Gentleman home , he lived in the next Street over , DD seen his family looking for him😁

    Gem
We always tried to not park near the school but on days like this and it's wild out I think you can be forgiven for parking there.

The rain is lashing down and it's very windy,
The garden is just a carpet of leaves,

Storm had duck legs with rice for lunch he's been too stuffed to move and he won't go out in the rain 😁

Very late checking in, had a bad night and keep dropping off. I am keeping away from next door, Sil now has the virus, DD feeling a bit better. GD1 popped in to see if I was okay. Raining all day, hasn’t stopped once.

Gem, I hope your virus is on its way out and S isn’t going to get it. Getting near to your trip.

Daisy, It is a struggle to get animals to take their medicine, good job you were on hand to help your neighbour.

Oma, I had to read your post more than once to understand that a perfect stranger walked into your DD house and helped himself to food etc. He picked the right house to move into, some people would feel very threatened by a stranger moving into.

Daisy, the company that OH worked for used to make special food for flamingoes to keep them pink! I also used to get dried dog food from the factory as that was another of their products

I drove past our school at about quarter past two this afternoon and all of the parking spaces nearest to the school were already taken. The children don't finish until after three!

Had my flu and covid jabs this morning. It was literally a case of one out, one in! everyone in the queue had their sleeves rolled up ready so there were no hold ups!

Been a miserable day here, rained for most of it and the wind is now getting up. Hope everyone keeps safe.

Hope too that all the poorly people feel better soon.

Have a good evening ladies! x

Good morning. We are still being battered by storm Amy.

Hope all those feeling under the weather feel better soon.

Oma,it tickled me when you said the gentleman was helping himself from DDs fridge.

We aren't going out today. Both of us will find plenty to do.

Hubby will have a chicken tikka for dinner. I'm having the spare roast dinner from Monday. I've taken it out of the freezer.

              Good morning ladies.

Still very windy here, but the rain has stopped.

Good idea to stay home today Nan2.

Plant I hope the family virus stays away from you. I am feeling a lot better thanks and OH fine thank goodness.

It will be lovely to see your GS Oma , and he will no doubt enjoy the breakfast

Well done getting your flu jabs done WG and Oma.
Mine is next Saturday I think. I tried to book a Covid one but am too young. Nice to be too young for something I suppose!
Just packing today and maybe searching out some cobwebs!! Our cat sitters arrive tomorrow evening and we go on our little break on Monday.
I will make a shepherds pie for tonight and one for the freezer when we get back.

                Good Saturday morning, everyone.

WeeGranny, I'd read somewhere about flamingoes being fed food to keep their pink colour, but I didn't believe it was true! It's incredible that people on school pick ups arrive so early to get a parking space. Although I suppose if you've got a baby or toddler as well, you don't want to be walking too far to get back to your car. My OH had his flu jab this morning, and it was the same, all hands on deck and one out/one in. He was out and home before his designated appointment time.

Plant, I'm sorry to hear your SIL has got the virus now. I hope you don't get it too, but GD1 is keeping an eye on you. The rain was non-stop yesterday, wasn't it.

Nanto, if storm Amy is still doing her worst you're better off staying dry and warm. You knew that roast dinner would come in handy, didn't you. Enjoy it.

Gem, I'm so pleased to hear you're feeling better, and fingers still crossed that OH doesn't get it. Not long now till your little break. It will do you both good, and I bet Poppy and Moses will get spoiled to death by your sitters. Yes, it's nice to be too young for something, but unfortunately time tends to sort the problem out.

Oma, is GS enjoying his last year at Uni? I bet he tucked in to his breakfast this morning. It sounds as though you've done enough housework for one day - you could relax and put your feet up this afternoon and rest your sore arm.

No particular plans for us today. I've got a load of washing ready to peg out, provided it doesn't blow away.

Oma, I agree with Daisy, you have done enough cleaning today, have the rest of the day spoiling yourself. I don’t think I would have felt as calm as your GS having a stranger entering my house and helping themselves to food. DD has been out today but Sil is still poorly I understand from GD. They brought H into my bathroom for a bath yesterday, they usually use the bath in DD and Sil’s bathroom.

WG, was that the parking around the green or the school near to you. So many children taken out of catchment, a friend who lives near to you said the people picking up children throw their rubbish into her hedge. A lot of the cars parked around the green here are parking all day to catch the bus to get their train.

