Only the British would laugh and carry on ladies 😀 sounds like you both enjoyed your time in the rain , it's only a bit water and as long as the break away and the proms were not spoilt that's what matters 😁

Daisy, as you can see I'm able to post again today. Weird.
Mimi & Libra sounds like you had fun in the rain. Libra .....soggy knickers, yeuuw 😝 Oma, glad you got your car back. As OH is away for a few days I take our pooch for a little walk. DD2 just rang to say a woman in her 50's walking her dog (where i would walk) was attacked. She asked me to please only walk in public places.
Qwerty good luck with your 'baby' sitting.

Sounds like both Mimi and Libra still had good times even with the rain.
Oma, pleased your car is fixed and clean.
Qwerty, hope your babysitting goes smoothly.

So ladies who have fur babies. You know I do not particularly like dogs as I am afraid of them but I would never do them any harm however there have been times over the last three weeks where there was very nearly doggicide (yes I did make that name up). My lovely neighbour downstairs has two Chihuahuas and a Jack Russell. Unfortunately for some reason one of the little ones has taken to constantly yapping, it is a very high pitched yap and goes through my head. I am talking four and five hours at a time. It sometimes stops when husband goes downstairs and shouts through the letterbox.

Now I know that my neighbour is working full time and she is out quite a lot now that she is single (and good for her I say) and there is not a lot she can do when she isn't here but it is driving me bonkers. It is constant and it distracts me and gives me a headache when I am trying to work. Husband has found some sort of sonic thingie on line which emits a noise which is inaudible to humans but not to dogs. Is it something that is going to cause distress to the animals? Will it hurt them? It says it is a training device and is specifically advertised as an item to help keep neighbours dogs quiet. Can anyone tell me whether I should do this, I just cannot stand the noise (even though they are very small dogs) as once the downstairs dog starts so does the one next door and it almost feels like a competition between them to see who can P me off the most!!! HELP!!!!!!!!

Mimi - welcome back. Well done to you and LG - well done for battling through the rain!

Zizi - yes it those 'silent' to us things do emit noises which are painful to dogs. The dog's yapping is probably due to separation anxiety - even though there are other dogs in the flat. You can hear the distress in those high-pitched yaps. The sound of your OH's voice might just comfort it for a while. Has your neighbour tried leaving a radio, tuned to a talk station like R4, on for the dogs? It's never ideal to leave dogs for that length of time, and one barking dog will often set another off. It must be awful for you, but also for the poor little dog. If I remember rightly you get on well with her, so you could have a friendly chat with her and explain the problem - saying that you are concerned about the dog (as you obviously are) is a good approach. If leaving the radio on doesn't help, perhaps she needs to get someone to walk them or give them some human company during the day - doggy daycare might be an option. Hopefully, she will be sufficiently worried to do something about it.

                    Welcome back to Gem, too.

I really can't understand people who think it's ok to leave dogs all day! It's so cruel.

Lost...... One hot (extremely) , dry summer as promised by the daily papers. This was going to be the hottest summer in 100 years.

In its place we have been given , rain, lots and lots of it and this , according to the daily papers is going to last through out the rest of June.

Putting the weather aside, good morning everyone, I hope you are all fit and well.
I had planned to pop to town today and then spend some time in the garden. The grass has grown and needs a cut , so to as our hedge but it's far to wet out there. If I don't get outdoors soon I feel I might go mad .

When I got home from our weekend away I had a letter from the Drs inviting me to make an appointment for that wonderful procedure know as a 'smear test' . I have made an appointment for next week but I am dreading it. When I was younger it didn't bother me at all , but now as I am much older I hate the whole idea of it , silly isn't it?
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Thing is Daisy when she was with her partner he was in and out all day so they had plenty of company, we used to joke that he was a jack in the box and frequently one of us would say "Guess what? BIll's back". His new woman won't have the dogs in the house. I am going to have to speak to her as I really can't stand it. Husband said that, as we have a key, maybe we can arrange to go and let them in the garden a couple of times a day but I don't want to get into that because at some point it would have to be me doing it and, as I say, I am scared of dogs (yes even little ones don't do it for me).

Mimi not nice but don't miss your appointment it's really vital as you know it is , I fight with my sister all the time to get her there but she just refuses silly woman I know from experience if anything wrong and caught early it's easier to treat Zizi will tell you the same . Zizi I can understand what you mean we have two yorkies 3 doors down and they yap constantly if left in garden and it's high pitched , thankfully that's not very often .
