I also hope Plant wasn't chopped up. Not our Plant anyway
I had a very nice day. Babies of 17 months who can run are exhausting, so the 2 hour late morning nap was welcome. Lovely to spend all day with GD before she goes back to school next week. This afternoon we took both children to the park then to the big pond (there are 2) to feed to ducks and geese. I was glad to have OH there today, as GD thinks he is big boy I think and tries to climb on equipment far too big for him! Lots of running after him, and his big sister being left to her own devices. With 2 of us we can share it out!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Qwerty, that will be really nice. GC should be enjoyed and as we get older especially with twins, it must be more hard work than enjoyment, having them such a lot.. My DDs both said they wanted me to have the children for one day a week (aside from occasional extras) so I would look forward to it, and I agree
We are going to a 45th anniversary party in October Qwerty, it must have been a good year for marriage“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Ladies, YEO is now in a separate, easy to find section just as Chatbox is. I have changed the settings so you can all see it and post. It of course remains invisible to anyone else coming onto the forum.
When you have a moment could you each check that you can see and get onto YEO?
Thank you“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

No thank you for careing, I didn't get chopped up. There was so much to chop off, I will discuss with SIL what to do with the two piles, GS worked very hard as I did too so we went to the local for a drink.
Pleased to hear your child minding is going to be reduced Qwerty, you will have more time to spend together. planned holiday sounds good.
I will check Yeo Gemini. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good morning, Nanto and everyone.
Plant - so glad you survived the chopping - you both deserved that trip to the pub afterwards.
Qwerty - you've done more than your fair share of childcare, especially with the twins and you deserve more free time. This summer I've felt that GD2 is reaching an age when looking after her is easier for me. I've never found babies and toddlers easy, even though they are gorgeous, but at 3 ½ she's great company and always has something interesting to say!! The Canaries will be a lovely way to celebrate your 45th anniversary.
Gem - I'm sure you always do look forward to having your GCs.
I'm on a mission today to get ready for our holiday so I don't have to rush round too much in the morning. There's a load of washing in, I've cleaned out the fridge and OH is going to do a bit of shopping - we plan to eat out most of the time so don't need much."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Good morning everyone.
Thanks for checking YEO Nan2, I think it will work for us all.
Daisy, good plan to get ahead so that the start of your holiday is less rushed and busy!
Morning mists here, but I can see a hazy sun trying to peep though. DD2 only lives 25 minutes away and it's lovely and sunny there already!
I need to pack this morning, but as it is only for one night it won't take long. There is wi fi at Premier Inns, as we know, so you will hardly notice that I am gone“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning ladies the sun is out ,
Gem yes I can access YEO tooby the way I'm still having to approve my posts , not a problem just a click of a button but thought I would tell you . its not on all threads just the odd one or two .
Well Cupboard is back up with several new brackets see how long this one lasts , had to fill huge holes last night as B had put metal plasterboard fixings in and they had ripped the wall out when it came down so much for using the right fittings
Have Storm for a few hours after lunch DD has stuff to do with GS1 but apart from that a easy day , ive done what needs doing and ironing ,
Daisy did you get the dog food delivery ? that's a job and a half isn't it .
Plant will your SIL take your garden waste to the tip for you ? GS sounds like hes worked hard .
Gem never mind us enjoy the night away xxx
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I haven't discussed the heaps of rose branches with SIL yet, he doesn't have the right vehicle to move it to the tip, we have only just dealt with the vine that GS cut down for me. I think he will pile it in the corner of the garden until the bins are empty, I think he should have a bonfire, we shall see. GS has been an absolute star, he was pleased with the money which he was reluctant to take. Only two weeks before he is off to Birmingham University he can't wait. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