Gemini, getting close to your break, nice to have friends who will look after the cats etc.

Not raining here atm Nanto, I hope it stops for you

Plant, it was my local school! People used to use the pub car park which is now closed off! A friend who lives in one of the roads near the school has been blocked in by people parking over her drive and been verbally abused when she confronted the driver! As you say, the problem is children going to the school who aren’t in the catchment area. That road near your village hall is a nightmare to get through. I hadn’t realised it was people parking there all day though, just wondered where everyone was! Hope your family are soon on the mend.

Very windy here at the moment but still dry. Popping out to PetsatHome… we, I.e. DD andSiL have a new family member! Will update with photos later.

I have two sore arms! One has a beautiful bruise on it where I had the jab, the other just tender. Small price to pay if they keep me healthy through the winter!

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies xx

Its been a day of sun and rain. When its rained,by gum its rained.

I enjoyed my roast dinner ladies.

Not used to stayong in on a saturday, but got loads of jobs done.
Polished the settees with lord shaeraton. (leather polish)
Done a load of ironing, then washed a load of towels.
Everywhere else has been dusted and hoovered.

Nanto, goodness me, you have been busy. Well done. I bet you were ready for that roast dinner.

WeeGranny, I look forward to hearing your news when you're ready. I hope your sore arms feel better tomorrow. It seems that parking is an ever increasing problem around schools and people street parking for the day for work. But there's no excuse for people blocking access to houses (and it's against the law) and then being abusive as well. You can only assume they feel guilty and hurl their abuse at the victim rather than at themselves. Parking is a small problem in our village which is about to get huge. Forestry England, which operate most of the free car parks in the Forest are planning to start charging from next year. We all know people will park on the Forest grass verges, or dump their cars in the village residential areas. It will be horrendous.

Plant, I hope nobody else in the family catches the bug, and that SIL will get over it quickly.

I've had a fairly relaxed day. I did a bit of hoovering up and done some online shipping. I'm just going to see if Eva will go out for a walk while the wind's not too bad.

Good morning at the start of a new week.
Its still blowing a gale here.

Daisy, glad you had relaxed day yesterday. Did Eva go for a walk?

Plant, hope the family are getting over the virus.

Not much for me to do today. Got quite a few jobs done yesterday.

Dinner is braised steak and onions, carrot swede and potato mash and veg.
All from the freezer ready cooked, so all will be done in the microwave.

                            Morning Nanto,Ladies.
                            Nice easy meal Nanto.

                            It's bright but blustery,
I went out to clear the leaves from the two little drains by my front door,
Bit of a wasted time as even before I got in the door leaves were. Swirling around again but it keeps the drains clear of clogging up.

We are going out for lunch with the family and friends today ,
Washing in but no plans for anything else .

                              Good morning everyone.
Sunny with hardly any wind here now.

                              You were industrious Nan2!

Sensible Eva not liking wind walking Daisy.

I hope your arms are less sore today WG. I have never had to have both arms used at the same time! (in fact thinking about it it I couldn't as after breast cancer lymph node removal they don't like to use that arm for anything)

Plant, Oma's DD did ask that man in, whilst wating for someone to come for him, so he didn't just walk in He did just help himself to food though!

                              Enjoy your lunch Oma.

I will make up the spare bed and dust and hoover in there today. I would have done it earlier in the week, but as I have stayed in there the last three nights, it still needs doing.
I feel a lot better just that annoying slight cough I often get at the end of a cold.
OH will collect the catsitting friends from the train station at 6.15ish then we are eating out with them tonight.

Good morning; it is still windy here but not as bad as it was yesterday, I managed the gym on my bike!!

I have just got chicken thighs etc in the slow cooker, for today then what is left I will put in the freeze.

I didn't go out yesterday at all, not my thing! I got some knitting finished and also the calendar for next year, all being well it should be delivered within 10 days. It is a lot of work, but, I do enjoy making them

I should go for my flu jab, I will look at the letter, I think the 16th, I am always debating whether or not to go!

Gem, I hope you all enjoy your few days away.xx

Daisy, I think that parking is the same in the UK as it is here, almost impossible to park anywhere!! Driving home the other day I passed our station car park, the plan was for locals to cycle to the station, forget it, the car park was packed!
