Went to the butcher and when I went out it was raining, then it stopped and became all bright now it is windy, grey and chilly. I have had to shut all the windows.
In the 12 years my downstairs neighbour has had her boyfriend living with her we have had to put up with him coming in his big old land rover (or one of his other three vehicles) with his music at full pelt and the dogs downstairs barking and yapping loudly for about ten minutes. We have never complained in the interest of good neighbour relations but it is very annoying. Earlier this week my neighbour came upstairs to tell us something and had a glass of wine. During the conversation her boyfriend pulled up outside, music blaring, dogs downstairs barking like mad. she didn't say anything but since then he has not pulled up with the music on which means the dogs don't bark like mad. Peace at long last. I have often heard her telling him off about the music but she obviously did not realise how much we heard of it. it really was LOUD.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Hope you and Brian are recovering from your long day Oma. Yes now I wish I had said something but to be fair he would always look after George if we were away over night and if I needed anything like when husband was away flying he would be the first to help.
The affliction is still there but niggly now rather than a full blown attack but that is the trouble, it goes off and then comes back. I have promised to go to the doctor is I have any symptoms still on Monday but I have to be in Slough all day so might leave it until Tuesday. If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Daisy you would hate living around here for the next few weeks with the Rugby World Cup. The authorities have, in their wisdom, decided to close down a whole section of dual carriageway around Twickenham RFU which means people will come off the motorway and through our area to reach the rugby ground. In addition there are new water mains being laid in the road on the opposite side of our village which means that the traffic will come through our village. Deep joy. I have also seen on some web sites advice to rugby fans to park in outlying areas and get a bus (23 minutes from here) which I do hope people do not do, they don't usually come this far out but with the dual carriageway being closed they might just do it this time.
At least most of the Twickenham kick offs are evening or late afternoon except this Saturday coming which is 12 noon so motorway should be clear by the time I get home.Last edited by ZIZI; 13-09-2015, 08:24 AM.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Good morning everyone.
OH set off early for a golf club trip. Back tomorrow evening. This is the first time she has been on an overnighter.
I'm going to friends for lunch. They are having a few friends round for a buffet lunch. It's a pity OH can't go, but I'm happy to have something to do!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Zizi - you're right ! I'd hate it. At the moment -and for the next 9 MONTHS there are major road closures around Bournemouth. My DS2 told me about someone he knows who works at the main hospital there and he said he had sat for 50 minutes in his car parking place, unable to even get out onto the road - it's total gridlock twice a day! I'm so glad I don't have to face that every day!
Thank goodness for you that the Rugby doesn't last 9 months - it sounds like a nightmare!
Gemini - I hope your OH enjoys the golf, and if it's a competition comes back with a trophy!
