Home now. Good journey. Stopped off in Haslemere and bought some lovely bread and a little bedside jug and glass for me which we saw there last year and forgot to stop and get. Popped into Waitrose for something for dinner rather than raid the freezer. Haslemere only has one supermarket - Waitrose, no Londis or Tesco Express or anything like that, how jolly posh! Mind you I like Waitrose Nd it is probably a good job there isn't one near me or I would spend way too much money........

Got home to find my on line shopping return is still on the same place and a note to say they had missed me. So what is the point in giving instructions as to where to find things and giving two telephone numbers if they take no notice??

Zizi I don't think there is an awful lot of ' listen to what the customer says and act on ' training with some companies.
I had a run in with BT two years ago . I stayed in all day waiting for them to turn up to connect my broadband. I rang them to complain and I was told the engineer waited out side my house for half an hour in the hope I would arrive home. He went as far as to describe my house. It was a blue front door, mine is white, it was a large house, I live in a small flat and the house was in a close, I live in crescent, on the very top of a hill ! Couldn't be more wrong if he tried.

I've been to town today to purchase some shoes. What a nightmare! The ones I wanted were uncomfortable when I tried them on. Next pair I liked didn't have my size, the next pair I had my eye on were far too expensive ,£70 for goodness sake, I only want them for popping to town in , not to put a display cabinet !
I ended up with a pair of black slip on type , not very exciting but comfortable and affordable

Zizi - glad you're home safe and sound.

I lived in Haslemere for 4 years, and loved it. But we had several supermarkets. I think when we arrived in the late 70s there was a Liptons, and an International and then a brand new Cop-op arrived on Lion's Green. We lived down at the Shottermill end (near Hammer Ponds going towards the A3 and Hindhead) and it was a great place for the children with a first and middle school at the bottom of our garden, a swimming pool, cinema and a really good children's playground plus the woods all within easy reach for the children to go out on their own. I was much cheaper than Guildford when we moved there, but obviously we raised the standard a bit!!!!! hahaha.

Daisy I ony know the town centre as we stay nearby. Looking in the estate agents windows you need a bit of money for the desireabe places but I am afraid the one I fell in love with is a tiny tad over my price limit, well I say a tiny tad, only about £1.3 million. Not sure Nationwide will consider me a good investment for a mortgage just now

Got home this afternoon to find a long parcel which had been left at back door. Our address, but not post code and different name. Found a name in telephone directory and Yes the girl was expecting a parcel. She'd ordered 2 blinds and one had been delivered to her this morning and we got the other one! Wouldn't you have thought the same name and different addresses might have raised a query by the delivery driver? Anyway, she's collected it now and is going to give some feedback( not complimentary I hope!) to the delivery firm!

Good morning everyone. Marion, that sounds a lovely day

Off to vote, both local and general, then the day with my mum. Visiting my sister, doing mums shopping etc.

I wish the weather would become more Springlike!

nice day here so far , bit nippy out of the sun , voting done and dusted , we couldn't find our polling cards ( don't remember ever getting any ) but it wasn't a problem . We met neighbours and stood chatting for ages , I would still be there but Jim had to get twitchy so home for a cuppa . I posted a card for DGDs birthday on Saturday , hand made of course I might load it into my gallery if I can find it
