    Good morning.

Lizzie it's very cold here, forecast to last well into next week.
Some areas had a sprinkling of snow yesterday, but not in our part of Yorkshire.
Good news about your neighbour, but bad news about the cyclist.

Daisy, hope oh has got over his locked door escaped.
Lovely to finally see GD even if it was belated.

We had a house full yesterday afternoon, various family members all came at the same time.

We are going to Wakefield today. Its not the town it used to be, but it makes a change

          Morning ladies

Well we set out to visit Martin& Clare and to take Finn's presents ,
We had to turn back , it's blizzards. And the motorway was crawling to almost. A standstill.
The snow is coming down thick.

We will try again on Friday, it's very dark at the minute.

          Daisy
Poor J , did he have his phone with him?

The pharmacy's in all hospitals must be the same ,either they don't bring it to the Ward or you wait ages.
          Did everything else go ok?

I bet. GD was pleased to see you both

          Lizzie
The poor man , a shock for that family,
Good news for your neighbour though, the relief she must has felt.
Nice of your DS to suggest getting your shopping sorted.

          Nanto
I hope you get to Wakefield without the snow we have ,

DD & SIL are traveling back home from Leeds this morning, I hope. The motorway has been cleared by then,
They went in SILs van and he's a good driver so not too worried, but prefer they are home.

We dropped Storm off GS was going to take him on a short walk,
Storm is finding it difficult to get up now his old bones are playing up so although he loves the snow ,
I said not to keep him out too long.

            Good morning ladies.

Have a nice Wakefield trip Nan2.

Lizzie, good news about that lady. Be careful on your bike in winter!!

Daisy, I'm glad your day ended well with seeing your family. Poor OH! It take me back to being locked in that poolside loo in Majorca when they had to get a maintenance man to open the lock

Oma, how disappointing to not take Finns presents today but best to stay safe. There will be other days.

Very cold here but sunny and dry.
The panto was great as were our puddings at the cafe! Lovely to see the boys laugh so much
No plans today. We feel we should go out as it's sunny, but who knows??!!

                Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, what a relief for your neighbour. I hope whatever it is it's something that can be easily treated. She must be so relieved, and I hope she's celebrating her birthday with a light heart. Perhaps something will now be done with that dangerous crossing, so no-one else gets hit by the trams. Poor chap, and sad for his family. It was thoughtful of your DS offering to sort out your shopping. It sounds like a day to stay in and keep warm and avoid the snow.

Nanto, that's a very wintery scene, but I'm sure there are parts of the country that look like that today. It sounds as though yesterday afternoon was party time at your house. I think it's very sad that there are so many towns and cities that have gone downhill like Wakefield.

Oma, it was sensible not to battle on through that weather. Yes, unusual, but J did have his phone with him, but I had no reception! It's sad when dogs get to the stage of creaky joints, isn't it. Poor Storm. Is he having any treatment or pain relief for his joints? Eva's back legs are getting stiff and I've got painkillers for her, but it's not really addressing the problem, just relieving the symptoms. We'll take her back to the vets and see what other options there are. The trouble is she forgets she's an old lady and plays like a puppy, then suffers for it.

Gem, I'm sure you must miss your old traditional pantomime and the brilliant Dame, but how lovely to see the boys enjoying the 'new' one. I'm glad the puddings came up to expectations as well. What did you have? We've decided that although the sun's shining, we're having a cosy day in by the fire! OH has been to the village and got very cold, but I will take Eva for a short walk, with both of us wrapped up warmly.

As usual on the day after treatment, I'm feeling really well, but I'm going to resist trying to catch up with housework! I'll make some soup for lunch-time. The dog food has arrived and I've got it in the freezer. Sainsburys aren't due till 8 o'clock tonight. Apart from that, nothing will get done.

Funny sort of day, I had planned to go out somewhere as I haven’t been out since before Christmas but woke up to a white out. I gather the main roads were clear but our drive and our road were not until later. GD, and H were in doing puzzles etc so I joined them. We are supposed to have more snow. We had a golden lab and he was attracted to dirty pants. Swallowed a couple and had to go to the vets. DD had to stop putting them on the floor before they went into the washing machine.

