Daisy, the new routine works for my legs and feet, with the arthritis being as it is they need strengthening. Age related. All the young ones that work there , well they will be young compared to me, well, they are all so helpful and knowledgeable. We had the circuit training today, then we use all the muscles, even ones we didn't know existed!

It is so warm here! DS1 and Dil leave early for the UK, first a few days in Brighton then a festival in Milton Keynes on Sunday.

GD2 leaves for Praag with her school on Sunday evening, her friends parents are picking her up etc and I have said I will go on my bike to wave them off, with tears in my eyes!!!

I hope your GS's soon recover Daisy, there are so many here with air way infection like I had.

Oma, how many napkins did you buy to make the bag so heavy?????

I went for the ID card, it will be ready next week, even my fingerprints were needed!

      Lizzie
I buy 6 packs at a time with 100 napkins in each pack,
So they are really heavy and I also had my shoulder bag on as well,
B is convinced I have the kitchen sink in there as well 😁

I hope GD2 has a wonderful time in Praag,
How long is she going for ?
Fingers crossed the weather stays like it is at the moment for your DIL.

      Daisy
Yes I have a heat pack I put in the microwave,
It does give relief I must admit.

Poor boys are both going through it with these infections, it's horrible and doesn't there seem to be a lot around at the moment,
Are you using a mask when you go out ? Your immune system will be compromised too.
It has been so hot today hasn't it, worse down your end I think .
A lazy day when it's this hot is advised ,I'm sure things can wait.

We commented on the same thing about the trees today , we noticed the forestry was out pruning and cutting quite a lot of trees and bushes ,
I'm presuming they are checking for nests in both before they do anything.

Lizzie, I admire your regular trips to the gym. It can't be easy, and you must feel tired afterwards, but if it's helping to keep you as fit as possible then it's worth it. I hope GD2 enjoys her school trip, and I'm sure she would like you to see her off on her adventure. Are your DS1 and DIL flying over to the UK? It's very hot here - forecast 33C for Saturday and up to 27C tomorrow. I hope they enjoy their few days in Brighton. I used to love going there when we lived in Worthing, and there's always lots to do and see.

Oma, you really could leave the kitchen sink at home and save your neck and shoulders!! I'm sure they "ought" to check trees etc before taking a chainsaw to them, but I wonder if they do, and some nests are so well hidden it would be hard to find them. Yes, it has been hot today - up to 30C - and I've done virtually nothing all day, but it's down to about 20C now and I've taken Eva out for a walk while OH watered the front garden. It was really pleasant after so much heat.

I don't wear a mask when I go out. I find they really irritate my skin and nose and I'm taking prophylactic antibiotics, anti-virals, and all sorts of other goodies. But I don't go to crowded places and the Consultant says that's ok.

I've spoken to our GSs' other Gran tonight, and she says GS2 has got bronchitis. GS1 has got a sore throat, a blocked nose and a temperature.

Gem, I don't know how long your train journey would take, but I hope you've arrived safely ready for your next adventure. xx

Good morning, Oma they will be in Praag for a week. DS1 was saying it is a fully planned holiday so they will all enjoy themselves.

Daisy, DS1 travels through the tunnel by car, on to Brighton, he knows the road really well, they have been going a few times a year for years!!! Then on to Milton Keynes for the festival on Sunday. Your poor GS's Daisy, I hope they both soon feel better.

I like the gym, especially early mornings, a friendly group of members etc.

Oma, does anyone wear masks? I never see them here.

The Navo top is in Den Haag next week, the roads will be closed etc etc, I have just read it will cost.........one million euro's a minute!!!!!

DS2 phoned last night, he is going with the eldest stepdaughter to view a house this morning, I hope that she gets it, she has been living with them almost 4 years now, including child and dog! They don't complain and it seems to work, but, it will be better all round if she can get her own place.

I will get myself dressed before the heat wave, if I wait I can't get the support garments on!

Good morning. It's going to be warmer today than yesterday, according to the forecast. Temperatures will be even warmer by the weekend.

