Hallo everyone, it was a lovely morning but quite cold, rain later on this afternoon.

I have been to the doctor, she said my stomach is "sore", it could have been a virus, that could make it all feel sore, it isn't anything like it was last week but it was painful when she pressed on it, I have to see how it goes and if it doesn't clear I have to get in touch and she will send me for a scan.

Daisy, looking forward to reading about the Titanic. Your poor DH with his car, cold and damp isn't good for them is it.

You asked what we found in pockets at the charity shop, cash, jewellery, even a passport once!

Gem, you must have more dresses than my one!! I have lots of blouses and tops though.

Nanto, that was cheap for an alteration. I have a friends evening skirt to shorten for her , from the waist as it doesn't fit her and is far too long as it is.

      Good morning.

Daisy, glad the car problem was no worse than a flat battery.

I need to wash a load of darks, but after seeing the weather forecast I don't think I'll be able to hang them out.

Dinner is corned beef and onion pie,not sure whether to do plain mash, cheesy mash or carrot, swede and potato mash. Decisions, decisions. Might do peas and sweetcorn for veg.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else

Nan2, roll on drier days so we can hang our washing out more!

Lizzie, hopefully your stomach will continue to get less sore.

I hope the battery in your OH's car is fully charged now Daisy.

Aquafit for me this morning, and coffee with my friends. No other plans at the moment. I have 2 grandchild days coming up including a sleepover for the baby so maybe I should rest and store up energy today!

        HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. We are celebrating (ahem!) Valentine's Day with pouring rain. Not great for OH's car, which is still leaking, but will at least start now.

Lizzie, it sounds as though you're gradually getting better. I suppose it was impossible to return jewellery to the donor of the clothes, but at least the passport could be returned or sent to the Passport Office. Altering a skirt from the waist sounds complicated, so I bet the owner is vry grateful.

Gem, enjoy your aquafit and have a relaxing day - it's going to be full-on with the GCs for two days. I don't suppose there's much chance of good weather either, so you can go out with them.

Nanto, I've got a couple of loads to do, but I'm going to leave them for today! Goodness knows when it will be dry enough to hang washing out again! Carrot, swede and potato mach sounds lovely. I quite often do sweet potato mash and we both enjoy that.

Dog training for me this afternoon. Our lovely neighbours took Eva out for us yesterday and she slept all evening. She is having a lazy morning - hasn't even been in the garden yet! OH and his 3 chums are all here working on the kit car today. The usual chaos prevails.

I'm just catching up with yesterday's posts!

Nanto, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin dying - had he (she?) been poorly? How is Sister coping?

Gem, I always have trouble sorting out clothes to pass on. I start off well, then, like you, can't make up my mind. I read somewhere that you should first choose your favourites clothes and put them back in the wardrobe and then sort out the rest - do they fit, do you EVER wear them, are they looking a bit tired and worn out, etc and don't put anything back in the wardrobe that you don't absolutely love! Counsel of perfection, I know, and I wish I could do it, but it must be satisfying to have reorganised two wardrobes so they work better for you. My DIL1 sorts her wardrobe out regularly and sells 'good' stuff she's gone off.

Plant, I'm sure the Titanic mock up in Cherberg is very interesting - at the time it raised on board luxury to new levels. Our neighbours always take their dog with them. They drive to the French Alps, and their dog enjoys going out on the mountains. Apparently where they stayed is very isolated, so no prepared pistes etc. I'm sorry to hear you have had some sad time recently in your Trefoil Group. xx

Oma, you've reminded me that I need to clean out windows inside. I meant to do them last week, but ran out of time. There's not much incentive though when it's wet and dark like this. I bet your sister was delighted with the cardigans, especially with it still being cold and miserable. A cosy cardi is one of life's great comforters!

They should look at OHs car while they are there see if they can find out where the leak is coming from 😁

Thanks Daisy. My cousin was 85. I haven't seen her for about 20 years.
She was in hospital with breathing and stomach problems. Don't know how long she had been in hospital.
Her sister is ok,glad that she isn't suffering anymore.

