Shingles is horrible,
B got it in his spine when he was having chemo it spread from his groin to his toes ,
He was left with nerve damage in his left leg,
It was so bad due to the chemo they had to do a biopsy to make sure it was shingles as it didn't look like it.
I've put a pic on of it , so bad
If you don't feel the cream is working go to the Drs don't suffer.
Plant
It would be nice to see a photo of all your family,
I have just had a text from GS they got there safely and are just relaxing tonight.
Daisy
They seem to get an awful lot of holidays at Uni these days.
Poor J he must be fed up.
Gem
We have had the same quite windy but no rain,
Storm spent a lot of time indoors today he doesn't like the wind.
Nanto
Did you get your quiet day?
I have just rang my sister she has a stiff neck but I'm not surprised it must have been like whiplash hitting the bath with such force.

Oma, i can remember you showing us that photo before. B's leg was really bad.
Glad you sister wasn't hurt more than she was.
Lizzie, hope you feel better soon.
Didn't have a lazy day. I changed the bedding and washed what i took off.
Cleaned all upstairs.
It was very windy earlier, but i think its eased off now. Not had much rain though.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Lizzie, I do hope the shingles responds to the cream you're using. I remember my mother having it - the rash was round one side of her chest, but it was so painful I called the doctor out in the middle of the night. I thought she was having a heart attack. I do hope it doesn't go into your hair as well.
Plant, it can't be easy getting all your family together, so I hope someone can take photos of all of you together.
Nanto, what lovely cheerful flowers. Roll on summer evenings when we can sit out in the garden. Trust you to end up being busy, still it's a job less for another day.
Oma, what a relief GS & Co got to Penrith safely. It was on the evening news. I think the reporter was standing by the side of the closed A66. Poor Storm. Eva's not keen on the wind either.
What do you all feed a poorly OH with no appetite, but wants "something"? I made him scrambled eggs with cherry tomatoes on the side for lunch. Then I did salmon steaks for dinner with some pasta and a home-made tomato sauce. He doesn't want anything heavy or starchy or chewy. I'm already wondering about tomorrow's meals now! Soup is "out" it seems, and that is my first port of call for anything!!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

A mug of bovril and a piece of toast here Daisy, or chicken noodle soup, but I’m guessing OH needs something more substantial. Fish in a white sauce? Jacket potato perhaps. Rice pud even. I hope he feels better very soon.
Loving the glasses Gem. Really trendy!
Lizzie, I hope you get some relief quickly. Not a good place to have shingles.
Enjoy your family lunch Plant, it’s good to have everyone together.
Nanto2, Queen of air fryer cake. I ordered some foil cake tins from Amazon, when they came today they were about the right size for an eclair! I shall hunt some down tomorrow as you have fired my enthusiasm!
Your poor sister Oma. The fall obviously shook her up. I hope she heals soon.
I have binge watched ‘Patience’ these last two days. If you haven’t seen it give it a go. Channel 4.

Good morning, thank you ladies, Oma, mine is nothing like that , luckily! GD, the first time I had shingles was above my eye, very dangerous at the time.
Daisy, your poor DH, I do hope that he is soon feeling better and eating well again.xxx
DS1 arrived home early yesterday evening, no problems on the roads at all, not even near Antwerp!!! Always so much traffic there.

Good morning Lizzie, hope the shingles clear up soon.
Oma,glad the travellers arrived safely.
Still breezy here, but not as bad as yesterday.
Daisy, hope OH feels better soon.
We are going to the farm shop and gargen centre today. We will eat out, so that is our day sorted.
I need some birthday cards for next month.
We can usually get some very nice ones there. Makes a change from the run of the mill ones in town.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good Saturday morning everyone.
Nanto, enjoy your day out, and not having to cook. Good luck with the cards. I love finding the right card for the right person - at least I hope it's the right one. Some people are easier than others. I have a few friends who love to have a verse in their cards and they are getting harder to find, but our local card shop usually has just the right thing.
Grauntie - thank you, you've saved the day! I'm going to make a rice pudding, and think I'll do what we call super jackets for lunch - cook the jacket potato then scoop out the inside, mix that with grated cheese and pile it back into the skin, brown under the grill. It's quite light, tasty and easy to eat. I've got some nice haddock steaks in the freezer and I'll do those in a parsley or white sauce for tonight. It's always difficult to get my OH to drink enough water when he's not well so I've got some hydrating fruit drinks from the milkman this morning so I hope they will help as well.
Lizzie, I assumed that you only got shingles once, but obviously that's wrong. I do hope you're better soon.

Oma, sorry, I wasn't ignoring you - I typed my post half an hour ago but then got distracted and didn't hit Post!
It will take a bit of time for your mouth to heal up and that tooth to feel comfortable, but better to take it easy. OH is still feeling poorly, so he's having a lie in this morning.

Good morning everyone.
The sun is shining here in Yorkshire!
Lizzie I hope the shingles rash isn't too sore today. It lies dormant doesn't it and can recur at any time. My OH has only had it once, our friend G has had it a few times.
Nan2, garden centre shops are often good for cards.
Grauntie, we are enjoying Patience . It's set in York (and partly filmed here)
Daisy the menu sounds good, I hope your OH enjoys it and is soon on the mend.
Oma, just take care with your mouth rest helps healing you know so take it easy!
This afternoon we are going over to DD2's. She and SIL are going out for the afternoon and part of the evening, so we will look after GS2 and be there for GD.
OH is on the mend, definitely looks and feels more human today!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oma, your poor sore mouth. I would try to put the tooth in daily if only for a very short time, say 15mins.
Lizzie, no experience of shingles here but I gather it can be very painful.
Daisy, your poor OH but he has a good nurse. I understand this virus has affected a lot of people around here.
It is Sil’s birthday today but they are having a family birthday lunch tomorrow, it is lovely that their four children and their OH’s will be here plus their four GC. DD, bless her, is doing lunch for them all. As requested I will try and get a pic. Lovely sunshine today but I am not going anywhere. GD1 has taken H on the bus to local town to buy her some shoes, she will love the bus.
Nanto, enjoy your lunch out.
Grauntie, good luck with your cake making in the Air FryerWhat is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