I'll be back later, want to get a few bits done before it gets too warm.

              Hi everyone 😊

A very long day on the train. We have just arrived at Kamloops hotel and had a shower( 9pm) Off again at 7 in the morning. Internet today was patchy to none existent travelling through the Rockies. It may be better on tomorrow's trip, who knows?! Another long day arriving in Vancouver some time in the evening, where we stay for 2 nights. So, if not before I will probably catch with you all in Vancouver!

                Morning everyone ,
                Another hot day ahead.

Lizzie don't see many with masks it tends to be people like Daisy who are in treatment and have poor immune systems,

                Gem
I know it was a long journey but worth it , was the rockies spectacular too see ?.

                  Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, Brighton should be lovely this week-end with the hot, sunny weather, and hopefully a cooling breeze off the sea. I hope your son and family have a lovely time. I'm sure your GD will come back home full of her trip to Praag. You must get to know the early morning regulars at the gym, and I'm sure you all encourage each other in various ways. Good luck to your oldest stepdaughter with the house.

Nanto, sunny days, indeed. It's already 24C here.

Gem, did you enjoy the scenery through the Rockies? (Sorry, I'm sure you'll put it on your Holiday thread when you get back.). I've only been to Vancouver once, but I loved it.

Oma, fingers crossed MIL is in a good mood. Does she like the sun? I can't remember the last time I saw anybody wearing a mask round here. Well done on getting to Aldi ahead of the crowds.

It's a busy day for us today. We're having an early lunch and then taking Eva over to DS2's. Then OH has, at last, got his audiology appointment in the town where DS2 lives, and we need to do some shopping. This morning, we want to get a few plants put into the pond. OH has still got some rocks to move around, but it will be too hot to do that today - they can wait.

                      Morning everyone.

Oma and Daisy travelling through the Rockies was amazing with such amazing beautiful scenery, and bears and other wildlife to look out for. The train and food and service are wonderful. Such LONG days though. They can't give you an arrival time. You set off by 7.30 and arrive any time between 6 and 11 pm!! I think it was probably around 8 last night.
I will be telling you all about it in my travel report

I hope you are all well. I will read through everything today so I am updated!

Well that sounds a very long journey Gem
At least you were fed 😁

We went to MILs , did the usual things, then ordered her new house phones after a faff on ,
Either too big or too expensive, everyone we showed her.
She wanted us to go to Argos and ask them to open a few boxes so we could see them and measure them.
We said they won't do that to sealed boxes , she had a sulk about it.
Offered to take her to Currys to look at them but just pulled a face,
We eventually ordered the same as she has just a newer version.

From there we went to our local Polish Deli as they had Gooseberry's in , the import them from Poland .
They advertised them on their FB page yesterday.
Bought two lovely punnets as you just can't get them anywhere else.
£9 for two punnets but enough to make several crumbles, pies, and some to freeze so not too bad really.

It's so hot but I managed to get the ironing done in our bedroom as the sun is at the other side of the house,

My washing went out first thing and was dry before lunch time.

Gem, sounds like you had an amzing train journey yesterday.

                          Very warm again today.

Oma, hubby bought a gooseberry bush a few weeks ago in the Range.
Might get some fruit off it next year, but its only a youngster.
Glad you got phones sorted for MIL.

Did most of my jobs before it got too warm.

DS1 called to pick something up and stayed for dinner.
We had jacket potatoes with various fillings, followed by strawberry cheesecake and cream.

Sorry to be so late posting, I have had a person here mending and replacing sticking locks, been meaning to do it for ages. Too hot to go outside so I have been watching tennis.

Gemini, your trip sounds so exciting, looking forward to reading your report.

Oma, I love gooseberry fool. Haven’t seen any gooseberries but I have most of my shopping delivered now. We have a farm shop near so I will pop in to see if they have some. Your Mil thinks the world revolves around her.

Nanto how nice to spend some quality time with your DS. When are you coming to the UK? Or have I imagined that.

Daisy, busy day for you but not too tiring. I hope it isn’t too early a start for you tomorrow.
