When they got there DS found 18 lots of dog poo in the garden and the house was covered in dog hairs. He's allergic to dogs and so am I. Then he mowed the lawn - which is vast - on the Sunday evening and when he was putting the mower away he twisted his foot in a hole in the grass that was hidden. So OH had to turn out and take him to A&E. Soft tissue damage but nasty all the same. I've cooked 12 days worth of meals for them and we had their 17 year old cat who had lost huge amounts of weight while we were all on holiday. She settled on ok but stopped eating and died on Thursday morning. Everyone in tears and GS very upset. We've been doing a heap of work at their new house, not a minute to spare and so much more to do. I have to meet the Mayor tomorrow to get my prize for my story, I really could do without that as there is so much piling up. Ah well, at least I've made it onto here at last.
What a week you have had, Hope everyone is feeling less stressed.

Good morning ladies. It's a nice sunny start to the day - let's hope it lasts.

Have a good Sunday everyone. We're off to rural Wilshire thismorning for OH to collect something he's bought on an auction site, and are hoping to find a nice pub for lunch on the way home.

Very sunny but chilly breeze here, not going to be doing much today as yesterday was a busy day.Work tomorrow so need to get organised for that.Considering whether its time to get out winter clothes and boots or leave until another day, have ordered 3 nice lightweight jumpers from BHS, cannot wear really chunky sweaters as they make me to hot.

Me too Libra, I see lovely jumpers but my days of wearing warm clothes seem to be long gone! Mum always wears many warm layers, even on a hot summers day. Maybe we will grow old enough to wear warm jumpers again

Nothing much going on here. I plan an ironing and catching up with recorded programmes afternoon!

Been a glorious day here. Went to church in Cambridge this morning, then went for walk with OH along the river and enjoyed the warm September sunshine. Need to go and sort out my paints for my art class which starts tomorrow. Also need to find something to paint!! Pork in oven roasting nicely for dinner.

Oma - yes, thank you, we had a lovely lunch. Quite by chance we stopped at a pub, and as we parked, I said to OH that we'd been there before, and when we went inside we realised that it was where some lovely friends had held their 40th Wedding Anniversary 6 years ago! I'm not a great fan of roast dinners, but this was very nice, followed by coffee and a gentle drive home.

WeeGranny - I'm thinking about doing an Art class - having not picked up a brush for over 40 years, I think I could do with some expert help! What subjects do you like to paint?

In this neck of the woods it's what we call a 'Hop picking morning ' . The fields where the hops row would be surrounded in mist but as the hop picking began the sun would break through and a sunny day would follow.
