Husband said that, as we have a key, maybe we can arrange to go and let them in the garden a couple of times a day but I don't want to get into that because at some point it would have to be me doing it and, as I say, I am scared of dogs (yes even little ones don't do it for me).
I know, Zizi - and it's hard when your life changes and it adversely affects your furry ones. But, life happens and you have to deal with the problems that come with it. I know that sounds harsh, but it's not the dogs' fault, they don't understand and they've gone from having lots of human company to none. No wonder they're protesting. It might be tempting to offer to help by letting them out, but I wouldn't if I were you. There will be days when it won't be possible and she has got to take responsibility for the poor things and find a proper solution. There may be a lonely older person around who would welcome some doggy company for a few hours a day, or a professional day carer, which would cost her, I know. But failing everything else, perhaps she should consider rehoming them.

Mimi - Oma's right. Make the appointment - and then give yourself a little treat afterwards.

      Morning all

Mimi, what a wet weekend, but you had fun! We encountered a lot of rain in Stratford. I will write about our trip later.
I too am due a smear test. I will go when I have my annual BP review and get it all done at once. She told me it will be my last one.

Libra, we have many times been to the Last Night Of The Proms at Castle Howard. It is just like yours sounds. We haven't been for the last couple of years as we, and OH in particular, got sick of being soaked as you were! On an warm dry summers night however it is a wonderful experience.

Meeting DD3 and baby for lunch, then on to collect GD from school.

Tonight we are eating out. A meal with friends to celebrate OHs birthday last month, and mine last week.
      Have a good day everyone.

Morning. Raining here. I must tackle a pile of ironing before it topples over. Touching the ceiling now 😂

MImi GO TO THE SMEAR TEST.

Well I have been out all day from first thing this morning at our Kings Cross site for a meeting, then to a neighbouring site for an "Open Doors" site tour, rather disappointing public turn out, then to meet a charity who the person who took over my secondment asked me to meet. He says he is getting nowhere with them and needs my experience. Well basically they want money and that is not what a business connector does. I suggested several avenues such as crowd funding and bidding for funds from the various organisations but no, they wanted up front money with no strings attached. Gave up. Then I went to a senior leadership team meeting - yawn. I managed to escape after an hour and got home by about 4pm. The Open Doors thing is a right pain in the rear end. Constant phone calls, emails, changing of plans......

So so I got home and the flipping dogs had not made a peep all day even though husband has been pulling tiles off in the kitchen and making a noise. Do you think they are saving it all up for me?

I got confused with dates and thought it was dils birthday this Saturday but it isn't it is the following Saturday so in between all the meetings and site visits I got myself into a panic to get her a present. I got a Ted Baker gold ballpoint pen come iPad/ phone dabber with a gold case and a rather lovely pink Ted Baker moleskin type notebook. £38, not cheap.

We have had to turn down the opportunity to have Joe and Sadie on the 25th as I am quite stressed with the kitchen refurb and I don't think we are going to be able to have them comfortably as we are using their bedroom to store things. We are taking them to Chessington the week after with Ben which I am looking forward to then we come back to the kitchen rip out. NURSE where is the gin?????

Did my ironing whilst twins slept been a busy 2dys
Gem despite the weather you also seem to have bad a good break just what I need 😜 longest day of the year on Tuesday then we start going back what the hell happened to the summer !!!!!
ZizNew street premier is nearer but the one at Waterloo st is a nicer view if you can get a room opp the Catherdal and a bit quieter outside getting too old for noise although I guess the windows are triple glazed but it feels more line hone to me 😀

I wonder if Qwerty has got thunderstorms, I saw the local forecast this evening, and he said thunderstorms in Leeds this evening will be heading our way.

Q when I am there for business I don't care either way I just want somewhere to plonk my stuff, do my meeting and get out of there as soon as possible. Hopefully next week will be the last time I have to stay away from a while. Mind you I did get chatted up last time - no let's not go there.....

                            Appointment made for Tuesday morning.

Just had a message from DIL . Our two GC are taking part in a 'paint run ' for charity on Saturday so we are hoping for dry weather. We are going to watch them , sounds like fun .

Also had a message from DD. She is feeling so uncomfortable with her pregnancy. She is getting bigger each passing day , she is only 4ft 10 and about a size 10 . I couldn't get over how big she was when I last saw her bless her. She is now on maternity leave, baby is due next month. It can't come soon enough for her .

Mimi - well done for making that appointment!

Your poor DD - it sounds as though she's very uncomfortable. At least she can get some rest when she feels tired now she's on maternity leave. xx

Zizi - perhaps the dogs just enjoyed the sound of activity all day. It sounds as though your day was one of frustration. I do hope you've now relaxed with a drink and a warm bubbly bath.

We didn't get the thunderstorms we were warned about, I don't think it had been anything near warm enough for them.

Mimi, won't be much longer for your DD.

Our eldest boy is 47 today.
