time of last post was showing as the time I posted!

I'm not sure what is going on. I will begin a new thread for us to report when we have lost post, so we can get an idea how big the problem is. Thanks!

Anyway, luckily it wasnt a long post and fingers crossed this one stays!

My back feels a lot easier, the weather looks nice, so we will get out, and also book a slot at the little pool here.
      Back later!

          Good morning all.

          That's a cute happy panda Nan2

A very fine day is forecast. We will get out and about, and book a slot for the little pool here too. That excruciating pain I had for few hours wore off, so I will just be a bit careful today.
Charlie Bigham moussaka with broccoli and green beans tonight. We had Tesco Finest macaroni cheese with garlic bread and salad last night. Tomorrow night we will eat out again.

Oma, we buy Yorkshire tea decaf.
The hand hel vacuum cleaner sounds like a bargain.
We have a Black and Decker one.

Gem, glad the pain has gone away. Enjoy tour time in the pool.

I've got corned beef hot pot cooking in the slow cooker.
Time to stock up on homemade ready meals for the freezer.

              Well an eventful afternoon,

Took MIL to Morrisons walking down the cleaning isle and a full box of fabric softener fell from the top shelf narrowly missing me,
The exploded around me covering my trousers and shoes,
3 staff were witnesses and I should have asked to see the manager but I was so shocked I just wiped my trousers down and walked away,
It wasn't till I got into MIL that it hit me how lucky I was.

I rang customer care and they said they would pass on my complaint but it was obviously a Indian call centre and they were not really interested.

I have emailed the store manager hopefully I get a reply from him but I won't hold my breath.
If I was a couple of inches back I would have had the whole lot on my head ,

I dread to think what would have happened if they had hit MIL in the wheelchair,
It could have done serious damage or worse.

I thought i had made enough hop pot for 3 meal, but there was enough for four.

Quiet day for me today, GD borrowed my car to see her friend for lunch. I think the next time I go to the opticians she will refer me for an op.

Oma, I had a very close friend who always worked in the kitchen with drawers open, hence always full of crumbs. I have a small hand held vacuum but when I go to use it, it is always out of charge. I hope B gets on okay at dentist.

Nanto, your garden must be the tidiest in the road, lovely neat edges.

Gemini, I hope your holiday is still going well, keep off the sand dunes.

Daisy, I hope all is well with you.

                        Hello everyone.

I'll try and catch up tomorrow. Nothing wrong (so at least I haven't lost any posts) it's just been a busy day. Tomorrow is no better - hospital, OH's 80 birthday, collect Eva from DS2's and get back in time for groceries delivery, and OH has to go out at 5 pm. I still haven't made his birthday cake for Sunday yet.

                            Morning Nanto, Ladies.

                            Not a bad morning,
I was up very early this morning just before 5

I have cleaned through , put a wash on and emptied the kitchen bin and recycle bin.

My neighbour phoned at 6.30, did I have a spare hairdryer hers had blown up and she was getting ready for work,
I knew I had a spare one somewhere but couldn't remember where,
As it happens it was in the first draw I looked in so I took it to her
She was so relieved as her hair is wild if she doesn't blow wave it😁

We are not having the dog today as I'm having him two days next week DD away for work and SIL is fully booked this week so can't take time off.

                            Daisy
I hope all goes well at the hospital, give J a hug from us and wish him happy birthday,

                            Nanto
It's the time of year to be making nice hearty meals for the freezer isn't it,
We couldn't decide what to have for tea last night, so B had spicy wings with chips and I had a fish finger sandwich 🥪

We might pop down to the garden centre this morning they have the Christmas decorations up and it's always spectacular so we will go have a look,
Apart from that I might spend some time with my book.

I tried reading some in bed last night but I was so tired I read the same few lines over and over so I gave up.

                              Good morning everyone.

Daisy, at the risk of nagging, you should have bought/ordered a cake! You are not supposed to be running yourself ragged

Plant, I presume it is the cataract op the optician will refer you for?

Another lovely sunny day here. We are swimming at 10.15. We will come back shower and then head out. We are booked into a pub for dinner tonight.

I'm not sure whether to say "good late Friday afternoon" or "good early Friday evening afternoon", or just "hello".

Nanto, I made a large cottage pie some weeks ago for visitors and to meet the dietary problems of one of them. Then they were ill and couldn't come, so it's still in the freezer. If we all lived closer I'd invite you all round to share it. . I love the cute thatched cottage to greet us today. It reminds me of the witches cottage made of cake in Hansel & Gretel.

In a random conversation with OH yesterday, we were commenting on how many thatched roofs in our area were in need of repair or rethatching. It's specialist, labour intensive work and very expensive, and waiting lists can be long because there aren't a lot of skilled thatchers around. We were wondering how long it would be before they all disappeared and were replaced with tiles!

Gem, I'm pleased your back is better and you can enjoy the rest of your holiday. I did actually order a cake I can decorate easily for OH's birthday, just in case I didn't make one. I might have to see how I feel in the morning! Enjoy your evening out tonight.

Oma, you and B have had a busy week, but I was shocked about your near miss in the supermarket. Surely heavy items like that shouldn't be on high shelves anyway! I'd definitely complain to someone who will take notice. Apart from any thing else it could happen again and be so much worse. Did you go to see the Christmas displays at the garden centre. They are so eye-catching - and expensive! - but nice to look. I hope b is pleased with his new crown and isn't in any pain.

Plant, your GD1 must be very grateful to be able to borrow you car on occasion. If the eye problem is cataracts then I hope your optician refers you sooner rather than later. The consultant told me people shouldn't wait until they get "ripe". I get the same problem sometimes with my vision going jagged and seeing flashing lights. Some times it only lasts a minute or two, other times a bit longer. Comparatively recently I found out they are called 'silent migraines', so no headache or nausea, just the flashing lights. Mine can be triggered by certain artificial lighting, or sometimes for no apparent reason. Have you told your optician or GP about them just to be on the safe side?

All went well at the hospital today, but after three different lots of injections I'm feeling a bit tired! The ward sister came over and said hello, and was OH with me. I said yes, he's in the waiting area reading happy birthday messages (there were no newspapers today). A few minutes later a couple of nurses came over and asked if OH was allergic to nuts. I said "no". The young lady who seems to be a general assistant (used to be called "ward orderlies" I think) made him a cup of tea, remembering he doesn't take sugar, and a box of chocolates from the ward staff. A few minutes later she reappeared with tea for me and my favourite chocolate brownies. They were very busy this morning, and I thought it was lovely that they took the time to help make OH's day special.
