    Good morning everyone.

Nan2, my mum made meat and potato pies when I was a child, they were one of my favourite meals!

Baby T today. I won't be collecting GD from school however, as she is going to a party. We may take him for a walk this afternoon, as we don't hav the long school run to do.

Hope everyone is well, or getting there!

      Good morning everyone.

Mimi - I hope you got some sleep last night. It's horrible when you lie awake mulling over things that are outside your control.

Nanto - that meat and potato pie sounds yummy. My DS2 makes various versions of meat and potato pie - but preparing ahead like you do makes it much less of a 'job' I think. If I can ever get myself organised I'll have to have a go. I cooked fillet steak, chips, corn on the cob and salad on Monday for OH's birthday (he didn't want to go out) and I was quite pleased with the result. DS had given me strict instructions on how to cook the steak (I usually spoil it!). It made me wonder when did our roles reverse. He used to ring me up to ask how to cook things, and now I ring him!!

Dog training this afternoon - we missed last week with being away, so I hope we haven't forgotten everything.

Glad you're feeling a lot better Oma. It's such a relief as when you feel really ill you don't think you'll ever get better.
Gem,I'm so sorry your Mum is poorly. I hope she gets well soon.

We made good use of our bus passes today with a trip to Carmarthen. We had a half hour trip into town and then an hour and three quarters bus ride to Carmarthen. That sounds like a long journey but we enjoyed looking at the lovely scenery in the Autumn sunshine. When we arrived we had a look round what remains of the 12th Century castle and the part of it that was once a Victorian prison. Then we found a sunny seat to eat our picnic lunch. After that we explored the shops and later had coffee and cake in a cafe before catching the bus home.We both enjoyed the day as it made a nice change from our usual routine and didn't cost much.

Nanto - we're all wondering if there was any meat and potato pie left. If so, I'm on my way round.

Clover - what a lovely day. It's quite relaxing watching the scenery go by and good to get out and about, stress free.

Oma - I hope your BP will be down a bit when you have your next check in 2 weeks. I think your BP can rise when you're not well and hopefully you will have got over your current lurgy by then. xx thanks for asking about dog training. I'll put an update on Pets - New Member of the Family.

                      Good morning everyone.

Happy Birthday to your sister Oma!
Clover that does sound a lovely day for you both.

OH at another appointment. This time as the audiology department, to be fitted with her hearing aids! My mum only wore hers once but OH is more sensible. If she doesn't feel they are right she will try private ones. My auntie has some, and says she wouldn't be able to hear at all without them.
Out for coffee with my Danish friend this morning. We met 3 years ago when we took her DD and my GD to weekly drama classes at the theatre, and have stayed friends, as have the children

Off to Mums later. She was sounding fine on the phone yesterday. I hope she hasn't lost too much weight, she is very underweight to start with.

Good morning from me as well. We are blessed with watery sunshine today - I hope it stays dry as I finally have a day with nothing planned and want to get the rest of the daffs planted. It will soon be time to get the tulips in as well!

Gem - I do hope your Mum is ok and has got her appetite back. Gem - enjoy your coffee with your friend.

Oma - happy birthday to your sister. Will you be seeing her after the hospital?

Very dull here, I need to go out to get some block salt for the softener and some stamps, need to do a bit of housework first, I can only do a bit at a time as it makes my wrist hurt.

We've had a lovely sunny day with a bit of breeze. Great drying day.!
This morning I ironed 20 Tee shirts which are from the cruise and after! Only 8 pairs of trousers (mine and OHs) and 3 skirts (mine )and various odds and ends to go. Trouble is today's batch is joining the end of the queue.

Sunny but breezy here, clouded over a bit now but washing dried. Well a busy week thought this retirement lark was going to be a slower pace-fat chance. Have caught up with lots of back logged cleaning jobs, now got the 2 minxes until 6pm. Draw breath for 5 minutes then off to SW.
