WG, so pleased to hear from you. What a shame your DD is suffering a virus so she can’t visit you and see her brother.

Oma, I hope all is well with B’s results.

Gemini, pleased your aqua class and coffee with friends was enjoyable.

Daisy, you will be smart next year when you get your chairs out.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Me again! I've just done an online shopping order, so thought I'd update you all!

I saw my consultant on Monday and he is pleased with how the wound is healing and how I'm walking, albeit with the aid of two crutches! He took the original dressing off and I though there were clips to come out, but he only snipped two stitches at either end! I have no idea what is holding the wound together and I didn't want to ask! He then put a non waterproof dressing on to help dry the wound and informed me that I can't have a shower for 1-2 weeks! Just as I'd got used to sitting on my shower stool! Thank goodness for those Freshwipes you advised Gem! He reckons I might be walking without crutches in the next 4 weeks and I certainly won't need them when I next see him in6-8 weeks. Keep up with the physio, painkillers, walking etc. So I came out a fairly happy bunny.

I'm certainly finding things a lot easier and my DS has been a great help in all sorts of ways. From taking the pressure socks off, putting lotion on my legs and putting them back on! Cooking meals, organising the laundry etc. Sadly he's leaving at the weekend as he's moving house and he needs to be at work. I shall miss him! Thankfully they're off completely now! I'm sure I'll have bad days to come, but I feel a lot better in myself and am managing to do more than I thought I would. It's remembering not to bend down and cross my legs and things like that i find I do without thinking! Thank goodness for grabbers and sock putter onners!

Hope all is well with you ladies and your families. Thnaks for all your good wishes. Will check in again in a few days. Keep warm xx
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Good news from the consultant WG.
Hope DD is better soon. Such a shame she can't visit you or see her brother.

Oma, hope its good results for B.

Daisy, i have never made sausage casserole. Might have to give it a go.

Gem, glad you enjoyed aqua and coffee with friends.

Its been very cold here today, and an even colder night.

WeeGranny, thank you for the update. To me it sounds as though you are being very brave and positive, which will certainly help your recovery. Thank goodness your son is with you - help plus time spent together which you must both be enjoying. It would be lovely if your DD recovers in time to see him before Sunday. There really are some nasty bugs around at the moment. Those wipes Gem recommended sound an absolute Godsend. I can't imagine 1-2 weeks without my morning splash about in the shower. I hope your DS's house move goes smoothly. Is he moving far from his current home?

Gem, I hope you're not aching too much after your massage. Are you going to have an early night tonight. Stay warm and snug and pamper yourself.

Plant, although you didn't say, you sound a bit better - I do hope that's the case. How did the Christmas cake making go? I bet it smelled wonderful. Yes, the chairs will look nice, I think, and they are actually quite comfortable. We often sit down that end of the garden in summer evenings with a glass of wine, just relaxing and catching up. A few years ago OH made a rustic oak coffee table which serves a useful purpose. No, not for the wine - Eva regards it as 'her' spot to stretch out and get maximum fuss from us.

Oma, when will B get his blood test results? I bet Storm is loving this cold weather.

Dog training went well this afternoon. There was a lovely Beagle "visiting" from one of the other classes so all the dogs were a bit wary at first. Once they settled down they had their usual enthusiasm. Eva managed to knock a liver treat down behind a radiator grill. It was difficult to get it out and I'm sure the next class will wonder why they can smell liver but not find it!

            That sounds positive news,
MIL can walk just with a walking stick now but uses her walker to get around the house just for safety.
Hopefully you go from strength to strength now.
            You will miss your DS

            Daisy
Be a week or so for results I think.
Just as well you managed to get the liver treat out can you imagine the smell 🀣🀣

WG, I think you are making brilliant progress, and I'm glad the wipes are useful! I was so glad of them after my knee op.

Daisy I have been in so much pain with my shoulders for over a week, that any after massage pain doesn't seem too bad! She really got those knots out . I got into my PJs early tonight, and am heading for bed with my Kindle and a couple of ibuprofen now!

Eww about the liver treat behind the radiator.

Good morning all,. it was very cold and wet here yesterday, heavy hail showers most of the day.

WG, you seem to be doing very well after the op.

Daisy, I can just imagine a hall full of dogs hunting the liver treat!!

Gem, my neighbour used to do messages, she can see if my shoulder is playing up, she just puts (presses) her thumb on the spot and the pain goes away.

I went to do coffee last night, the lighting in the flat wasn't working, usually if the door lighting isn't working the emergence lighting in the hall etc does work, not this time, the men were busy with the new lift yesterday and must have damaged something, it was so dark, even the lighting outside the block wasn't working, the emergency lift still works, luckily or the stairs would have been very dark! I see the ventilation isn't working either, it will be a busy day for the electricians.

