Iv'e got chicken and leeks in the slow cooker, going to make pies for the freezer.Making a few extra for friend to put in her freezer. She probably won't feel like cooking when she starts her treatment. Also planning on making her some cottage pies, beef casseroles and chicken casseroles.

It's cold, bright and sunny here toady. I'm going to take Eva out for a long walk later - and then tackle the dreaded housework. We've got a very busy month or so ahead of us and I need to get on top of things today!

I love blueberries, too, and they really brighten up a bowl of cereal.

Nanto - there are some more suggestions on your 'freezer' list on your thread. It's such a lovely, practical way to show how much you care. xx

Nanto that's a brilliant idea , I can't tell you the times we have spent at the hospital and came home to a meal we had put in freezer earlier ,taken it out to defrost and it was ready to put in oven when we got back , no hassle cooking when tired and can't be bothered , she will appreciate that I'm sure even more than flowers 😊

Very cold here. It also very sunny. We are on our way out to meet up with DD and family at DGD's restaurant for lunch to celebrate her 21st birthday yesterday . Where have all those years gone? It was also SIL 's birthday on 14th and DH's yesterday so a real family celebration.

I am going loaded down with cake, balloons and presents

              Good morning all.

              Enjoy the lovely celebrations Enfys!

Good to hear The Omas are both on the mend I eat blueberries, because they are good for me, I can't say I am really fond of them however. GS adores them so I usually have them in for him.

GS day today. He seems to have almost lived here lately! As it's half term and very cold out, we shall be staying in!

Morning everyone, just. Pushing myself to make a birth embroidery for my lovely hairdresser today. She went into the salon for an hour (still on maternity leave) specifically to do my hair for Mum's funeral the next day. Hopefully seeing her tonight. Breast screening later today too. Hope you all have a good day.

Nan2 I used a site like this to make meals for my DD after birth of new baby. She loves it. Takes a meal out night before to defrost then pops it into slow cooker to cook itself. Hey presto. The gallon freezer bags are a must tho, got mine from Amazon. Very strong.

newleafwellness.biz is one site I used.

Sainsbury delivery this evening as usual. We both go to the front door and I (very organised) have bags etc. waiting. Usually he puts the ice away and the rest is left on the floor of the kitchen in the bags for me to sort out. As I got upstairs my work phone went, very inconvenient at 6.30pm. I quickly finished the call and heard rustling in the kitchen. Me: "what are you doing?" him: "putting the shopping away" me: "No leave it, I will do it in a moment, if you do it we will never find anything" him: "but I do most of the cooking" me: "And I do the menus, the planning, the getting everything ready for you to do the cooking". Half an hour later there were lots of tuts, sighs, under breath muttering. I asked what was wrong, he couldn't find the peppercorns for the grinder. I said they are on the second shelf in the left hand food cupboard, right hand side behind the packet of salt and before the children's milk shake powder. He said "Oh you are right, that is exactly where they are" I said "And that, dear husband, is why you should leave the putting away of the shopping to your lovely wife......"

Our Tesco delivery driver brings the shopping round to the back door that opens straight into the kitchen which is very convenient. If he were to come to the front door it would be a squeeze with myself, OH , delivery driver and the groceries all struggling for space.
OH tends to get in my way when it comes to putting the groceries, he is under the misapprehension that because when he was a slip of a lad he worked in the Co-op (just think of Open All Hours and Granville on the shop bike , and that's him ) he knows all there is to know about groceries. As far as he is concerned raw meat is quite happy to sit in the fridge above the lettuce and don't even get me started on the freezer, he just opens it up and dumps the food in anywhere. I have separate drawers for meat, veg, fish etc, how hard can it be to keep it like that ?

Have a good day, whatever your plans.

Hubby has given up putting the shopping away, because he always put things in the wrong the place, and I used to complain.
Like you Mimi, I have drawers and shelves in the fridge freezer for specific items. Then I have certain things that go in the second freezer, that is in the outbuilding.

Morning everyone. I've decided to take the plunge & go grey. Said to my hairdresser last night that I think I've dyed it enough now. I wonder how long it will last😱

Nana I wish I had seen this sooner, we could have gone grey together, I've been debating whether to dye my hair this time round or let the grey take over but yesterday I gave in and dyed my hair again.

I used to my hair blonde, but not done it for 2/3 years now. Must admit I do like the grey.
