Our library morning went well. GS2 has some optional helf term homework which is to do something helpful. He sharpened colouring pencils at the library, and tried to find a 'red train ' book a toddler was asking for, so that could be his homework. The librarian paid for the lemon drizzle cake I was about to buy him, as a thank you
He has loved playing with the kittens who are now snoozing on the sofa next to him while he has some screen time.

Awww bless GS2 for helping to find the book.
Lemon drizzle cake was a lovely thank you.

I got the grass cut while hubby was doing some tidying up.
Straight in the shower for me after gardening.
When i came down, there was tea and cake ready. Sun was shining,so we sat in the garden with it.
The weather has been very spring like. Dried all the washing.

        Went the day well.

GS1 has had his surgery and is apparently quite giddy after the anesthestics

I'm glad you remembered the laptop Oma!

Gem, your GS2 certainly earned his lemon drizzle cake. What a lovely idea for homework - optional or not. Pleased to hear GS1's op went ahead, and I'm sure he will be feeling less dizzy after a good night's sleep. If the grommets improve his hearing a lot it will take him time to adjust to that as well.

Oma, glad your laptop came to the rescue! Did your new lead arrive? At one stage I got in a mess with what lead was for what with charging leads for Mac devices, plus my Kindle plus other bits and pieces, and leads for charging my keyboard, mouse, screen etc, so I now label them. I just write on them with a Sharpie and it saves a lot of trial and error and frustration.

Nanto, what a lovely day you had. We had very little sunshine and the washing certainly wouldn't have dried outside. It's not cold, just very cloudy and dull.

Good morning. I think we have a good weather forecast again.

Daisy, a good idea to label the cables.
We store ours in empty loo roll tubes, and write on the tube what its for.

Just a normal day of housework for me.
                      The garden was done yesterday.

Dinner is corned beef and onion pie, topped with mash. Similar to a cottage/shepherd's pie.
I took it out of the freezer yesterday.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Another fine day forecast here, we will get some washing outside.

Labelled loo rolls to store cables is such a good idea Nan2.

GS1 was fine after his op. He phoned me twice! From the car on the journey home, then later from home. He told me I was right, that he was talking about Christmas to the nurse and anaesthetist, and then he was waking in the recovery room! He had been very reassured in the run up to the op by myself and DD3 telling him about our anaesthetic experiences. I think he felt proud of himself, and hopefully now he will be hearing a lot better.

Aqua this morning. This afternoon 2 friends are coming to visit the kittens

                          Morning everyone

                          Gem
Pleased his op went well, he sounds very pleased with himself and so he should be 😁👏👏👏

                          Nanto
We use loo roll holders for cables too ,
I seen the hack on line a few years ago,
For small cables that are too small for the holders I use Zip lock bags .

I have appointment with the nurse at 10,30 results of my bloods ,
Thats going to be a challenge getting in and out of the car,
I slept in my chair again last night , I can’t lie down and turning over is just too painful.

Hope everyone is ok this morning ,
Its not a bad day so far .

                            Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, corned beef is a really useful staple, isn't it. You can always do a quick meal with it - although your pie sounds much better than what I usually do!

Oma, your back sounds really painful still. Take care, and good luck with the bloods results.

Gem, well done to your GS1. He was very brave and obviously pleased that the anaesthetic was just as you and DD3 said it would be. He's now a member of an exclusive little family group. I do hope his hearing is better. Does he have a follow up appointment? Your kittenss are becoming celebrities. They will want their own social media profile soon. xx

Storing cables in loo rolls is a good idea. I'm less organised, but they tend to be cables I use all the time and we leave phone, Kindle and lap top cables plugged in all the time. (Switched off!)

It's a usual sort of Wednesday for us. OH has gone to play cars with his pals, and Eva and I have got dog training this afternoon. The road works in the next village are still a nightmare and can take 40 minutes to get through, which means I need to leave home extra early just in case. I've got quite a few jobs to get done this morning as well. Both GDs are coming for the day tomorrow, and DIL1 is coming down to collect some photos for her father's funeral, so she'll stay for lunch. It will be lovely to see her and the girls will be pleased.

Had a lovely day yesterday with most of my GC and H. FaceTime with family in Normandy. My only problem is I have cake coming out of my ears as the saying goes. The present from my DD and Sil arrived, it was a M&S shopping bag full of different cakes, most of them will keep thankfully. Had a visit from GS4 and his partner and she had made me a cake. I also had a lot of flowers. I am going down to M&S to buy more cakes to share with my Games friends I shall be seeing this afternoon.

Oma, you are having a bad time with your painful back, not to be able to sleep in your bed. I do hope your bloods are okay.

Oma, pleased to hear GS’s op went okay and he was feeling pleased with himself. Love the pics of those kittens.

Nanto, I have never had a corned beef pie. I haven’s had corned beef for ages.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

All that talk about corned beef has made me decide to do a corned beef hash for my dinner tonight! Thanks ladies !

Just had a call from the hospital where I'm having my hip replacement.......40 minutes! And I've still got to go and in have a face-to-face with them tomorrow!

I discovered something interesting yesterday about strong painkillers. My pain has been getting worse to the extent that I was in tears and couldn't move. I was advised to stop taking the meds because they contained caffeine. So I stopped them and also stopped drinking coffee. DD googled it and it seems caffeine can contribute to back and joint pain. The pain has certainly changed since I stopped, still very sore, but much more bearable. So it's decaf tea for me now and normal strength painkillers.

Sun is breaking through so I might attempt a walk to the post box before I sort out a pile of laundry!

It's a bitter sweet day for a friend of mine. She had ovarian cancer, which unfortunately spread throughout her body and she's had several stays in hospital over the past couple of months. She and her partner have just done up a house and were planning to get married. She had lots of plans about how she would have a building in the garden where we could meet and she was planning to run craft sessions. She was always upbeat even when in pain. Sadly, they've had to bring their wedding forward to today. I can't help but think that she'll never see her plans work out. When things like that happen, it puts all your own problems in perspective doesn't it ?

Hope you managed to get in the car Oma! And hopefully you'll manage a nanny nap this afternoon.

Have a good day ladies whatever you're up to! x
