Gem, I was delighted to see how well your GD did yesterday. And GS2's birthday sounds successful and fun as well. It must be a relief to see Poppy back to normal. I hope lunch went as well as possible. I'm not surprised her negativity drains you. I'd be the same.

Plant, it's good to hear your GS4's cycle repair business is going from strength to strength. He must be very pleased, and I'm sure he gets lots of recommendations by word of mouth.

Oma, I hope you've both been careful clearing the bedroom ready for the new carpet. The heavy lifting isn't as easy for us as we get older, is it.

Nanto, I hope you enjoyed your pigs in blankets today. I dread to think what might be hiding at the bottom of our chest freezer - I'll have to have a look sometime. I hope your nephew's bike repair isn't too expensive.

We took Eva to the vets this morning. She's had a problem licking under her tail, so she's back on antibiotics. The vet also took some blood, because she's drinking a lot more than usual, even allowing for the warm weather, and I'm a bit worried about her kidneys etc. I'd rather she was checked out straight away.

OH has cooked up a storm in the kitchen this afternoon - a huge casserole in the slow cooker which will make 4 lots of meals, and some mince which will make 3 or 4 meals for us. I think he'll be glad of a few days off from cooking!

      Good evening.

Daisy, you did the right thing, getting Eva checked out.
OH is becoming quite a good chef, he deserves a couple of days off.
I thought there would only be enough pigs in blankets left for one more meal after today.
There is enough for another three meals.

Nephew fixed his bike. I know you'll be itching to know what the problem was so i'll tell you.
He went on a forum last night and explained his problem.
A chap replied to him,and asked if he had greased the ignition, yes said nephew.
Chap said you need to clean the grease off, because it stops something making a connection. Can't remember what.
Nephew did as he was told, and hey presto, the bike started first time.
There's always someone who knows what you don't.

Daisy I hope Eva is OK. Certainly best to get her checked in case there is a problem she needs treatment for.
I'm impressed with your 'non cooking' OH's meals!

I'm glad your nephew got to the bottom of the problem Nan2!

Plant I'm not sure if my friend has mellowed with age, but she was certainly less moany and negative than usual. She is a bit of a hyprochondriac ( ex GP!) so we had a few details about various ailments. On the whole though a nice afternoon and I was glad she came.

          Daisy
Poor Eva but best to get it sorted quickly,
J is getting really stuck in isn't he 😉
Lots of lovely meals ready in the freezer for the days he's busy and can just defrost when needed.
I forgot to ask what did DIL cook yesterday?

          Nanto
Your right there is always someone who knows how to solve the problem.
Saved him money to I imagine,

Bedroom furniture moved apart from the bed, we will move that in the morning as SIL not coming till afternoon.
He said he will take the carpet and old underlay up and take it away too.

B made a beef casserole tonight using Rib eye steak cut up with red wine , I'm not a lover of red meat or beef casserole but it was quite nice.
I didn't eat a lot he did dumplings with it and lovely Cavolo Nero cabbage so I ate one of the dumplings all the cabbage and a little of the meat but couldn't manage anymore .
His Mother will like it so she has two with veg to go in the freezer .

          Gem

Gem, I'm glad your friend was less negative. It must have made for a happier get together.

Nanto, it always amazes me that some people are able to sort out the most obscure problems with cars, bikes and technical stuff. I don't know what we'd do without them, and it was good your nephew's bike was fixed without him spending a fortune on it.

Oma, this time tomorrow your new bedroom carpet will be in and your bedroom will be back to normal. Your SIL is very good taking the old carpet and underlay away (although I'm sure it's not really old).

A rib eye casserole in red wine sounds very good to me, and I hope your MIL is pleased with her share.

I don't think OH will ever be an enthusiastic cook, but just being able to prepare a few basic dishes will be good. He's very good at following instructions!

                Good morning.

Chilly again, but I think it will be another sunny day.

Gem,glad the visit from your friend wasn't as bad as you anticipated.

No plans for me, just a bit of tidying up to do.
Hubby out for a couple of hours.