Hallo everyone, a miserable, drizzly, wet day!

I have been to the circuit training, we have such a friendly group and most stay for coffee, and a chat, afterwards.

Oma, I read that the flower, veg growers here have a problem getting their produce through customs at the moment, so much paperwork.

Daisy, it wasn't easy finding owners for the jewellery etc, it was always put aside and if no one asked for the items they would be sold. A friend of mine worked at a telephonist for a charity similar to Salvation Army, it is a good few years ago, they would advertise through flyers etc then a lorry would do the whole area in one day doing all the collecting. Following that all the lorries would take their goods to a huge re-cycling warehouse. She received a call, the poor man was panicking, he had returned home from work and asked his wife where the old ice skates where out of the shed? You have guessed it, she had got rid of them, only, he had been saving spare cash for years and "hiding" it in the skates!!! There was no way they could trace the bag they were in, so, the poor man never got his cash returned. I bet he has never forgiven her!

I called in the charity shop this morning, bought a black blouse, cost me €1! It is tone used to sew in the skirt for my friend for interfacing, in my head it is finished, with my hands, still to be done.

Gem, I expect it is the same for golf here, so much rain.

I was talking to one of the ladies from our group, she had a lovely raincoat on, especially made for cycling, warm lined etc, plenty of zips, she said " try it on" so I did, it was a lovely coat until I came home and searched Google for it, only €350! I will stick to my Jack Murphy image.png image.png

Lizzie, lovely but expensive coat, I expect it will last forever.

Gemini, Busy child minding days coming up, you rest beforehand.

Daisy, That was kind of your neighbours to take Eva for a walk, is she willing to go with them without you?

Oma, I can remember you saying your DS was a Valentines baby.

I have been to the main hospital for a check up for any more skin cancers. The doctor went all over my body and signed me off.

That's coat is beautiful Lizzie, but what a price! How terrible about the skates

                            That's good news Plant.

Oma, no they are unable to get onto the course at all, too much water. They are meeting up socially but it's not the same. Fingers crossed for next week.

How did dog training go Daisy?

Nanto, it sounds as though your cousin was very poorly indeed. As her sister says, she's at rest now. xx

Lizzie, I can't imagine the conversation between the couple with the skates, but I don't suppose they will ever forget it. It's too much to hope that whoever had the skates would have returned the money to the charity for its funds. What a lovely coat, but a price to go with it.

Oma, happy birthday to your DS. I hope he has had a good day, even if he didn't have much to say. It's always the same, isn't it - prices rocket for Valentine's Day and Mothering Sunday especially.

Plant, that's good news from the hospital, and quite a relief for you, I'm sure.

Gem, the lazy day was a good idea! Glad you managed it. Are you just having your hair trimmed, or are you planning something more drastic?

Eva had a bit of a nervous start to training today. There was a new dog in class who she has only previously met on our group walks. This dog is a beautiful young Doberman, but she is quite vocal. She had just walked round Eva's bed, but Eva was a bit anxious and wouldn't lie down, so she was sitting on my feet. I should have turned her round but didn't act quickly enough and the new girl gave an almighty "woof" as she went past. I was able to turn Eva's head away, but it was a bit of an emergency response on my part. But she was ok after that and enjoyed all her favourite games - playing with toys, scent work and flyball!

OH has got an eye injection tomorrow morning - we need to leave home about 7.30, which is super-early for us morning lazy bones. At least, hopefully, we will be back in time for coffee mid-morning! OH tends to recover better when he has treatment first thing, so it's worth getting up early for.

Hope all goes well at oh's appointment Daisy.

                                Very pricey coat Lizzie.

Weather was quite mild yesterday and according to our local forecaster otherwise known as bro in law it will be milder today.

Not sure whether or not we are going to the pub to eat. If not I'll do a full English today.

Shopping being delivered between 9 and 10, so time for another cuppa.
