It's opened up into a beautiful day at last after a drizzly ,misty morning. Not a cloud in the sky.

Gemini-Had a call from Memory Clinic. Offered us a cancellation appointment next Monday!
Plant-I can touch floor with flat hands and straight legs but I am 8 years your junior. Well done. Shows you are still flexible.

Hot sun here in London, I've done the edges of the grass, swept the paths and got the sun lounger out. OH has finally decided to start cutting down the ancient, out of shape pyracantha tree and now the grass and paths are covered in bits of twig and dead ivy. He resisted having it removed for years as the sparrows nested in it, but those damned parakeets have driven all the small birds away so no excuse now. Mind, I think it will take weeks to get it cut down. Then the roots will need killing off. It drains all the moisture and goodness from the soil and very little will grow there. One day I want some miniature fruit trees there and a black currant bush.

Minny we had two big trees chopped down partly because they were roosts for the parakeets who would make the most unholy noise and drop their droppings all over the place, haven't seen any since then, maybe they are the ones from my garden visiting you! There was an article somewhere last year when a "bird expert" claimed there are no more than 70 to 100 green parakeets in the country. Well I know from the experience in my garden there is more than that plus when my office was by the river in Isleworth there were hundreds on the island opposite. We also used to have a big blue parrot turn up from time to time.

That 'expert' is tweeting out of his beak. There are thousands of the damned things. And to make matters wires our neighbour has put three bird feeders on his silver birch tree ON OUR SIDE and it attracts every parakeet with SE postcode. I did make some representations and he cut off a couple of branches and moved them slightly but that's all. It's tricky because they are good neighbours and very welcoming to the boys when they are here.

It's about time for a London lunch, isn't it?

I said at the time there are thousands of the damned things and the person didn't know what they were talking about! Yes London lunch definitely due. We are going out tonight and I have a lot of appointments this week but I will have a look at my diary when I have a minute and give you some dates.

Re neighbours our downstairs neighbours have two big trees in their garden which are covered in sticky sap, obviously diseased. I always used to park under them but the yuk on the car is too much to bear. You cannot just wipe it off it needs a bleach spray and proper scrub. So I have started parking where the man of the house used to park one of his vehicles, he has two at the front both big thingies. He clearly doesn't like it as if he is in and I go out in my car he immediately moves his car into my space but I did tell his girlfriend why I was parking there so I think I have done the right thing. Like you I don't want to fall out with them especially as we will be a consortium when the freehold is finally released to us.

Yesterday I went to my g/d first Sports Day they let the reception class have their own she was four when she started school last September and she is still four the youngest in the school, they had an egg and spoon race now lots of the kids kept losing their egg but my little Im kept going slowly and carefully got to inches off the winning line not dropping the egg once, a little boy dropped his and sort of went in front of her causing her then to drop hers, she burst into tears bless her I was mortified when she didn't get a sticker and asked for a stewards enquiry at which point my DD said mum its ok don't fuss, I calmed down eventually I dont think I will be welcome at the next Sports Day lol

Went to GS's cricket match last night. He wanted us to go and watch him play. His team won and he took 2 wickets! Very proud of him!
DD booked us in to a hotel where she used to work and we were given a suite......complimentary!!! Could get used to that sort of treatment!