Beef stew and Yorkshire puddings for dinner.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Nan2, when I think about it the time this friend stayed with us for a few days was the worst! Hour after hour of negativity got us both down. A visit for a few hours is better.

GS2 day today. He is coming with me to the library this morning. Not sure what our plans are for the rest of the day. He's had a busy few days so I suspect he may just want to spend the afternoon here.

                    Morning ladies

                    Nanto
It's bright but cold here also

Are the school closed for Easter?
Not having little ones now I don't keep up with them.
A quiet day will do him good after all his excitement 😄

Well we cleared the bedroom yesterday , this morning we took the bedroom door off and moved the mattress,
Came downstairs looked at the calendar and SIL not coming till tomorrow 🥴
My fault I said Tuesday, B not happy. He said he will put the mattress back on the bed tonight but we sleeping with just the duvet he's not making it up again 🤣

He has results from his bloods at 9.30 but they are online anyway so he's already read them.
His sugar is up a bit .
I then want to go to B&M and Lidl.
                    Apart from that nothing planned.

I forgot to say yesterday when we were at the tip a oldish couple in front of me were throwing a child's sit on Tonka truck large digger in the tip.
It looked brand new , if I had little ones I would have asked for it.
I know Finn has one so couldn't give it to them.

Wouldn't you think they would have a drop off point for good quality toys.

B said it's probably health and safety but they could have gave it to charity.
                    What a waste ,

Oma, yes, GS broke up on Friday for two weeks. Quite early this year as Easter isn't until the end of the holidays.
                      Whoops re the mattress!!
A shame about the toy. Even if I didn't take to to a charity shop I would have put it at the front with Free sign and someone would have taken it.

                          Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, we had a frost overnight, but it's pleasantly warm now. Enjoy your pottering day.

Gem, I bet GS2 will be quite tired from his exciting birthday celebrations. What a lovely time he's had.

Oma, oh dear! poor B, and poor you. I bet you were cross with yourself, but these things happen. I hope B's sugar levels are under control. What a shame about that Tonka truck. We've got an amazing WhatsApp group in the village. You can put up anything you don't want and are happy to give away (no money involved), and you can also ask to borrow something for a short time. There's everything from dining room chairs, to craft supplies, to various implements and tools. It saves a whole load of things going to landfill and certainly helps with our village recycling aims. Once someone's said they want an item they DM the owner and it's taken off the group.

Plant, a busy day for you, but sound fun. Are you making an Easter bonnet?

We had an early start - I had a CT scan at the local hospital. We got there early because we'd forgotten the schools were on holiday and there was no traffic on the road. I went in early and was out again before my appointment time. So we've sat and had a coffee and are now going to do a bit of gardening. Nothing too heavy! But it's lovely out there this morning.

Daisy it is surprising what a difference school holidays makes to morning traffic. Good to be out of the hospital before your appointment time!

I hope you have a good day Plant, and if you don't post we know you have been busy enjoying yourself

Library was moderately busy. GS2 and I then went to local small Sainsbury's He wasn't keen until I pointed that the main reason for going (white bread and sausages) were for him! He also got a Pokémon magazine so a beneficial short shopping trip for him!

OH is on the golf course. Lovely fine day to be out there.

GS is a lucky boy, those magazines are not cheap are they.

B's sugar was slightly elevated but not a lot so wait till next bloods see how it goes,
From the Drs we went to B&M for a few bits , well of course it ended in me spending £62 I got some nice pots for the garden though and two extensions but when I got home one would do so one will go back.

We had a early lunch then went to Dalton park to the Lindt shop.
We bought GS and Lucie a big bunny each and will give them money to go with it for Easter.
I popped into Roman while I was there to look at the dresses but I would need to be 6 ft tall for any to fit .

It was quite pleasant in the sun.

The pharmacist has just delivered my EpiPen's so I have put the old ones in a jiffy bag and they can go to be disposed of the next time our meds are delivered.

Oma,I had offered to buy GS lunch at Costa ( which he loves) He chose to have lunch here, so when he asked about the magazine I considered it cost a lot less than lunch for two in Costa

I can only get the midi dresses from Roman, which come out long for me and you
