Good morning ladies. It's nice and sunny here today - hurrah!!!!
No special plans for us today. OH and GS1 have gone off to Lymington to collect an old tv for GS1 to 'deconstruct'. It's keeping him very busy, but it's nice to see him engrossed in something he's interested in. I stooped to bribery to get him in the shower this morning - no shower, no tv! It worked.
I'm hoping to spend a bit of time in the garden - sadly neglected at the moment - and still have a bag full of runner beans to get in the freezer.
Plant - enjoy your aqua class. I'm not great on early starts either. I don't know how Nanto does it - and all the other larks on here.
Has anybody heard from Qwerty? I hope she's enjoying herself too much to think about us, but was just wondering .....
Gem - have a lovely day today.

Good morning everyone.
Daisy, bribery is the only way sometimes! Not heard from Qwerty, but I don't expect to. Her last message here said something along the lines of seeing us at the end of August after her hols. I hope she is having a lovely time
Plant, I hope you enjoyed aqua. I must start a class.
We have been so lucky with the weather. Lots of rain was predicted for our week, but so far we have seen one very brief shower yesterday. It may have rained at nights, but that's fine!
Flash floods in Scarborough yesterday, it looked very dramatic!!
We spent part of yesterday in Alnwick. We bought swan food at a pet shop, and later came to the lake where we are staying and fed the swans. Mum, Dad and 4 very big babies. Dad hissed at us a few times to keep us in our places, but then all 6 tucked in!
I think we are going to Walkworth today. We are running out of time to do everything we want! We wanted to visit Cragside again, but have decided to leave that until the next trip.

How nice for you all to entertain the Omas for lunch Gemini
Daisy your GS is having a whale of a time staying with you, what does he do when he deconstructs electrical items?
GS4 rang this morning to tell me he has the GCSE grades he needs to go to college to study an engineering course, we are thrilled for him, that means both of my DS's and DIL's boys on the right track. I am so pleased for them Picking youngest GD from the station soon, it is her 22nd birthday on Sat. She is going to book the family into a Yurt for brunch on Sat, sounds fun. This is the last evening I will be cooking for the girls, mum and dad back from holiday this evening so I am off duty. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Well done to your GS, Plant, a great start for him.
Enjoy your lunch with the Omas Gem.
Had a nice day today, went to the reindeer park this morning and met quite a few lovely boys. They are really gentle close up and loved being fed with lichen and having their necks scratched. Then off to the Cairngorms after lunch, up the funicular to the top and enjoyed beautiful views for miles. Luckily the weather has been great and today was so clear and sunny. We were just leaving however, when the heavens opened so we certainly picked the right time to visit.
Start for home tomorrow, heading to Gretna again for our overnight stop and hope to visit the blacksmiths etc this time."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

It sounds as though you are having a lovely time Enfys. I love reindeer!
Plant good news about your GS, well done to him!
We went to Warkworth today. Went to the castle, had a nice pub lunch, then browsed a couple of very nice craft/gift type shops. I resisted lots of lovely things and only bought a 30th birthday card. We then went to Amble, walked along the pier, had an ice cream and watched people and seabirds. We had planned to eat out tonight, but we had a fairly big lunch so it's beans on toast and maybe poached eggs, and no need to go out again“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning from me as well. It's sunny here, but there is a definite morning chill in the air.
Plant - GS1 sorts out the parts he can reuse and throws the other bits away. He takes all the solder off the parts, and occasionaly he sells some bits that can be reused. Otherwise he uses them for projects of his own.
Enfys and Gem - it sounds as though you are both having a lovely time. It's lovely to be able to just wander around, stop for a coffee or ice cream when you want, and just people watch! Enfys safe journey as you start heading south again. The reindeer sound lovely.
We're not too sure what our plans are today. It's GD1's birthday. She's having her party tomorrow - a trip with 8 friends to a recording studio. They have some voice coaching, a rehearsal and then record their song. She's chosen Roar by Katy Perry (sorry about the ad at the beginning!) Her mum was quite pleased because the song is about women being strong and positive.
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
So today they may come over here for a barbecue or we'll meet up for lunch. As you can see, we're great at forward planning in our family!
Gem and Oma - enjoy your lunch - and just behave yourselves, ladies.!!!

Good morning everyone.
It has rained overnight, but the sun is peeping out now.
Looking forward to seeing the Omas later!
Daisy, I hope your GD has a lovely day. I always think of her as being the same age as my GD, as they are in the same school year, but she is over 10 months younger!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Daisy that's an unusual birthday present, it sounds amazing .
SIL is popping by later this afternoon with two youngest GS's. Unfortunately DD won't be will them because she has to work. SIL will be in Hay which isn't too far from us to pop and have a cuppa and a catch up.
Today my Tesco grocery was delivered with the English new season apples. I just had to eat one almost at once, I just couldn't resists temptation Its a sign that autumn isn't too far off.
Hope all you ladies are well. Have a restful afternoonBring me sunshine in your smile.

Lovely hot day today, done Waitrose shop this morning, GS3 has just been to help me with a gardening job, he needs the money. GD2 is at a spa(a present for her birthday), her boyfriend is on his way down from Leeds for her birthday tomorrow, he has planned several surprises, it is driving her mad. I know he has made her a cake. We are all going out for brunch tomorrow as she is spending the evening in London. I have been feeding GD's whilst their parents were away, youngest said to me yesterday, how do you cook such delicious dinners grandma, isn't she sweet. I have enjoyed cooking for them as I get bored just cooking for myself, same old thing, same old thing.
I hope you had a nice day together Gemini and Omas
Apparently the weekend we are in Birmingham is the start of freshers week, my GS tells me, sounds like fun.
Hope the impromptu BBQ went okay Daisy, that present for the birthday girl sounds fun.