The office where I do coffee, the staff are all volunteers to help people with their finances, forms etc etc, one of the men is always there, others once a fortnight, the man is very good and helps the others when they need help, he has been doing it a few years, he also does the "house administration" for people that can't get to the office. He has been saying a while now that he isn't pleased with the way it is going, there is more help for the immigrants than anyone knows, not only the immigrants can be nasty, he had a lady last week,, to be quite honest, I would have thrown her out!! Apparently he did that just after I left. We all got a mail yesterday saying that he was stopping, it didn't surprise me really, more upset me, with him being there each time I can get on really well with him, he will be there another fortnight, he will be missed in all ways as he is an organiser of the volunteers. He was saying last night that it is voluntary work, he has enjoyed it for years but with the way things are going at the moment he has had enough.

                  Good morning.
                  Feels very cold again..

Lizzie, I don't blame the man for giving up with the volunteering.
Don't get me started about immigrants.

I made 5 crumbles yesterday. Managed to get them in them in the freezer.I had some bags of supermarket frozen fruits, so used them up.

Hubby out with his pal for a couple of hours. They usually meet on a Friday, but pal can't make it tomorrow.

We are going for a pub meal today.
It's 10 minutes away, in the opposite direction to where we usually go.
We have been before, but not since it's been refurbished.

                    Good morning ladies.

Enjoy the pub lunch Nan2. We have a free weekend coming up so may manage one of those over the next few days!

Lizzie, you cant expect volunteers to put up with bad treatment, a shame though as the man was obviously very useful.

Little GS3 today. He's been a bit off it this week with a cold/virus, so I think we will just stay inside today.
                    Usual Thursday golf for OH.

I hope Plant is improving, likewise Oma's back . Keep warm!

You did well with the crumbles , we have a load of blackberries and apples in the freezer we use for just that,
                      Enjoy your lunch out.

We have to take MIL shopping today , oh the joys🫀
she wants to go to the cafe for lunch first so that's a few hours out of our day counted for.

I didn't sleep well couldn't get comfortable my hip and side still painful I think I will have to try get appointment at the drs again.
                      Have a good day ladies.

Just popping in, I am feeling rough again, the cold virus seems to have hit me again just as I was feeling a bit better, needless to say I am feeling fed up. Take care everyone.

                          Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, it's shocking how rude people can be towards those who are trying to help them, and even more so when the helper is also a volunteer. That man will be badly missed. The organisation sounds similar to our Citizens' Advice Bureau. Scary when all the lights fail and other electrical things as well. Let's hope the problem's fixed today.

Plant, I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling poorly again. It sounds as though your immune system is low and everything is hitting you hard. Do you take any extra supplements - vitamins etc? Some years ago I went through a spell like that and several GRU Grannies suggested Zinc tablets. I've taken them ever since, and I do think they help. Stay warm and take care. xxx

Nanto, what lovely, cheerful flowers. Enjoy your pub lunch. I wonder what the refurbishments will be like. Is it a 10 minute walk or drive?

Gem, how lovely to have a free week-end to look forward to. I hope little GS3 is ok. Poor lamb - you feel so sorry for them when they aren't well. I bet he'll still enjoy being with Grandma though. How are you aches and pains this morning? Take care picking E up.

Oma, I hope lunch and shopping with MIL goes smoothly. I know you never know what to expect, but fingers crossed for an easy day. That pain keeps on troubling you, doesn't it. Perhaps it is time to see the doc again. You must be feeling worn out from that and lack of sleep.

So here we are, on the sunny south coast, and it's snowing in November!!! It's sticking at the moment, but I think it will soon melt once it stops. The ground is still relatively warm. But it was wintery enough for me to make porridge for breakfast this morning. I might even make mince pies this afternoon! Well, gardening is off the agenda today.

Eva is very unimpressed with the snow. She came in from the garden covered in it and instead of shaking herself she dived between my legs to dry herself off on my jeans. Then she got all silly and puppy-ish and was tossing her bone about on the kitchen floor.

I'm sure the residual smell from Eva's liver treat would still be there for the dogs in the later class. Scent-work is every dogs' favourite game and they all sniff round the hiding places even when they are doing something more serious like heel work!

It's very cold here and a light frost this morning,
Hopefully your right and the snow doesn't stay,
Eva sound like she was very playful, isn't it nice to see them like that,
Storm loves the cold and snow it's his type of weather.

Well we took MIL for lunch and she really enjoyed it,
We then took her shopping ,
She wanted streaky bacon, as we were passing the end of the isle she said "what's in them red boxes"
I said it's back bacon and sausages, are you sure she says,
Yes look as I hold up a pack off bacon and sausages,

                            Are you sure it's sausage?

Well it says 6 pork sausages and they look like pork sausages 🫀

Gets her bacon then she insisted we took her back so she could check herself as she didn't believe me 😱
Why would I lie about sausages , it's not like she even wanted any ,

Got her home , B went up to make her bed and her alarm necklace was on the bedside cabinet ,
No use there if you fall again woman 🫀