Nanto, shame you missed your trip but you are always busy.

Gemini, I tried to book the local panto but it was all sold out.

WG is your doggo interested in my GGS kicking his ball into the net? Or GGD on the trampoline.

This above post was written yesterday and for some reason didn’t get posted.

Nothing happening today, haven’t seen the family apart from Sil dealing with my re-cycling. I am annoyed I still can’t go out the white stuff is still with us. I have a grocery delivery later, I hope he can get here okay. I am told the main roads are clear but we have very little traffic in our road.

No snow here Oma, as yet.
Got all that we wanted from Wakefield.
It was bitterly cold but nice and warm in the shops and cafe.

Plant, the dog is more interested in scaring next door’s cat than he is in anything else! I enjoy hearing your GGC playing in the garden!
Woke up yesterday with a bloodshot eye which became very tender and inflamed over the day. By the time the family went home it began to look as if I had a black eye. Was weeping and sore this morning so DD drove me to the pharmacy who was reluctant to give me anything and said it needed to be looked at. So after a call to 111 we went to the local minor injuries unit. After a two hour wait I was seen by a doctor who diagnosed an infection and sent a prescription to a local pharmacy. Got there only to find they didn’t have the drops and sent us to another one which’s luckily did have them! If it’s no better by Monday I have to go to the main hospital, 🤞I don’t have to!
Home now abd fire and heating on.
                        Forecast is-8 degrees tonight!
Pleased J was released from the loo, Daisy!
Hope everyone has had a good day. Keep safe and warm ladies xx

WeeGranny, eye infections seem to spring up very quickly. Everything crossed for you that the drops you've been prescribed are working by Monday. An unscheduled trip to the hospital is no fun. Sometimes it can be really difficult to find a pharmacy with the items you need, which is very frustrating. It's certainly not the best time to be driving round from one place to another.

Our main hospital has an eye casualty unit so you avoid the main scrum of A&E, but still not a pleasant outing.

                          Your forecast is very cold!

Nanto, at least the shops and cafe gave you chance to thaw out a bit.

Plant, I hope the white stuff soon disappears, but I think you are sensible not to risk a fall if your local road isn't clear.

I took Eva out just after lunch, and we were both wrapped up very warmly - Eva in her fleece coat, and me in so many layers I didn't even count. But it was worth it as neither of us was shivering! It was so good to come into a cosy living room and sit down with a cuppa and a chocolate digestive!

Oh WG I hope your eye problem clears up soon. It sounds very sore.

Daisy, I bet you were glad to get back to your warm home and cuppa and bickies!

Stay safe Plant. I hope the snow clears soon.

We went to the nature reserve this afternoon. We walked around the lake which was frozen. Apart from 3 big geese walking on the ice, a coot and couple of small birds, no wildlife in sight. We didn't sit on any of the benches and watch the world go by as we usually do, far too cold! It was good to get out though. We dropped a dish back to a friend who brought a pudding on New Years Eve and lives near the reserve. She invited us in for a cuppa. It was good to warm up and use the loo!

Good morning ladies. Very cold again.

WG,hope your eye clears up soon.

Gem, i bet you were both glad to get back home to a warm house. I know we were yesterday after our day in Wakefield.

Plant, hope the snow has gone.

I've just made four corned beef and onion pies. The ones with beans and mash on the top. Three will go in the freezer, and one is for today.

I'm having a cup of coffee while the dishwasher is on. When its finished I'm going to clean it.

                              Stay warm ladies.

                                Good morning everyone.

Nan2, a good start to the day getting those pies made

No golf for OH as her playing partner had a bad shoulder. OH isn't too sorry as its very cold out there.

I am booked into the the deep aqua class this afternoon. I have until midday to cancel if I decide to. I haven't been to that class for a couple of week so I will go I think. The class time (4.10 to 4.55) puts a lot of people off in winter!
