Morning all, bit dark and cold here this morning hope it brightens up...

We had a power cut yesterday, house alarm went off, so put the code in, alarm stopped but its flashing blue, don't know how to stop that, im scared to mess around with it incase i set it off, but all night my bedroom was lighting up blue its right next to our bedroom window.....

Not much on my agenda today, just going to get stuck in house and do some housework, it is looking a bit neglected, sitting room could do with decorating hate whats up, but cant be bothered to start with all the mess....

Pearl - I know that 'we ought to do some decorating' feeling - but as you say the mess to say nothing of all the work, moving furniture around etc! Our hall stairs and landing is badly in need to sprucing up and fortunately there's no wall paper to worry about, just a coat of paint, but OH wants to change the colour - he says it's boring doing the same colour - but i don't because I like the colour it is now!

I've got a much needed trip to the hairdressers this morning - it grows far too quickly!!! It's a dull still morning here - which isn't too bad for going to the hairdressers! It's usually blowing a gale or pouring with rain. lol

Hi everyone, I'm from my Stratford break
We had a great time, helped of course by unexpectedly warm and sunny weather! Living where I live, its hard to imagine living anywhere as nice, but this was one place I think I would fit into right away!

Looking forward to collecting GD from school this afternoon. I haven't seen her for 2 weeks, as they have been on holiday.

Pearl , as you know we have been doing major changes to the house here , but the new fresh look is so worth it , it really cheers me to see it . Bit to finish yet , my advice is to decorate , better still get someone to do it for you if you can ! The mess is definitely worth it

Husband decided to do me a favour and wash the towels. Two sets of brand new Sheridan towels, lovely fluffy soft ones. Lovely cobalt blue and beautiful soft pink. Shame he put them in the same wash as the beautiful soft pink came out as a murky looking dirty pink which looked like they were two hundred washes old. SO I made him do me another favour and go to get me some colour run remover. They don't look so bad now but haven't regained their beautiful soft pink and look more bright peach than anything else, still better that than murky looking dirty over washed pink.

I have yet another bout of cystitis. Luckily I realised early this morning and took some stuff, it was a bit horrid this morning but seems to be dying back now. That will be four lots this year. Getting fed up with it now. Once I am back in my real life job I may not have the same flexibility I have now if I am travelling site to site. I cannot think of anything else to do to minimise the attacks. Sigh! Grin and bear it I suppose...........

So now what? When the Sainsbury man delivered today a bottle was broken. I like to have a strawberry cidre every now and then and there were 3 for £5 on offer but one had broken in the crate. Oh well never mind. Unfortunately the breakage was in the same crate as a case of mini slimline tonics and the cardboard cover was wet. Putting all the shopping away I went to put the tonic next to the big wine rack in the hall. OUCH! Tiny sliver of glass attached to the packaging stuck into my left fore finger. My goodness what a lot of blood. Picked up a tissue from the table by the sofa and managed to get blood on the cream throw. Husband put a plaster on and gave it a magic kiss but it didn't work as it is still pouring. It isn't even proper cut for goodness sake! Help! I am feeling faint because of loss of blood, err well either that or because I don't like the sight of blood........

This week has gone so quickly, I was thinking it was Tuesday today but it isn't is it? I am cancelling my meeting in town tomorrow because of the cystitis and I have a meeting in Tooting Broadway on Friday at 3pm - deep joy, by the time we have had the meeting it will be rush hour and I need three tube trains to get home, pig of a journey on a Friday night.

Q I took advantage of my work health insurance three years ago after several bouts of it and had some awfully unpleasant tests done. It was concluded that I was just one of those people who are prone to it. I do almost all of the things I am advised to do (staying away from alcohol is one I do not do) but drinking lots of water, wearing cotton undies (story below), cranberry tablets as I cannot stand the taste of cranberry juice, not wearing tight clothes (although I do wear jeans still) etc. etc.

In the last year I have been advised on different actions to take during an attack which I won't go into on here, as to be honest, it is not the most pleasant thing to do but it is effective.

Story: someone told me that you should microwave your underwear to ensure that all germs and bacteria are gone after an attack. OK I know it sounds a bit odd but I will try anything once but in this case only once. I like nice undies and put my lovely silk and lacy Knicks in the microwave for the required 20 seconds on low and was horrified to see them smoking and pulled them out but all were ruined. Should have just tried it with one pair......... So still have pretty silk and lace undies but also cotton ones which do not explode in the nuke, I have tested them.
